I saw this charge of $49 and was alarmed.  It is a charge through active.com.  It took me a while to figure it out but it is for the monthly membership at my local community center which I just signed up for.  So it isn't just for running events.  If you signed up for a gym membership, aqua therapy classes or anything involving physical activity it might be billed through ACT.

Got billed on a (no annual fee) credit card I had activated and then ran through the paper shredder as I was no longer interested in it but did not want to cancel it so my credit rating would remain the same.   Threw me for a loop but I backtracked it to some membership I got in last year for a half marathon and forgot to cancel out.   I guess the CC company automatically transferred it from the old card to the new card.   Oh well, it least it was legit due to my own stupidity.    I decided to use the $85 off code for being a member and picked up some decent running shoes dirt cheap so it is a wash,  And yes, this time I did cancel and it runs through November 2019.
