Do not call my number again....

I'm thinking about trying to payback a $2000 lone I took in 1989 but now it's almost 8000!!!
Please let me know if they will really help me - bring it down or work with me? I'm in my 60's and only have a small income. They have been calling and writing, making me very nervous afraid of what they will do! Thank you for any info you can give me, Becky

Stop calling my office. Just stop.

Someone at this number is harassing me while I am teaching in my classroom, wanting to take me away from teaching my students.

Someone from this number named Alan Falcon has called my mother and my very elderly grandparents looking for me, and will only tell them he is "conducting an investigation" and leave his number and extension. He even told my grandmother he would call my sister next, but called her by her name! Rude and creepy. If they were trying to collect from me for an old loan, why not call me? And why harrass my family??? In this day and age you can never know if they are legit or hackers and theives.  Scary

My husband received a letter in the mail saying that he had a student loan which he doesn't. The number 1-888-335-6267 ext 6581 is the phone number on the paper. My husbands last name was spelled wrong not even close. Now I am receiving credit card applications in the mail with the same name. Not sure what to do about that.

Person calls in attempt to collect information but will not provide information to why they are calling. Assuming its in attempt to collect a debt.

Do NOT call these people back and do not answer your phone if you don't know the number!

Now this collection agency is calling and leaving messages pretending it is " to lower your credit card interest rate" or " you have qualified for a free home security system." I never called them back because I already KNOW that trick.

This collection agency trick is that they call you and act as if they are offering you something, then they want you to call back and give them your information " to be removed" from the list, supposedly. Then they bother you mercilessly if you give them your information. Don't give them anything and don't confirm anything. DO NOT cal them back.

Report the to your State Atty General and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Trust me - even if you are NOT the person they are trying to call, they will still keep calling you and bothering you because they just want to bother someone. Take action against them.

They robocall constantly, call and hang up leaving no message, or call and leave stupid messages saying they want to lower the interest rate on my credit card or give me a free home security system. Yeah, sure. Jerks.
