i got a call from this 888 number so i aswered... i dont kno how they got my husbands name but wen i told him that he was at work they asked if i had any "candy"... wen i went to ask who it was they hung up.. i dont appriciate this and whoever it is needs to stop.

I have received about 5 of these unsolicited calls over the past week. Finally, I answered it.

Immediately, the guy on the other end, "Nick", geeted me with my name and said I had signed up for them to call me. Well, that's a crock of crap Nick!

Now, here's how you get rid of them. I have a small "air horn" in the house and right when I start a conversation and "bate them" with questions (I know they're listening)I hold the phone away from me and blast the air horn into the phone.

See, they wear head sets so it breaks their ear drums. Since doing this, I have not had one call from these arrogant [***].

The Do Not Call list is a joke. The Attorney General is to busy, and I am not hopping on the next red eye to find these morons, so a good air horn blast makes them think twice about calling me on my cell phone. Hope this helps you all. Peace and quiet...just like it used to be.

they call and leave no message. I just called the number back and the guy said, Hi Bettina...... I told them I am on the do not call list and he said YOU CALLED ME! - well long story short, he said they would take me off the list - we'll see.....

I have recently become extermely handicapped from a car accident so this constant phone calling that I am being subjected to is not only annoying but is also somewhat dangerous. I can never make it to the phone before they hang up.  I would just ignore the thing if I wasn't concerned that it might be a dr. or some therapy-related call.  Can the phone co. block calls from a specif phone #?

I have gotten several phone calls a day from this number.  I am on a Do Not Call Registry and they pay no attention to this list.  I have not signed up for any business at home or financial information.  I wish there were some way to stop these people.

Don't worry guys I won't call again :) I just wanted a friend that would give me money.

I keep getting calls from this number as well. I figured it was solicitation. Thanks for the info. I just do not answer.

WOW. So, after receiving phone calls from them for a while, I decided to call back. The phone call went a little like this:

"Hi, thanks for calling *didn't catch all of it* financial. This is Trevor speaking, how can I help you?"

Me- "Hi, I just received a phone call from you guys and I'd really like to be taken off the list."

"Well, the reason we called you was because you're on our list of people who would like to make money from home."

Me- "I am not interested and I would really like to be taken off the list."

"You don't want to make money from home??? Why is that??"

Me- "No I don't want to make money from home. I rather not discuss it. I would like to just be taken off the list."

"Oh, ok."

CLICK.

WTF? These people are shady.

BE CAREFUL,, SCAM FROM NIGERIA.  BAD BUSINESS.  WATCH OUT.

Go to the DNC site and file a complaint.

There has been a rash of companies like this over the past few weeks who are gambling that they can make enough money fast enough to offset the weak penalties assessed by the FTC for violating the DNC list.

A weak economy brings the criminals out in force.  Report them and get the shut down and/or prosecuted.  Especially the one's with the smarter-than-you attitude.  I'll be happy to give them a jar of Vaseline for Christmas as the head off to jail.
