I got a call from this number saying he’s from Fraud Protection Dept of Wells Fargo and asked for verification. I was skeptical and didn’t give anything. I called WF to check and turn out it’s a scam number. Beware and be smart!

Like the previous posts, same story.  Wells Fargo Fraud Department wanting information about my account due to a suspicious transaction.  Be careful.

It's a real WFB number

Exactly what verification did you expect them to give you, a picture of their badge (which also doesn't say WF)? and did you notice the check that was in question never got paid be it fraudulent or a real check?

This is a very real number and an immediate reaction of fake, liar and thief are very disrespectful to a honest hard working individual who is obviously looking at ALL of your account information... next time just hang up if you don't believe us

Yep, checked after my husband told me Wells Fargo never calls.

It’s a scam. Call Wells Fargo directly. Do not give them any information. I called Wells Fargo, was told this number is not associated with Wells Fargo. BEWARE!

It's likely number spoofing by scammers.

Not true.  Received 2 calls from this number within 3 hrs from 2 different people.  The reference numbers were different and I called Wells Fargo directly.  The bank said the number and representative was a scam/phishing scheme.

Beware and be careful!  Call your branch or bank fraud dept before returning a call of this type!

I called my local branch, the guy never heard of the number and gave me Wells Fargo main number (800 869 3557). I called them and asked about the above number. It was a real number. I called that number and the only vefication they asked was the reference number, what state I had opened my account in, and who was on the account. They asked if a certain large amount had been transfered somewhere else, which it had been by my dad  (he verified it when I asked). So this is legitimate, but always best to verify first.

Home due to Corona Virus stay at home till the O.K. to be in crowds is announced by CDC Task Force.  Received a recorded message to call the Toll Free Number 877-352-0969 about unauthorized use of Wells Fargo Account before the end of work day business hours.  This is a scam number.  The people that are doing the scamming are all known low life trash that will find a special place in Hell come Judgement Day.  Let's see if they can scam Almighty God.  Beware of Satan's workers as they are busy 24/7 365 days a years.

This was a totally legit call from WF to verify a person to person personal check that was over $2,000.  It was a rent check that normally comes out of a different account so it was viewed as possibly suspicious.

This is a fraud number as confirmed by my local branch and Wells Fargo Fraud department (call them directly using the number on your card).
