This is from some kind of competition line. Whilst I may have at some point enterd a competition and given my mobile contact number, I did not agree to pay £4.50 on a weekly basis for unsolicited texts. This month's bill has cost me an extra £22.50 for these texts. I have contacted the number with a STOP text and receive a free SMS confirmation that the service will stop within one working day - it had better. I have also blocked it via an SMS blocker on my Blackberry - we'll see!!!

Just checked my bill and have seen that I have been charged 3 times by 87066, every Wednesday, in April.  I have no knowledge of signing up to this, but remember deleting some sort of quiz question.  I think it has also happened in May.  How do I delete this please?

you could start by reading comments from earlier on this thread - page 2. but you'll need to sort the wheat from the chaff. 12d is generally very accurate with his / her advice.

I was charged £4.50 each for 5 texts apparently made by me on my June bill from Vodaphone.  checked my phone and knew I had not sent these texts.  Looked on this site and realised it was a scam so immediately had on line chat with VF.  Uncharacteristically, Vodafone were very helpful.  They blocked the number and credited me £25.  Previous comments for this not to allowed to continue have my support.

u were not charged for sending 5 texts, the scam works by "them" sending sms to yr mobile; even if u delete without opening, the charge still goes thru'! mobile operators appear happy to collude with these fraudsters, as they take a slice of the cake, so rather surprised voda gave up without making u jump thru hoops! well done, u must have a nice telephone voice/manner :)

Upgraded phone from vodaphone .Started receiving premium fate texts at £4.50 a time every Wednesday. 87066. Payable to Vodaphone .Have blocked these calls several times.Vodaphone shop in Taunton also blocked them. Started to receive these theft texts again on Wednesday.Vodaphone are making money from this scam .Thy are guilty of complicity to this fraud .Are the therefore in breach of contract?

I have also received a text saying that they have 'received my entry' but I haven't entered any type of competition. every time they text me,they charge me  £4.00  and I want to know what's going on. my phone bill is usually £15.00 but lately my phone bill has gone up to £113.00

I have had a number of texts shown on my mobile number bill that says I have used this number at a premium of £4.50 per text. I do not know of this number

Checked my August mobile bill and 87066 showed a charge of £4.50 and £0.10 both on 31st july 2018 at 06.08am !!! I was unconcious at that time on a Saturday morning in my bed !! How can they just out of the blue just charge someone when ive never had any contact with them :-(.
