Got another call today (6/24/09) telling me I had won a prize in a sweepstakes I had entered; never entered a sweepstakes so I could not be a winner.  Caller said this was the last time they would try to get in touch with me.  Number to call back was toll free 1-877-708-2920 extension 0, Nick Ball.  Sounded phony to me so I did NOT return the call.
What kind of scam are they running and who are they?????

Caller ID showed this number:  708-679-0827 but gave the number 877-708-2920 ext 0 as the call back, and was computer sounding voice saying it was Nick Ball, did not call, researched first and found this under a google search for 'phone call from Nick Ball' since I wasn't 100% on the toll free number, and nothing turned up for the direct dial number, other than some people's last name Larry, maybe the caller ID was spoofed or it was at someone's house using an autodialer, not sure...

I have a screening service that allows people to announce themselves, no announcement on here, but I answered anyway to catch the tail end of the recording, not the whole msg, so I didn't know what it was about until now...

Just got a call, on my caller ID it said "Dr Heart Scan" which looked wierd since I haven't seen a heart dr so I let the machine pick up. I got the same guy Nick Ball telling me that I had been selected as a finalist in the drawing for a new ford explorer or lincoln navigator. I didn't call back since I looked on here 1st.

I received a call from 877-708-2920 ext 0 stating that I entered a contest and won one of 4 prizes -one of which could be a Lincoln SUV. All I had to do was show up to a meeting on July 9th at 8pm to address 18342 West Creek Drive. To claim my prize.
Of course I need to forms of ID including a passport-sounds like a scam-of course I am curious.
Also told me I have to have my husband with me

The company over on West Creek Drive is a vacation club trying to suck somebody into joining.  I was called from the same 877 phone number about 2 months ago, did a bit of research, (and drove by the location to see who this was), and learned that the "prize" was still several steps away for anybody to win.You, with your spouse, had to sit thru 2 hours of high pressure BS before figureing out there were probably no prises to win.

recieved a call from Nick Ball sounded like he had a bad cold very weird. Saying I was a finalist for a ford suv or lincoln.. these people drive me nuts this is a joke Im not calling back. placed his number in my block list. Whats great if he calls back my phone will be disconnected after july 14 so good riddens to you! lol

Second call received from this number 7-14-09 from Doug Light at ext. 0 telling me the call was in reference to a drawing in which I might be the winner of a Ford Explorer or Lincoln Navigator SUV.  Did not return either call.  Figured it might be a scam...Callback number given was 877-708-2920.

I just received a call from 708-679-0759 saying I am a finalist in a drawing to win a Ford Explorer or Lincoln Navigator.  Call back number is Nick Ball at 877-708-2920 ext 0.  SCAM since we didn't enter any drawing.

They wanted my licence, didnt know my name although I entered the form 12 to 18 months ago and a credit card to enter the 90 presentation. I dont have time for this bull **** and wondered how and why then it dawned on me its a reverse prospection software for incomes 50,000 and up in a certain radius of there  office. It is all on line its got to be a fake thing used on line when i was filling out an application. The f****** nerve of these people. With all thats going on they use this [***] to get you to think you won something and sit here no kids blah blah.....Thanks for nothing nick ball clear your throat.

Thanks for all the info, you guys. I just received the same call from "Douglas Light" saying that I'd won an SUV and that this was the last time he'd try and contact me.

I am the owner of The Only Way to Travel.  My office has received two calls from people telling me that they received a message to call 877-708-2920 about a trip they have won in a sweepstakes sponsored by The Only Way to Travel.  I have no idea who this company is.  The Only Way to Travel is not a sponsor of any such sweepstakes.

On 8/1/2009 @ 2:04PM I had a message on my answering machine placed from 1-708-679-1597, by "Nick Ball", requesting that I call 1-877-708-2920.  "Nick" claimed that it was urgent that he speak with me... that my entry (in what I do not know) is a finalist to win a Ford Explorer or Lincoln Navigator. I did call Both numbers back the afternoon of 8/1/2009 (after 4PM)... There was no answer at either number.

Regarding the message I received on 8/1/09...  I found the phone number on peoplefinder.com -- 1-708-679-1597 -- is listed to an address at 100 Cedar Ridge Lane, Richton Park, IL 60471-2248.  The name of the individual is also listed, D.Mann.

yup I just got the call from Nick Ball at 877-708-2920 about the stupid sweepstakes for Ford Explorer or Lincoln Navigator.  I KNEW this was a scam but I called anyways to mess with them.   I let him go through the entire speech about what we 'won' and then I said so what is the catch?  and he (it was Michael Gates, this time) said, I am sorry Ma'am I don't know what you mean.'. riiiiight Mikey...When I asked if there was a website or number I can call to verify that this is legit, he said, please have your husband call me and we can speak to him LOL!! man I hate people

The same # 877-708-2920 left me a message: "It's imperative that you return my call, this is Nicholas Ball." I did return the call & was told that "Nicholas" was on another line, but the guy who answered wanted to "verify my information." When I told him I needed to know what this was about before I gave him my personal info, he said it's about an entry that was submitted to win an SUV. I told him nobody submitted any entries and he needs to take my name off his list!!! He hung up on me, must've known I wasn't buying his B.S.

They asked my name, then said my entry indicated I was between 35 and 70 years of age, had a household income in excess of 50K and was married.  All true.  They want me and my husband to come to the Holiday Inn in San Marcos tomorrow at 4 p.m. to get a scratch off to claim one of four prizes.  We'll be out by 5:30 he said, but bring no kids and two forms of ID - drivers license and passport or credit card.  Glad I checked this site.  They said the sweepstakes are sponsored by Exclusive Gateway.  If I have any questions, I can call the same number back, extension 14, for Michael Gates.

Received message from Douglas Light 8/20/2009 saying my name was draw to win either a Ford Explorer or Lincoln Navigator.  Figured it was a scam.  Callback info is 877-708-2920 Ext. 0.

Got the 'you're a finalist to win a Ford Explorer', blah, blah, blah.
And yes, I am on the do not call list!
Don't call back, because then they really have your number on ID.
I hope someone is paying attention. The next call I'm making is turning these guys in!
