Just had a call from the same company - bill me later. same routine. referenced someone illegally charging a rotating account. referenced paypal and ebay. I called paypal and they said they work with bill me later but showed no inquiry into my account. showed no record of it. also referenced getting a credit report one of the credit companies. scam.

I got a call on me answering machine that said I should call them back at 877-981-2126 about someone doing something online that they were checking.  They also left me a # to reference.  
Instead I called 800-888-361-0687 which is the number I found on my phone that they had called from.  I asked for the name of the company at this number and a man said it was the Bundle Processor Dept.  He said he didn't know anything about a security check or the other # I gave him.
Needless to say I didn't reply to the message.

Same as above.  Reference number was 906 and answering machine cut off the rest.  Call originated from 888-361-0687

I got a call to. I verified with Bill me Later at 866-528-3733 that indeed the number 877-981-2126 is from them.

I was asked to call 8779812126! Who the hell is this?? They said it was about a "purchase attempt." My ass. Wanted last four of ssn, I said "no" he said "well, uh, if your not comfortable with that can I have date of birth?" Hung up.....

Got a phone call left on my answering machine and requested to call back at 877-981-2126. Reference# was given too. Was told it's regarding paypal creditcard. I double check with paypal phone# and it didn't seem to match.

I got a call from 1-888-361-0687 the lady claims to be from paypal & left a ref # along with a number to call back. I called the guy asked me for my first & last name told him all I will give you is the ref# nothing more. He said well I can not help you unless you give me your full name told him that will not happen & hung up.

Caller said he was from Pay Pal. He asked for me by name and asked if I had tried to open a credit account. He then asked for the last 4 of my SSN. A call to Pay Pal shot his story to hell. Pay Pal said they would never ask for information like that.

Same as all the rest. Said they were from PayPal and someone tried to open an account in my name. I called PayPal and they said it was not them.

Received a message with a call back number of 877-981-2126. Caller left a reference number and wanted to verify recent activity.

I called paypal customer service directly (1-866-528-3733) and gave them the reference number that had been left in the message. Paypal was able to verify the reference number in the message and their records showed that paypal had indeed called and left the message that came from 877-981-2126

Got a call from that number from a "Cody" claiming to be from PayPal and asking me to call back because there was a problem with the billing on my account.

Scam.   Called about pay pal account with security.   I called pay pal and they had no record of the call or anything wrong with my account.   Don't call this number.

They're still calling! Call comes in from "Toll Free Caller" (888-361-8687). They leave a call back number of 877-361-8687. They want to verify a possibly fraudulent purchase on PayPal. The operator is very persistent yet reasonable sounding. Ask for SSN, address, etc. Want to send a "Affidavit of Fraud" to home address.  PayPal, as others reported, says they have no connection to this phone number/company.

I had a message on my home phone from "Mia at Paypal Credit Customer Security" asking me to call
her back at 877-981-2126 with twelve digit reference number.  I got a guy on the phone who wanted me to verify my social security number, home address, and telephone number. I gave him the first five digits of the reference number and he already knew my name, the street I live on, and my birth year but I never gave him my name, did not finish giving the reference number and I was calling from an anonymous google phone. It struck me as strange so I asked him to explain who they are. He explained that they are a line of credit called Paypal Credit. I told him I wanted to research this more and I am glad I did.
