I am receiving numerous calls from this number. Very irritating...

They started calling me about a month ago asking for John saying it was applied bank and it was imperitive that I return their call. There is not, nor has there ever been a John on my cell phone. I have told them multiple times to take me off their call list...needless to say I got ANOTHER call from them this morning! Make it stop!!!

Sometimes it comes up restricted, sometimes unavailable. I don't give out my cell phone number, so I can't imagine where they got it from.

(Oh, and my mom said that applied bank is based in India, which explains why it's so hard to understand them!)

i have been receiving calls daily at least 6 times a day ,i finally let my answering machine o and they wont leave a message im now to the point were i shut the phone off i have a sick husband and it really gets annoying when they dont stop!@ thanks for the tips i will do them

These people have called me three times already and asked for someone guy I don't know, who supposedly gave this number as being his. In spite of the fact that I said repeadedly that this number was wrong, they keep on calling back. The guy has a German accent and is the one who always answers, so I figure it is a small company. It is obviously located overseas.

I refused to answer of course and said I was going to call the police if he continued calling me.

We have been receiving calls from "Allied Credit" and "Allied Bank" for over a year asking for Anthony. We have had our phone number since June, 2006. There is no Anthony here! We have informed the callers of such many times, most recently a representative named Brian on June 20, 2008. They have called 4 times in the last 6 days. Is there any way to stop this. The DONOTCALL registry is useless. Another waste of taxpayer resources.

So, i just started getting calls from these [***] a few weeks ago.  The first few times, I didn't answer because I didnt recognize the number.  I let it go straight to my voicemail, and no message was left.

After a while I start getting voicelmails saying that they are trying to contact "elsa" or something.  They say they are calling from applied bank and to return the call.

Now im not going to call, cause I heard that when you return the calls sometimes, you will get charges on your phonebill (a classic scam).

So I started picking up the phone within the last week.

The first few times I just said "nobody is hear by that name"

2 days ago, I changed my reply to "you have the wrong number,please stop calling here"

and yesterday i said "look, youve called me lots of times and i keep telling you to stop calling here"
the reply i got is "sorry sir, I will take your number off of our list"

well guess what?...i got another call this morning.

Since I am sure that their offices are probably on the east coast or midwest, they call about 9:30 or 10:30am their time, which is 7:30 or 8:30am california time (where I am).

I am a student who usually has classes in the morning, and it is really annoying to be interrupted during a lecture in class by these stupid [***] phone calls.

so....when they call again, im gonna have a little fun with them....i'll post on here and let you guys know what happens.

Here is what I recommend people do:  I called them back and explained that I was part of the National Do Not Call Registry and since I did not know their company's name, I had no idea why they were calling me.  The caller advised me that he (Indian accent) would take my number off of their list.  I told him that was a good idea.  We'll see if I get any more calls.

these people called me 20 times. i checked my phone records. at first i told them i wasn't who tey were looking for and they'd say sorry and that was it. but the calls kept coming. eventually i looked up online the person they were trying to get ahold of (with them on the phone) and gave them her number. the calls kept coming. i told them three times to take mout of the system. then i looked them up online and called their customer service and told her to take me out. she was very rude and hung up on me. that was the last straw. i filed a complaint with the bbb saying that they needed to stop calling me or i would take my phone records to the police and file a report. while i was filing with the bbb, they called AGAIN. i took down the name of everyone i talked to and let them know what i was doing. like magic, the calls stopped. so if you want them to stop, go to the bbb.

just a follow up. it's been more than a week and i haven't got a call from them. this is a nice change to the twice a day calls i was getting. filing a complaint online with the bbb was the only thing that seemed to work so if you want them to stop do that. o and when they call tell them you're doing it.

Just got a call from this number at my work place, asking for someone who no longer works here.  Interestingly, while this is a standard toll-free number, the caller-ID showed that it was an International call, reinforced by a significant time delay between our conversation.

This number just started calling me 2 days ago they say nothing and don't hang up.  It happened several times the first day.  Of course I use my magnifying glass lol to see caller ID now and just don't answer.  Today also Sunday it happened again.  How does a person come up with all these phone numbers?  Calculating, random, I can't think like that person.  If need be though had this number only 6 months if this continues just change it as I see from a long list of your problems it happens like torment.

I started to receives these calls this past Saturday. Missed the calls, no voicemail.  Sunday same thing, more calls and no messages.  This morning (Monday), here we go again.............

I answered and the thought at first there was nobody on the line.  All of a sudden somebody asks for Thomas Logan.  They were told this number does not belong to him and not to call back. ...Well, guess what........... They did

I called back the 866 number and got some idiot (who like the person who called me) who could not be understood....  I have had this number for over three years and never give it out to anyone but close family members.  Geez,
this company needs to get a grip.

I keep getting calls from this number- but I never answer them.  They never leave a voicemail either... However, two calls in one day is very strange and suspicious.  I occasionally get one other solicitation call- but even the automated voice wastes my time leaving a message.

i too have been getting lots of calls from this number, with music in the backround. I tried calling it back a couple of times and got through. my comments to the caller were not very kind to say the least. Now when I try to call it back i cannot get through, but they are still calling!

they call me about twice a day and they will not leave me alone... i told them that they had the wrong number and all they do is continue to call me back and it is making me angry because they are calling me at  8 in the moring and waking me up so i may just start to put my fone on silent just because of that number.

Same problem as many other are facing with this caller. Someone calling or leaving messages on my cell phone. I spoke few times and told them that they had a wrong number but they would not stop calling during the day time, evenings or even the weekend. I have ignored these call now and do not respond.

I recieve calls to my cell phone daily from these people, some days several times a day. One day I just kept picking up and hanging up and they'd call right back!!! I've told them over and over and over that they have the wrong number. They keep telling my that it'll be 48 hours and I'll be off their list.. well it's been almost a month now. I've told them that I'll report them for harrassement and they still call. I'm so sick of it!! it's using my cell minutes!! I found this thread just by googling the number. I'm not surprised to find so many others getting calls from this number. Oh and another thing fishy about these people.. I always ask for a supervisor and make sure to get the name of the person I speak to. Looks like everyone who works there so far has the last name Jones.

I have been getting calls from this number 6 times a day fora month.  I talk to a supervisor and he tells me my number is not in their system.  When he wants to verify who I am he asks for my SS#... like I am going to give some idiot overseas my SS#. I am fixing to change my number, and my cell is a company owned internal Blackberry that is not listed in any way.

I receive calls from this number couple of times a day. Sometimes they leave a message, stating that it is imperative to call them back, other times, they hang up on me. I have answered the call once because I was so annoyed and asked who they were. I didn't understand what they were saying, due to their heavy accents. They also kept asking for my number and making me repeat myself. I don't know how to make them stop calling. I don't want to change my number since I have had this same number for over 5 years. I was thinking about blocking the number.
