- ggI got the call from the same number. I don't have a BOA credit card. When I called back, someone asked for my name and she told me that my phone number was on somebody's profile in 2003 and he/she never deleted the phone number.
- Caller: BOA
- charlie| 3 repliesall you guys are past due on somthing and that is the reason that they are calling you.
- Pay your BILLssss| 5 repliesThis # is legit. This # is an east coast # for a Bank of America banking center. If you are askd to call this number back or receive a call from this #, you are past due on your credit card. We go by FIA Card Services because we deal with Bank of America lines of credit and other lines of credit outside of BOA..if you answer your phone, we would be able to help you. We DO NOT harass. We don't give out your confidential and personal info to just anybody. We need to make sure we are speaking with the correct person so we can discuss your personal account info and that is why we confirm we're speaking with you and verify address..we have all of your information. The only reason we may have the wrong address is because you use a PO Box and forgot that's the address you gave us or if you changed addresses and never informed us. If you got a call from us, you DO hold business with us and we are only trying to assist you. We do NOT solicite.
I work for BOA.- Caller: Bank of America AKA FIA Card Services
- Call type: Debt collector
- Mary| 4 repliesI got a call and the message said to call card services at 877-733-5734. I know my ex-husband has an overdue credit card with Bank of America. I have no credit cards with Bank of america. How did they get my cell phone #? They would not give me any info other than it was about a credit card or line of credit. When I gave them my ex's last name and zip code the caller said he needed more info to pull up the account. I refused to give any info. I have a different last name. Why would they call me? I have nothing to do with my ex.
- Caller: Card services
- ... replies to Mary| 3 repliesIf he has ever used your phone to call BOA then that # is stored as a # to reach him at..the reason they ask for info on him is because of recent high risk in identity theft.. in order to discuss confidential info w anyone besides the card holder, we ask that..this all just started this month.
- Mary replies to ...| 2 repliesMy phone was used to check the account info. with the automated system. Does BOA record and store the #'s of all the callers who call and plug in an account # to get info? If someone blocks the # then they can't record it.
Now he is overdue on his account. I have my own BOA checking account and ATM card but no credit card with BOA. How do I get them to stop calling me? When they call they asked for Mr. or Mrs. and it's only his card. Would they actually discuss his account with me and why? - ... replies to Mary| 1 replyIt is absolutely legal to discuss spouses accounts with other spouses. If you don't want calls at this phone #, call in or next time they call you, request no calls at this #. We're required to obey your request but we still need at least one contact #. BOA handles many different types of credit cards. If the calls are about his credit card, then that's all we're calling about..not about your BOA checking info. Unfortunately, he agreed to the calls when he signd up for the credit card. We try the best we can to work with past due customers to help them afford a payment so if he hasn't already - he needs to call us at this # everyone is freaking out about.
k hope i helped-have a great day! :)
oh ps i do work for BOA if i havent already said that - ... replies to ...oh but you did say ex-hsbnd..we must have gotten this # from before when you were married..yeah just tell us not call you at this # anymore.
- amber| 1 replyJust got a call from a 999-999-9999 and said to return this call about my FIA card. The number to call was 1-877-733-5734. They wanted me to tell them my address and I would not. They said that Bank of America card services had bought Charles Schwab. I called Charles Schwab and they said that their card services had not been bought by Bank of America. Don't tell them anything. Not legitament.
- franksa| 1 replyGot calls and messages from "card services". I checked with my bank directly and they told me my account was in good standing and there's no reason for any calls.
- John H replies to charlie| 2 repliesI don't have an account with BoA, either now or in the past. So why exactly is "card services" leaving messages on my machine????
- Linda replies to amberNo..Bank of America goes by FIA Card Services when dealing with credit cards. That associate may have just not known what they were talking about. Bank of America handles other companies credit cards for them. The reason they asked for your address was to verify that you were the card holder they were speaking to. We can't just give out personal account info to anyone. That person that called you already had your address on a screen in front of them.
- Linda replies to franksaIf you're confused about the messages, odds are:
Card Services meant to call somebody else. Maybe they had an old # on file and now you have it. Haven't you ever called someone before and had the wrong #? It's common. If they're still calling you, call back. What's it gonna hurt?
I work for FIA Card Services/BOA - Linda replies to John H| 1 replyIs your name in the messages? If not, forget about them. If the messages keep coming, call them and find out why they're calling you. FIA Card Services is for all types of credit cards, not just BOA. If you have a credit card that's past due, FIA Card Services will call you. Pay your bills--if you can't afford to, FIA Card Services is calling to help you.
- JonnyI got a call from some rude person asking for my sister. Told them she didn't owe any debts, but the caller insisted otherwise. I asked for written proof by mail and they told me they couldn't. Sounds pretty fishy. Checked with my sister and she confirmed that there should be no collectors calling. Legitimate or not, I don't see anyone with common sense would actually hand over their personal information or cooperate with these guys- they just sound so scammy.
- Caller: scammers
- Niko replies to LindaI've been trying to convince these people that I'm NOT the person they're looking for for sometime now. Heck, I haven't own a credit card in 7 years and have NEVER gone into debt. They keep promising to remove my name, but I just received another message today! If anyone got the mailing address of these [***], please post it. I want to file a complaint.
- RalphieGot a message from these people when I came home. I tried calling a few times but I got either a machine or was put on hold. When I did get through, they asked for personal information. I refused, hung up, and contacted my card providers directly. They assured me I didn't have anything to be worried about. These "card services" guys are very suspicious. I'm not sure whether they're con-artists or one of those dishonest collector that goes after zombie debts. When in doubt, NEVER give out personal information to anyone you don't know.
- Consumer replies to Pay your BILLssssThen send a notice by mail, don't harass people late at night trying to collect money or arrange for an auto-pay calling from an Unknown Phone Number you dumb POS's.
