How is it a scam? You took out a loan or line of credit from a private money lender. This company baught your debt from that lender and now owns it. They call you and give you a chance to pay it back voluntarily or they have every right to sue you and place a judgment against you through small claims court and at that point can garnish taxible income. Pay ur bill or they will have a judge take it from your paycheck its that simple.

Legit collection agencies don't pay morons like you to shill online for them. Thus we can correctly conclude that it is a SCAM and that you are one of the SCAMMERS.

Now go back to the boiler room, your crack pipe's getting cold!

This is a scam, thank God I never talked to them!!!

I had a  different number but was AFG and same thing. They called a relative and told them I was being served papers in a county four hours away from me so I called that county court house and they had no record of it and said they would mail any thing in regards to serving me. My relative then  gets another call a few days later saying the case has been moved to the court in my local county and being served papers by 3pm ( call was around 2pm). I called and talked to them and they kept saying it was a debt owed.  I had paid it off years ago but no longer have proof of paying since check was converted into a ACH so no copy of check sent back to me or on record other than amount and check number. My questions is if they are legit then why do they say I am about to be served etc.......No one can be honest any more?

Very professional? I just had one of the agents cuss me out over the phone when I wouldnt agree to electronic payments because this company isnt with the BBB. This company sucks and so does everyone who has ever worked there.

If your ex company is ligitimate then why they using phony court file numbers etc to scare you into paying an old debt? Get real too many complaints have already been logged against AFG and if anyone ever shows up at my door to serve papers he will face a sheriff with who is aware of this scam!! and he will be arrested for trespassing!! Plus my mean dog will attack him!!

Actually, if they are a real company and not a scam, they are the most unprofessional group I have ever had the dis-pleasure of speaking to. I am a law student and know better than to fall for bull-s... scammers like these people. You are very smart for leaving this company if in fact you are telling the truth.

I HAVE BEEN GETTING CALLS FROM THESE SCAMERS FROM 954-346-4084 AND LEAVING ME MESSAGES ABOUT A WARRANT FOR MY ARREST. HOWEVER WHEN I CALL THEM THEY DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE, BUT A RECORDING SAYS THEY ARE CLOSED.

None of you would have anything to worry about if you simply pay your bills on time. Then you wouldn't have to worry about things like this happening, also if you fall for this then you only have yourself to blame for not be more diligent and looking into this matter. Now I know for sure that the AFG & Associates located in South Florida is a legit company cause their office is no more then 20 feet away from building. But there is one located out of California that is a scam and that people should watch out for

I have dealt with them and they are professional and worked with me to find a payment plan i could afford.  NO harrasment or threats. I am almost paid off and proud of it!
