- CookI received a call from Tri Financial 5 days in a row at my home and my moms house. I realize I oew the debt but the balance was 300.00...now they are saying I owe 1500.00. I live in Ohio and they say they can settle for 800.00, because of fees. Is this possible. Can anyone give me advice. I am willing to pay the 300.00

- annieGot a call from 877-268-9286. The name of the company was Tri-Financial Associates. They claimed that they are collecting on a credit card debt associated with MBNA Bank. They said the debt was from 2001. When I explained that I never received any notification of this debt by phone or in the mail, they threatened me with garnishment and civil litigation. The person I spoke to was very rude.

- LoriI started receiving very rude messages a couple months ago for my daughter. I called them back and didn't receive what sounded like a fax machine noise, but alot more obnoxious buzzing. We received several more loud and rude messages from "Tri-fi" Associates. Finally one day I was home when he called, he went from being obnoxious to professional for a few minutes anyway. I explained I was my daughter's mother and she hasn't lived here since she graduated high school over 2 years ago. When I asked if she owed money and if he was a collection agency, he started laughing and wouldn't say a word. I told him I would give her the message again, but calling my house wouldn't resolve the issue. He still keeps calling, and I noticed yesterday that "Damien Spencer" keeps leaving different extension numbers, and that's when I got suspicious and found this website. I am amazed at the postings and decided that the next time I can catch him when he calls, I am going to ask him to send legal documentation to my address, since he keeps bothering us,and when he refuses, I will tell him my lawyer will contact him.
It's funny that even if my daughter put my name down for a reference contact, that he doesn't have a clue what my name is, he refers to me as "the mom"
Makes him sound very professional!!!! I don't have caller ID, just going with the information that's left on my machine!- Caller: Tri-fi Associates
- BWTri-Financial has been calling me lately. They have my name from a contact number, not a co signer, on my sister-in-laws credit app. They have called me 4 times in the last 12 days. My sister-in-law has talked to them twice in between these fours times and they keep calling. She said that she doesn't have time to deal with them now. I have a feeling they will keep calling. They are trying to have me get upset enough to put pressure on my sister-in-law to take care of it. I was told by a lawyer that they are only allowed to call a contact number one time. Especially, since I told them that I can't give them her number on the first call.

- RThey keep calling the number for which I have had for 4 years. They keep calling for the previous person who had this number. They have been told numerous times that no such person is at the number.
I suggest you call them every time you pass a payphone. They will have to pay for the call, and they get charged extra from payphones. Do not use your home or cell phone, as all your information will be given to them as they are paying for the call. - Dustin QuinnI got a call from the same numbers as well from a Mr. kormick and he said I have 6 days to get this account paid in full or they were gonna go ahead and take my DL away and Title to Vehicle. I am a Disabled person waiting for SSI/SSDI to accept my case. I have no money, my car is worth 100 dollars at most, I have a negative balance with my bank account what do these people think they are going to get from me. They told me the original amount was for 2500 dollars next person called me told me it was for 1350 dollars. They were extremely rude, made fun of me when I told them I was disabled. What kind of company does this. I am filing a complaint with MN attorney general and FTC. One of the debts was legit but not for the amount they said it was for and the original company told me that the debt went to another collection agency not this one. The other debt is not legit and I could not get a hold of the company to confirm the truth. We need better oversite on these companies and bring in tougher penalties against them.

