Got a suspicious check from Physician Practice Operations for 215.00 references an invoice but no bank, no hospital or doctor name no bank name on check. Company name Physician Practice Operations address 4000 Meridian Blvd. Franklin TN. Has the number 877-455-4778 on check

I received a check as well. Did you find out if it was real or not?

No idea what to think of this...they sent me a check for 400.01 in the mail, states it was a refund for overpayment on my account at a doctor's office....kinda crazy.....kinda scared to cash the check....haven't tried calling the number yet, as I'm unsure if this is just a scam to find active phone numbers......400.01$ sounds real enticing.....but when I deposit the check, they will then know I'm "alive" I suppose...

This is legit I called gave the number and it belongs to a doctors billing service. My doctor uses them to process our payments. I overpayed at the office so they sent me the difference.

It’s absolutely a scam. I received a check from the same company and it has Void embossed all across it. My bank said it wasn’t a valid check as it was printed on the same paper as the description stub and they refused to cash it.  The routing number attached was supposed to have been from Wells Fargo and was also fraudulent.

I got the same check of $25 refund for an overpayment made on my account at my doctor's office, but I think is a scam doesn't seem legit... I won't deposit and call to that number

OK, so no one has thought to actually call the doctor that issued the check?

I received a check for $125. I called the number listed o b the check and it was an automated system, it had top so with setting an appointment or posting a bill.  It doesn't seem legit at all!

I guess you failed to understand what I wrote.  I said to call the actual doctor.  Not this outfit.  Calling this outfit will put you in touch with possible scammers.  I can't imagine this outfit is sending out checks without an explanation letter or reason listed.

I researched the routing number for Wells Fargo bank, which is the bank my check seems to be with and the routing number is incorrect. Next step, report this check to Wells Fargo. If it is indeed a real check, they can tell me!

I received a check from Physicians Practice Operations except the address is 4001 Cane Ridge Pkwy Ste 6, Antioch Tn. This house is out in the middle of nowhere. Not a lagit bsiness. I won't be calling them. There number is 877-455-4778. I will be taking this to Wells Fargo Bank they should be able to tell me if its legit. If so I have $200 in my pocket. If not i have scrap paper.

That is what I thought - but the letter that I received did not had a Dr's name nor the city in which the treatment was rendered (which might have helped me narrow down which Dr it came from).  I am tossing the letter.  It is is true that the funds will be turned over to the State of TN Unclaimed Property Division in 60 days I can go there in 3 or 4 months and look up my information on their State's site to see if there is, indeed, funds being held by the State with my name on them.

The funds go to the state you reside in. So if that is what Tennessee law states and you reside in Tennessee then yes, you can get the money from the State's site with no fees attached.

Was not a call but a check in the mail with this # on it. I guess that I'm not worth much. My check was only for $22.29.

Have you a check, a letter and the envelope in front of you? What info do you have that will help us figure out if the check is any good or not and maybe how the scam works.  There are a few Refund Check Scams out there, but they tend to be uncommon. Related to the Craigs List Scam.

In cyber land, scammers will try to trick you into thinking a refund that was sent to you was incorrect and demand repayment for the "over payment." Then you find out a refund was never made - or in this case, the check was bad.

If you don't have a check and are just trolling, it is easy to see you have comments to make, but no actual contribution.  This is par for trolls, so don't be getting all swoll up on yourself about being clever.

I got a similar check from the same address in Tennessee. it says it's a refund for over payment made at my " doctor's office" for $253. it looks like a very legit check, got a stub on top that has an invoice number, invoice date, a patient number, and also has routing numbers that looks like an official Wells Fargo bank check... This is very disconcerting. I've had to make a lot of payments to doctor's offices over the last calendar year, so the idea that I could be getting a refund is nice. But not if it's a scam.

Do feel bad, my check was 30.00 only.
What ever is being done, must be done better with the check being  of a lower amount.
Some people may just deposit it thinking no big deal.
The check being deposit, must be the ultimate desired outcome.
I noticed that on the check AND the receipt portion BOTH had the same water mark background.
One thing l know about business management or owners is that they wouldn't waste money on paying for protection on the "screen door"
