these people charged my granddaughter £19.05   then 10p to stop it  she's 13 yrs old and has no clue who these people are, she certainly didn't sign up for any lotto tickets.

they told me I will get free lottery tickets so I text it with no money in my phone then they gave me the lottery tickets but when I tryed to stop it would not allow me to text for free so when I toped my phone up 2 mounth later they took all my money off me and never gave me any more lottery numbers and I cant find the company any were if any body has a contack number please text me it on 07541657898

entered competition via itv.com and received txt msg's at 1.50 each sent msg back STOP ticked off as no advice of charge made clear before txt received.

Also received free lottery message.Replied "Stop 2 e".They then replied,
FreeMsg:You have been unsubscribed from any further marketing messages.Please allow 24 hours for these changes to go into effect.I was not charged for either message

You can get the free lotto lines by replying to the text you received with YES. If you only want the free ones rather than subscribing to the service remember to text STOP to the number once the free draw has happened.

I think it costs 4.50 a week for 15 lines in the euromillions, lotto wednesday/sat - not a bad deal if you play the lotto.

I tryed to text back stop, but it says message would not be sent. Any ideas? Android 4 phone.

I was told I had won 5 lottery lines then I was sent a bill which i paid as I have just recently gone onto contract. When I phones T mobile £13.50 of it was from a company called I think growth interaction I had   them stopped the messages there and then but am furious and want to get my money back. I did a survey and they said the 5 lines were a prize for doing the survey. T mobile said the number was 08708008000 but it is constantly engaged.

The best way to never receive texts messages of this type are: Try always pay attention when you accept the  Policys, Terms of Use and Cookie Policys and any other documents referred to, CAREFUL  whith any personal data  collected from you. Always say no if you been asked about sharing your personal data with other companies, You will be feed Scam companies which are not more than one office,others not even that,phone calls of added value is a way used by them to scam you a reply just to say no will cost you 1.50 , so NEVER REPLY.if you want a loan, never pay any fee in advance just because a real companies , NEVER charge you that.To win LOTTO you need to play first. be smart , think first, search on the net and you will be happy thinking ....what I got rid of.

I (stupidly) tried to claim Tescos vouchers via a Facebook post today and am now receiving text messages from this number and various spam e-mails. Tescos are advertising that it is a scam post made by someone posing as them. It may not be the ONLY way these people get your deatils but is definately is one of them.

I received a text from these about free Lotto Tickets......As i have with other companies, I text back ''F**K OFF & if you send me any more texts I will report you!.....Just got a text back saying ''You have been unsubscribed from any further marketing messages, please allow 24 Hours to go into effect''......I am fed up of texting these Morons saying 'stp' & they just carry on sending, so will have to wait & see what happens now :-)

Do not reply back to these text messages as you will begin to get charged - Simply delete them and send an email to support@lottobytext.com requesting removal as if you do that and have an email copy of them removing you from the system you will be covered to reclaim costs if they text you again or charge you. Details given to me by Orange who are fully aware of this marketing scam

Received a few texts from this number. Very annoying

Got 3 Messages, after getting halfway through a 'Mystery Shopper' survey, I didn't even complete and submit the survey as they wanted to know everything about me!! As far as I know I have not been charged and you will only be charged if you reply 'Yes'. I wasn't sure if they would charge me for replying 'STOP' so I unsubscribed via http://www.lottobytext.co.uk/unsubscriber, (copy paste the link if it does not work) and enter your phone number. Hope this works!!

PhonepayPlus has just fined LottobyText £250,000 for this scam.

BACKGROUND

Between 3 October 2011 and 28 November 2012, the Executive received 267 complaints in relation to a subscription-based competition service (the “Service”) operated by the Level 2 provider, Marketing Craze Limited. The Service operated on shortcodes 85200, 87770 and 82526.

Complainants generally stated that they had not consented to be charged, or that they had been misled into entering the Service

SANCTIONS

Initial Overall Assessment

The Service had a clear and highly detrimental impact, directly or indirectly, on consumers.
• The Service had the sole purpose of generating high revenues and did so through intentional or recklessly misleading promotions.

The Tribunal’s initial assessment was that, overall, the breach was very serious.

Sanctions Imposed

Having regard to all the circumstances of the case including the level of consumer harm and the fact that consumers were misled on a large scale, the Tribunal decided to impose the following sanctions:

• A fine of £250,000; and
• A requirement that the Level 2 provider must refund all consumers who claim a refund,

Twice message regarding lottery - all has to be down to payday uk. Upon an enquiry wanted a number so used mobile as used in car for emergency purpose I.e. call aa.

So it has to be these lot passing it on. Never will I buy lottery on line even if from national lottery direct!

It seems to be a scam from the past when they would sent a letter to an address stating you have won and give you bank details to put funds in. However many got caught out as transfer was other way and most were foreign based I.e. Spain

Texting back will inform them the number is active like an e-mail and instead it will cost you to stop them at premium rates as you cannot see the ate prior to calling which is not local rates.

Scam now selling lottery on mobile rather than letter as in past

I have had 4 texts in one day from this number. I tried to text stop, but it would not send, I kept getting "Message could not be sent" no matter how many times I tried, with full signal too.

I have been doing research and have been told by many that there's some sort of loop hole, they bill you whenever you receive the text. This being true or not I do not know,

I am now trying to find some sort of blocking method. I don't want to go through this again.

If you have a smartphone then you can add a call and text blocker.

I use an Android phone with TouchPal Dialer that has a blocker built in and you can also download blocking apps from the Play Store.

I don’t know how well these things work in practice as I have never need one on my mobile and hope it stay that way however I do have a Call Blocker on my land line.

I assume Apple and Windows phones have similar features.
