Claims to be BB&T. Sounds like a scammer. Always calls right after 8:30 am.

It is not from BB&T. They have called me and I do not have a loan with BB&T.

It is for credit card not a loan.

Calling us several times a day. No one ever on the line and won't leave a message.

Sometimes good honest people fall on hard times and legitimately can't always make their payments on time. Damn banks are relentless. I'd rather bury my money in the back yard than trust a single one of them.

We're getting constant calls from this number. We caught up on our past due payments with them (unforeseen circumstances put us behind) several months ago but they continue to call. By now we know the number when it appears on our caller ID and we simply let our answering machine handle it. They have gone beyond the point of extremely annoying and are venturing into the harassment extreme and we are "this close" to reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

Yeah, that should scare the bejesus  out of them.  Sending them to an organization with no law enforcment powers.  One that takes money to improve ratings and stops complaints after the business has made a response because they classify it as a "good faith effort".  Why not report them to the CFPB a federal agency that can actually do something.  Why not report them to your State Attorney General, a state agency, also paid for with your tax dollars that can also do something?

I called the bank and it's not them. I get these calls daily.

My friend sent me a check and it was stolen.  This was a BB&T checking account.  Luckily the bank caught the fraud and NEVER cashed the check.  This was in October 2017.  Now all of a sudden 3/18 I have gotten two calls within two days stating they are BB&T and want to speak to (the friend of mine who wrote the check).  How on earth did this fraud number get my number and relate it to my friend's name who had fraud.  Caller ID is 800-995-9070 but the voicemail says to call this number back 866-877-9385.

Maybe the people saying just pay your bills are them trying to scam a different way? This one was different, they called one of my sons about the other son. Gave a file #. I called back and the answering machine started talking about how they will be asking for personal information and how it is protected. My son called me because he was concerned his brother was in trouble. NEVER give out personal information. Call the bank yourself or go in person.