- Texas SavvyI received a message on my cell phone regarding my sister's name and SS#. I called them back to tell them to stop calling and immediately the guy, Mr. Morrow xt 225, starting talking over me and yelling. I told him to shut up and let me finish and he hung up! I then proceeded to call them back 5 TIMES to get them to take my number off of the account and they kept hanging up. One guy told me to stop calling and harrassing them, I told them HOW DOES IT FEEL!!. I also asked for their address to file a complaint with the FCC regarding harassment. They tried to tell me it was a security risk and that they couldn't give it to me. I informed them that if ANYONE callas and asks what their address is that they have to give it, no matter what.
Also, in the State of Texas, 3rd party debt collectors (collection agencies) must register a bond with the Secretary of State's office and Register their out of state company with them as well. As of today they are not registered and do not have a bond on file UNLESS they are using a whole other name.
IF THIS IS YOUR DEBT - Make sure they are registered with your state to be able to conduct business. IF THEY ARE NOT, they can not pursue you legally. Make complaints with the FCC and your state's Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. It does help.- Caller: TRI & Associates / TRI Financial
- Receipent of Tri FinancialI had a problem with Tri Financial calling and harassing me about a bill owed. I know what bills I owe and yet this company would not even tell me that. They left me a message with a file number saying they were going to garnish my wages--and didn't even tell me who the debitor was....... .
I decided to call the Better Business Bureau of New York and the Attorney General's Office for the state of New York. I sent an email to both as well and attached these and other pages of complaints concerning TR-Financial. THIS GOT RESULTS--the Better Business Bureau had Tri Financial call me back, left a message and sent a letter saying the person who called me was fired........ I have not responded back and I don't intend too. The Attorney General's Office
has a file and they will follow up.
My advice is call the Better Business Bureau for New York and the Attorney General's Office--if more persons would do this it may eventually stop.- Caller: Tri Financial
- genaMy attorney filed my complaint on them (Tri-Financial)2 weeks ago, if they haven't already, they should be getting served any day now... they were calling my office wanting to speak with our office manager, and when she refused to entertain their BS, they asked for other co-workers. the next day they would call and pose as a 'background check company' calling for information on me. Well, that didn't work either because we are a small office so everyone knew what was up and encouraged me to file suit. That Jeremy guy is a joke. I've done a ton of research on them over the past few weeks and man, they are the lowest of the bottom feeders and I will NEVER send them a dime.
Oh, by the way, I contacted the original creditor that I owed money to, and they sent me a letter saying that my account had been paid in full with them, now get this, LAST YEAR! and that they do their own collecting in house. they told me that they too are in the process of filing suit with them (Tri-Financial)... so there you go...- Caller: Tri-Financial
- PhiladelphiaIf you can contact me at reporttrifinancial@yahoo.com with your email address and just a basic outline of what happened, I will keep you in the loop regarding any information about Tri-Financial. I am considering pursuing legal action against them, and I am a freelance journalist with contacts in the Philadelphia media. One of the major stations, affiliated with a network, has a crack reporter who is also an attorney. The consumer reporter works with her and they regularly expose these sorts of companies. In order to fight back, we need to work together. Help me and I can try to help you. Be sure to save any documentation you can, take notes or try to use a speaker phone so others can help you document the conversations, and get names and extensions when someone calls if possible. Document the date and time of the calls and any threats made. Don't panic--just collect as much information as possible and we can expose these folks. Violations of the Fair Credit Act can result in severe legal consequences for the firm and the collectors. I know of a woman who lost $90,000 in a lawsuit when she was a collector and she violated the Fair Credit Act. We need information and documentation to pass on to the reporters. So take good notes.

- deeI've been called from this company Tri,finicial and been harassed in so many ways. I've told them not to call here at work and yet still keep getting calls. I'm getting calls from something 2 years ago, and was told that I'm being taken to court if i dont take care of this right away. When I asked what it was about I'm never told anything except that I need to settle. I'm sorry but I'm not gonna give any inf over the phone much less my acct numbers with out any proof. I don't have a problem if I owe this debt I will be happy to pay but I want to know what I'm paying for? And i live in Texas so if someone is going to sue me I'm suppose to get served first? Everyone knows that...

- cpeA woman named Kelly has called several times from that number. I called back last night and left a message telling her I had no idea who they were and what they wanted, so they should contact me in writing. Today, she called again and of course I did not pick up. She left her extension 223 and said that my "claim" number was 134667. I still have no idea what she is talking about and certainly have no intention of "providing the information necessary to contact you in writing." If they don't already have my address, then they can't be legit!!! This time when I tried to called back, the number hung up on me twice.
