    Did not bite
It was a "unknown caller" when they called. The guy with the middle-eastern accent got really aggressive when I kept asking him questions and raised his voice. I told him that I was not interested, "no thank you," and hung up. He called back twice and on the second time I picked-up and he was pretty pissed off. He said "you are going to reject this offere for $1.95?!?!" So I said "I am not interested. I do not want this offer. I do not appreciate you raising your voice to me. Do not call me again. I am going to hang up now." And that was that. If it were legit he would not have called back twice and he would not have been so aggressive. YIKES! Beware if you get a call from this number. In my case, he gave me the phone number since the caller id appeared as "unknown caller."

It is my opinion that this is a phishing expedition. My recommendation is do not give out financial information and here is why:
Call came up as 514-555-5555 a number registered to Quebec, Canada.
Man with mid-eastern accent approached me with same offer as above. He informed me he was with APEX Services operating out of Las Vegas when asked why his number showed up as Quebec he said it was because he was operating on an internet line. Not a very plausible answer as why would the phones be registered to Canada when the company HQ was in Vegas? There would be no reason to do so unless the company was dodging U.S. law or taxes.
The phone number 866-901-8966 is the company's customer help line (not very hard to do as anyone can get an 800 line for just a few dollars a month).
The website given was wwww.apexserviceonline.com. When I went to the website it was obviously not the work of a professional denoting either a very poor company with a DITY webmaster or a fraudulent front. The website seemed to be devoted more to adds then to the company, another sign the business is probably illegitimate.
The man gave his name first as Matthew and then as John Matthew ID # IT1614. When I spoke to his supervisor (also with a mid-eastern accent though less heavy) he gave his name as Steve Johnson. If you notice both first and last names are first names and when Matthew is a last name it is usually Matthews. Both names are also very common and it could be that two mid-eastern gentlemen immigrated and changed their names to common American names. But it does add to list of coincidences that point to fraud.
Neither the company nor its website was listed with the Better Business Bureau and when I asked for the company address the men refused to give it to me (something no legitimate business would do). When Googled or when referenced on www.yellowpages.com I could find no references to the company, not even its website which is extremely odd to say the least as any legitimate company with a website is doing its best to promote it's company name and you can usually find at least a reference to it.
When asked where they got my information Mr. Matthews claimed that they were an IT company and had gotten my information from a service they had installed for me. Later he claimed the company was allied with camera companies and travel services (notice the vague wording and no actual recognizable company names were used) which seems an odd branching for an IT services company.
Then there was the matter of the shipping. It's true that sometimes companies do give away free stuff and then request that you pick it up or pay for it to be sent to you. However, in this case the amount was "fishy". First there was the matter of the flat rate fee of $1.95. If they refused to pay for shipment then why would their flat rate be so low? $2 might be enough to ship the camera short distances but according to their descriptions this company has a large sphere of influence and is conceivably shipping items around the states. If you go to any online business you will find that shipping and handling fees for small items usually ranges from $4.99 to $7.99 to cover employee time and the costs to ship anywhere in the U.S. $1.95 is simply too low a figure to be used for anything but a fraudulent ploy to get account information.
Finally when I asked why I should give them my account number (needed for the check) when they could not give me any proof of legitimacy they claimed that it was ok because even with my account numbers they still could not withdraw money unless I went to the bank and confirmed the charge. In this day and age most of us know this is simply not true. With my name, address and the phone number they had already obtained (many companies sell consumer information to make a further profit off of you) and the account numbers they were trying to obtain from me they could have made off with as much money as I had in my account. Once they have those numbers the best you can do is do a stop payment but that is only if you catch them in time.
    Conclusion:
Everything this company claimed (with the exception of a few "mis-statements" and contradictions) is theoretically in the realm of possibility, however, with all the unlikely coincidences and lack of proof to the opposite I would have to conclude that this is a complete scam. So STAY THE HELL AWAY.

I too just got this call today, I was in the mood for some games so I gave him all false information.  I know about these calls and they are annoying!!  I too am on the do not call register but he covered himself by saying this was not a telemarketing call because he wasnt selling anything....which is true but its still an unsolicited call.

Never give them any financial information because they will withdraw ALL your funds!

They have been calling for WEEKS. I finally picked up, and it was the same...a woman with a middle eastern accent. When I said no, she kept going, and I asked her for her address so I could send a money order. She said they can't do COD. So I asked to be taken off their call list and was transferred to a supervisor, Mary Parker. I also got their customer service number 866-901-8966. Mary started with a spiel about my account, and I said no, I wanted my number off their call list. She said, ok, thank you and hung up. I've got a number and name (as most of us do), you can submit complaints at the Do Not Call website.

I can not believe that I was scamed into giving my financial information to a fruadulent company over the phone. I feel so hurt and stupid at the same time. The company that called was APEX. They told me that I have won a 3 day 2night trip for four anyplace in the US. I choose Las Vegas of course . He then asked me for my checking account number and I gave it to him, like a [***]. What do I do from here? Can anyone help me clean up the mess that I caused myself. I would like to report this type of fruad to the FBI and seriously get these guys put away.

This company is a fraud. They have taken $169.93 from my account. Initially the person said that giving the bank details should not matter.. because any person can get that information.. who is standing in the queue next to us in the bank. Thought that he is a good guy.. I gave my account information and after 3 weeks the above said amount was taken from my account instead of $1.95. Poor me. Then I googled to catch them with their name and address as received in mail. 5940 South Rainbow Blvd. Suite 2007 Las Vegas, NV 89118. The number given by google was (702) 835 9211. But, someother company attended this call and said that Apex Management was earlier there and they moved out of the building. Better be careful when you get this call.

They got me for 169.93 too. It was supposed to be 1.95. I called my bank and they told me to call them to see if they would take care of it. But I am just getting the same service recording. The bank told me that I would probably have to come in and clase my account and reopen another one to stop them from doing it again.I can't close it right now though I just paid some bills by check that I have to wait to clear.

Same as all the others above.  Very thick eastern accent - I had to keep her (sounded like a female) but gave me the name of Ronald Smith.  She gave me the 866-901-8966 number and the www.apexservicesonline.com address.  I told her that I had pulled up the company information while I was talking to her and I was not interested after seeing it on line.  Actually, I googled the number she gave me and came directly to this website and saw all the cautions.  Needless to say, I ended my call with her very quickly.  I simply said "I'm not interested" and hung up the phone.

same as all others this person called and offered me a free digital camera and some trial items all i had to do was pay for shipping and handleing i didnt feel right about giving my bank info so i gave an account that wasnt a main account that didnt mean much to me today i read that bank statment and found they attempted to take $169.93. the reason i say attempted is that i dont keep more than $100 in that account and the transaction went through but then was returned. so i called the bank to get the number for the place tried to call but to my luck they only take cals ( some the recording says) mon thru friday i looked up the number and found this page. i have reported the web page as a phishing site and would recomend others to do the same.
