- TeresaI *69'd to get this number (I do not have caller ID). It's good to know it was a charity calling and not leaving a message, rather than something important!
- JenGot a call from this number on our business line. When I answered with the company's name, they just hung up without a word. Rude!
- LibertinaNo message left on voicemail.
- Caller: Unknown Name
- AngelCalls at least twice a week..........More than my boyfriend, ha!
- KathleenThese people identify themselves as Landmark Financial and have called though I am on the do not call list and after I told them to stop. They are very annoying and the last one was rude.
- Caller: Landmark Financial
- RogerReceived a call this afternoon, when I answered I heard people laughing and talking and then the call was disconnected. When I called the number I received a recorded message.
- Caller: Navy Veteran Assoc.
- Kevincaller from this number identified himself as from US Naval Veterans organization. I told him I wasn't interested. That was 10/4 afternoon. They called again a little after 3:30 today. When I answered the phone, no one responded. (I don't have caller ID. Used *69)
- Caller: US Naval Veterans something
- SwirlyGrrlThey call every once in a while (once a week or so) with the Call ID "Children's Hope". I suspect that they do this in MA to be legal, as we are on the "do not call" list and they can't make unidentified calls here. I haven't answered yet, and it sounds like I shouldn't.
- MarekKeeps calling me at night. I filed a complaint at the do-not-call site where my phone is registered https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx
- Caller: Navy Vets
- LCnot sure if this is a hoax, but they got me to commit to a 10.00 donation for a care packet / for the navy, and they started asking for 40.00 first. i am looking to see if this would be a real donation, and found this site. Not sure if i want to send my donation now. maybe i should just find another way to donate to our troops, officially.
- Caller: unavailable
- CindyCalled and Caller ID said Toll-Free #....so I called the number back said it was the U.S. navy Veteran Charity and no one was available to take my call. Put in my Caller Rejection list.
- Caller: toll-free
- MannaThis number showed up on my caller Id, I answered it (home-business phone, have to answer it). They asked for someone completely different than anyone who works with our company. Told them they had the wrong number, and I hung up on him before he could say anything else. He was kind of laughing when I told him he had the wrong number, Figured it was a telemarketer.
- Caller: no clue
- VelmaGot a call at about 12:50 pm. Young woman identiried herself as from US Naval Veterans organization. First clue that she was hired knownohting. When I told her my husband was a Coastie, she said that they represent all 4 organizations. So I told her she had skipped our branch if they only represented 4. Second clue that she was a hired knownothing. So she started telling me about care packages, and I told her about my local neighborhood grocery store that does Care packages for $20. Told her thank you for calling and hung up. So on the strength of that exchange, I guess that I will send another care package via Raley's next time I go in. I know they are honest.
- Caller: US Naval Veterans organization
- Sheldon Malinno message left on machine really annoying
- MO person12 Oct 2007 5:47 PM. This number has called numerous times over the past year. Last year they said they were calling from DC requesting donations for the US Navy veterans' care packages to send to Iraq. # is on the state and national no call lists, but this vets'charity website did appear legitimate. However, the 2006 donation form came from Springfield, MO and not DC. Thanks so much everyone for the information!
- Caller: TOLL FREE CALL
- JoyeAt 5:02 PM EST. I received a call - the conversation started with "Hello, and I replied back "Hi". Then the caller a male voice said "Glad to hear that Mam".
The spiel went off about donations to the Navy in Iraq. Once the man had stopped speaking so I could reply again, I said "I have family in the Navy, and serving in Iraq, I donate to the AmVets and the Paraylzed Vets of America" with that I got a rude CLICK!
Scammers... shame they are using our Troops as bait.- Caller: ? Claimed to be with the Navy
- StephGot a call at 7:24pm today central time. Answered and heard laughing and then was hung up on. Got a call again 3 minutes later at 7:27pm from same number, didnt answer this time just let it go to answering machine and of course they did not leave a message.
- Caller: Toll Free Call
- JohnBcalls all hours of the day. i told them to stop calling after finding this web site. hopefully it will work.
- TerryReceived message on answering machine. First a snide statement in spanish and then a second person came on and used vulgar language in English. I still have the recording which I will attempt to get to some authorities.
- MartinGCaller ID shows a call while I was out. I agree with the premise that telemarketing for "charity" is a fake. They never leave a message with an address to mail a contribution to. According to others "U.S. Navy Vets" is the "charity", and in my own experience they have been a repeat offender. I think that if they call when I am in I will use the tactic of making a "contribution" with fake data. It punishes them by wasting their time trying to process it.
