This also happened to my daughter; they called every relative they came across in web searches (including me) and left messages stating that "summons would be served", "she must call immediately" When my daughter called to see what was going on, they demanded she she give them her debit card info over the phone to make payment and stop the action.  She stated that she owed no debt and any documents claimimg otherwise would be reviewed by her attorney. They promptly started backpedddling and said it must have been a mistake.  Luckily she was not intimidated by them when they demanded debit card information from her over the phone.  These people are despicable with their tactics & methods of harassment people. Scam, scam, scam!!!

Its been months nothing has happened? My credit report is clear, also. With current address, etc. so it wouldnt be hard to find me. Thank you for your post.

HLN news this morning, Clark Howard at cnn.com BBB has stated this a scam, calling and threatening and asking for debit card, credit card, or check. These people are NOT real debt collectors, they are ripping people off. He said they must show in writing proof you owe this debt. So be aware of this scam.  Don't take my word on this check out on their website at CNN.
And stop this kind of garbage.

This is a total scam---they use to use a real phone number when they called. I reported them to the FTC and they quit calling. Now, months later when you see the call coming in, caller ID just shows 8220 and the message asks you to call 888-416-8110 or you will be served papers on a complaint filed against you----WRONG!!! Total rip-off artists. Looks like I have to file with the FTC again!  And yes, the caller uses the name David White (he sure is busy!) ha ha

They are still calling my relatives, using a female caller. Cindy Adams aka who knows?  Leaving messages I have 24 hours or else. They are now using the term a complant has been filed against me. This has been going on over 2 years now. They give up for a while then start again. It gets tiring. But not falling victum to them. And yes they are busy.  They call like clock work. Unfortunate someone gave out a relatives phone number, unlisted, mine too. So they will have it changed.

These people are calling my home, my relatives and my husbands employer.  They call cell phones and landlines.  When I request a legitimate business name, they will not give one, they say they are calling from the county where I live- the process servers division.  A man also threatened to come to my house and make me suck his__________.  He also called my husband and said they were going to send someone to his job and "harrass" him.  They will not give me a supervisor name, number or business name.

Called twice in the last two weeks. Looking for someone named Carol Weston, never heard of this person, asked if I was married to her or a sister, NO, never heard of her. Cindy Adams stated she was trying to serve a summons on this Carol Weston. Wanted to know my SSN, forget that, this was to be sure I was NOT married to Carol Weston. What a joke.

    SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM.
