    These people are calling my job, every day, for want,  I don't have an clue. I don't take unknown calls at my job. They don't say what the call is about, The person just leave his name Steven Brown. This is totally weird, for someone to call and not leave any information, why they called in the first place.This company and person really needs to stop calling my job. what ever you are trying to do is not working, I'm also going to report all the calls that has been made so far.

    Left a message on my work phone, which I happened to be listening to when my boss was next to me. I don't know what it is about. I have no outstanding debts. I am current with all my bills. They cannot call my work!

    This is interesting.

    I've checked 3 different "who called" type sites and these guys posted the first message on 31-DEC-2008 on all 3 sites and the first post after is on 8th or 9th of Jan vouching that these guys will stop calling if you e-mail them.

    Something smells fishy....

    I just got a call from a gal named Tanya from Leading Edge Recovery Systems. She tried to fast talk me into making a payment and to admit that the debt is mine. She tried to quickly give me her phone number to call her directly. I told her that 1. She shouldnt expect to hear from me because I dont do phone conversations with collection agencies and that they need to send me a letter so I can get validation from them that the debt is mine and that I am leaglly obligated to pay. As well in this same letter I am going to tell them not to call my phone, or anyone one else I know...including my employment.
    If anyone needs a general Validation letter to send to them check it out right here:

    All of you need to send them a letter demanding validation. Even if you know you owe the debt, you need to make sure that you have a legal obligation to pay them. With all the identity theft going around these days you would be smart to validate the debt and tell them to NOT call your phone numbers and CERTAINLY not to call you at work. If they continue they are in violation of federal law.
    In one of my posts I posted a link where you can draw up a validation letter.
    I wish you all luck.

    Here is a cut and Paste of the FDCPA (Federal Debt Collection Practices Act)
    that pertains precisely with Debt Validation. Know your rights, and good luck!
    § 809.  Validation of debts   [15 USC 1692g]

    (a) Within five days after the initial communication with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt, a debt collector shall, unless the following information is contained in the initial communication or the consumer has paid the debt, send the consumer a written notice containing --

    (1) the amount of the debt;

    (2) the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed;

    (3) a statement that unless the consumer, within thirty days after receipt of the notice, disputes the validity of the debt, or any portion thereof, the debt will be assumed to be valid by the debt collector;

    (4) a statement that if the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, the debt collector will obtain verification of the debt or a copy of a judgment against the consumer and a copy of such verification or judgment will be mailed to the consumer by the debt collector; and

    (5) a statement that, upon the consumer's written request within the thirty-day period, the debt collector will provide the consumer with the name and address of the original creditor, if different from the current creditor.

    (b) If the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period described in subsection (a) that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, or that the consumer requests the name and address of the original creditor, the debt collector shall cease collection of the debt, or any disputed portion thereof, until the debt collector obtains verification of the debt or any copy of a judgment, or the name and address of the original creditor, and a copy of such verification or judgment, or name and address of the original creditor, is mailed to the consumer by the debt collector.

    (c) The failure of a consumer to dispute the validity of a debt under this section may not be construed by any court as an admission of liability by the consumer.

    One more thing! I am sorry to keep writing like this, but any sort of communication with these people MUST..I repeat MUST be done through mail. Make sure there is a paper trail for every sort of communication you have with them. Just incase you need to take their shady behinds to court.
    Collection Agencies will lie lie lie!!! Tell you one thing over the phone and then act as if they never agreed to certain terms.
    And if you were to send a letter of validation they couldnt call you anyways, all communication would have to be through mail. (Certified mail, and at times Return Receipt)
    **added note** But if the collection Agency can legitimately validate the debt you will have to pay, and dont be scared to offer a settlement of the account.

    Collection Agencies pay pennies to the dollar to the original creditor for the alleged debt.

    Keep getting calls from a Steven Brown at 888-306-0431. I don't know who this person is or who he is with. I let the calls go to the answering machine to record all of this guys messages. He just says to call him back at above number, but gives no reason for the call or who he is looking for. I am also on the national no call list. He better stop calling, or he will be reported to my state attorneys office.

    This is a scam. Do not bother calling "Steven Brown" back, as 1) he does not exist, and 2) they will try to sell you 'cheap computers' but in the end will drain your account and never actually send you the computer at all... Many people have fallen victim to this scam, so don't be one of them!

    They keep calling and calling, leaving no messages. They appear to be some kind of debt collectors from what I've been reading.

    I'm 19 years old. I don't have contracts with anyone or borrow money. Why would they be calling me>

    This company LER and has repeatedly violated the FDCPA laws and do not abide by Cease and Desist Notifications especially related to Bankruptcy stays.  We are in the process of filing numerous complaints with various State Attorney Generals for the failure to comply and blatent numerous violations.

    This is such a crock. I'm in Oregon; they call every day and leave a recorded message on my answering machine. I'm sure the idea is to harass people until their recorders fill up with these messages, THEN they figure you'll eventually answer the phone.

    I won't. And I won't send any kind of letter to them. They already have my telephone number, and I'll be damned if I'm going to give them my full name and address.

    The laws on debt collectors must have been severely curtailed, as I get calls like this ALL THE TIME. I change my phone number due to the harassment, and another batch of the worms call. And I haven't got a single delinquent debt. It's just pure harassment.

    I have been receiving calls from Vincent Grey for months. I spoke with someone months ago and told them I am not the party they are looking for. My name is the same but DOB and last digits of SS # do not I match. I get several calls per week. I emailed to day and asked them to please stop harrasing me. I've had more than enough of these calls, several each week.

    They keep calling my house.  I called and asked (a woman answered).  I asked who this company is what do they do and what do they want.  They hung up on me. They may be licensed but that don't make them lawbiding nor honest.
