calling family members giving out all kind of information that they know nothing about nor do i and i have not recieved any letters from them.. how they got family numbers not sure .. but the internet gives out everything these days.. what do we do.????

As nearly as I can tell, once Richard gets your number he'll just keep calling forever. There is no way to stop him, the best you can do is annoy the real people behind the #1. What I do is dial 1 and lay the phone down until the off the hook alarm sounds. I do it every time he calls. At least a human is annoyed as much as they annoy me. Richard calls because the person who had this number before us FIVE YEARS AGO had unpaid bills, I've explained this to Richard's people, but they don't care, so I don't care about them.

If everyone did this, Richard would eventually have to research the numbers he uses more carefully.

They are calling my work. The # they call is an emergency line for a police dept, they need to stop calling it.

Today I got a call from the same guy, same voice as Richard Silver, but now the message said it's Vincent Gray.  Otherwise the same message as before.  Weird - Did the telemarketer really change his name, or does he just think I'll take the bait and call back if I think it's someone else?

All Im getting is a recording stating this is Richard Silver. This is rediculouse on these damn scams if you realy owed a bill they would send you the bill in the mail.This person needs to be turned in sued for fraud

I get this call to my cell phone to call this number..  I will not call back as it is unknown to me,

This is a new phone number for me and apparently the person who had it before me, William Carter
is wanted by a lot of people and companies.  I don't know what he did wrong, but
I now his phone number and it's a real pain in the neck!

Some guy named Richard Silver keeps calling my phone all day every day, doesnt leave a company name or anything and I don't know anyone by the name of  richard silver. It doesnt matter what time it is this gut is calling and even on sundays and leaves no information. I really wish he would stop calling my phone its really starting to piss me of!

They are calling me too.   Its simply rude to just not provide any information on why they are contacting me.   Needless to say, I hang up when a robot calls me.

I really need to answer and waste these people's time.  Just keep talking and talking and asking them how much they are loosing an hour on me not paying their BS claim that I owe them money.

ha!  I did this years ago to some evil wench who was harrassing me.  Poor thing....no wonder she was such a wich...only making a few dollars an hour....when I grow up I want to make a few dollars an hour harrassing people I don't know and threatening them to make my sorry self feel better....looossssseeeeerrrrrrrrssssssssss

Actually a collection agency HAS to send you a demand letter prior to collecting a debt.  Once they send the demand letter you MUST SEND them a debt validation letter requesting copies of any and all contacts signed by you.  Once you receive these documents (which they won't have) you either (a) verify the debt or (b) the debt is not valid.  If the collection company cannot provide the documents they cannot collect for the debt.

The do not call registry is not through the federal government.  It is only for the state you live in and it does not apply to cell phones.

got a call at 6 pm. i picked up the phone even thow i didnt recognize the number. said hello they hung up no message no conversation nothing. dont know why they called whoever they are. must be scamers with no back bone.

JohnQ - Yes, the do not call registry can include cell phone numbers.  It is not discriminatory of what kind of line you have......It is just based on the phone numbers as I have done it before.
