This is a bogus call center who is using the Iraq war as a means to get money.  This is not sponsored by the Navy or anyone who is directly connected to the military.  If you wish to donate to the troops overseas, contact your local Veterans Organizations, such as Am Vets, American Legion, VFW, or contact your local reserve or national guard units.  DO NOT SUPPORT THESE SCAM COMPANIES, ESPECIALLY IN THE NAME OF OUR TROOPS IN IRAQ !!!!!!!

I received many calls with no message left. When i finally had enough, i picked up the phone. The man asked for someone who i had no idea who it was, as i explained to him the situation and asked him to KINDLY take my phone # off their caller list, he was an [***] and cowardly hung up. Great waste of time. I've called this number around 100 times and left messages which will probably never be heard, but i felt vindicated......

Unites Stated Navy Veteran Association

It appears to me that they have telemarketers call you and then you send donation to the Unites Stated Navy Veteran Association.  Since the donation you make is tax deductible it does not go through to the telemarketer.  In the address it has PMB 263 Contrib Process CTR-FL which leads me to believe this is how the Unites Stated Navy Veteran Association keeps track of which telemarketer to pay. If I do contribute I will contribute directly to them and not use this envelope.

Got a call from the about 10 minutes ago... Even though you cant call the FCC on them because they are a non-profit organization and exempt from the "do not call list", you can call the IRS on them..

You'd be surprised how willing the IRS is to investigate non profit organizations. My Mom is a CPA for a cooperation, and she had to attend a tax seminar for non profit organizations.

She told me that the IRS uses any excuse to nit pick at non-profit organizations, because they are usually exempt from taxes..

so to scare them (i have done it and it works, tell them to take your number off the call list or you will call the IRS on them and make a report of "suspected Non-profit tax fraud."

and of course the person will argue that what they do is legal and has the approval of the IRS, but all you need to tell them is that "Regardless of weather you are legal or not, if the IRS smells fraud they will be all over you with a fine tooth comb. So while you may be legal, that wont prevent the IRS from making your life a living hell for the next year or so"

I received a call from them today. The lady identified herself and said she was calling from ASC and wanted a $200.00 (you read it correctly) donation to sent care packages to the Navy sailors in Iraq. I told her that I have a U.S. Marine over there and I support him and his platoon by sending them stuff when they request it. She said , "that's fine, but this is for the Navy." I told her that the Marines are part of the Navy and she told me that they were not! I laughed at her and said my late father was a Navy man and my son is a Marine so I know what I'm talking about. She got rather rude with me and offered to send me an envelope so I could send back my donation of $200.00. I asked where do I send it to and was told that it was a PO Box number. I told her I don't think so.

A person called me from 888 398-2271 and asked to speak to me in person.  He knew my name and when I got on the phone he hung up.

These peopla have called our home at least 15 times a day for the last 2 weeks. Who are they?  We don't answer ANY calls with a toll-free phone number, but we're getting very tired of getting nothing but toll-free calls (at least 50 a day).

Got a call on answering machine from 888-398-2271 -- left no message. This was about 1 min(as shown on Ans Mach) after a call from 207-233-5702 no message which has been calling too.

This number called and said they were AC (something vets).  I said to take me off the list, and I am on the DO NOT CALL list.  He said, "But you always help us!"  I hung up.  2 years ago I got stuck with this - Navy Vets or something, and they kept sending harassing letters asking for my donation.  Last year I told them not to call me again.  Whoops!  They called again this year.

I politely told the man we were onthe do not call list and asked him to remove us from their list. He then hung up. Rude. They should be shut down.

I don't answer phone calls that say "Toll-Free" - they didn't leave a message. From what I read above, I'm glad I didn't answer.

Calls 3 or more times per day 6 days a week for donations to Navy disabled veterans. Will not take my number off his call list.

Asked for a Mary, said was none here, he said sorry and hung up before i colud say I've had this number over a year, don't call again.

Very rude people asking me to make donations so they can send care packages to Iraq.  They really don't like taking "no" for an answer.  He kept telling me he was going to "Put me down for 15 dollars" and no matter how much I said "no" he kept talking over me insisting I was going to donate.  I got so mad I just yelled over him that I'm not giving him any money and hung up.

I received calls from this number at dinner time three or four times a week it's so annoying they don't stop talking they just want donations, for the state troopers or veterans association, how can i stop this?????

Someone called and said that they were calling a claimant for Social Security disability and the caller lied and said they were calling from the office of Northwest Disability Advocates (lawyers office).
There is nobody here by the name of JAY.
Is this really the Social Security Administration trying to pry into talking to clients without the legal protection of their lawyer?
