Who is calling repeatedly on my cell phone from this number?

I'm getting calls on my cell too, does anyone know the scoop on this?

I have received 2 computer generated type messages on my cell requesting that I contact them regarding Chevron/GE at 1-888-554-1388.  I would like for these voice mails to stop.  I'm not sure why they would be contacting me, since I don't have a credit card with them, etc.  And I don't want to risk calling the number.

I just received my new cell phone and new number and I have been receiving phone calls from this number.  They have been calling all day and night.  I have not even had the chance to give out my number.  This is the first day that I have had this phone.  I am not picking up the phone call or calling them back.

I have gotten a lot of calls from this number, never get to talk to anyone, its either a computer generated message telling me to call them or they have even called and told me to hold that all their operators were busy at the time, now that takes balls to call someone and tell them to hold for someone else. Do Not Call is a joke since it does not stop these type calls.

I can't begin to tell you how many times this number has showed up on my phone... If it's important leave a MESSAGE....

We have been receiving phone calls daily from 888-554-1388 for a person named "Leuella Washington".  We do not know this person and we are not the correct number for her.  Please remove our number from your automated call server as is it has become a harrassment issue.  We are receiving between 5 to 7 calls daily with no option to be able to advise this number that this number is incorrect.  The above harrassment calls have been daily since early December 2009.  
   According to a computer search this number comes up as Chevron Fleet Credit card service?

I see from other posts here that this is apparently a Chevron/Texaco debt collector? I have never had an account with either.

I was getting 7-10 calls a day from Chevron-Texaco trying to collect a debt from the person who had our number before us (we receive MANY collection calls for them...no wonder they changed their number). I finally called the number, explained to them it wasn't ours, yelled at them about harassing my family with phone calls, gave them my phone number and was told "they took our number off the calling list". It has been 3 days and I have not received any phone calls from them. Perhaps calling them worked???

Continues to call numerous times a day and never leaves a message.

I just started getting calls from them today.  They left a voicemail saying that it was Chevron/Texaco Credit Services...but then the voicemail got cut off.  I have never had a card with Chevron or Texaco.  When I call the number back, it asks me to choose an option:  Card services, pay your bill, etc.  I'm on the Do Not Call list, so I'm not sure why this number is calling.

I keep getting calls and vmm from this same number.  I wish it would STOP!

The caller is GE Credit Services robot dialers. They do Chevron Texaco and lots of other businesses' collections work. They also easily have the absolute worst reputation in the industry. Aren't you glad the government gave GE billions of your dollars?

This number looks similar to a number that had been calling me in 2008. Long story short, these scammers sent me a debt collection notice the year before (07) then called almost a year to date stating they wanted me to pay half the amount of debt (which had been PAID OFF 4 years prior) over the phone via credit card that day, then the other half two weeks later?!!...they threatened everything from my car to whatever...I went to lawyer...played the recorded messages from the 2 different guys from the landline, and showed the attorney the paper I had received, etc...he said they were trying to commit fraud and scam me...he said if they kept bothering to give them his info...I had to change my cell number and block their number from my landline...Just this week I received another "notice" from a different "collection agency", and when I googled it..sure enough, its a SCAM...read the blogs about this "agency" CBCS... beware of ANY AND ALL phone numbers with 888....do not call the number, do not send money, respond, or  contact person/people in any way...the computer is the best way to get info out about fraudulent people and acts, attempts....check your credit reports yearly!!

It hit me Today. I never have any thing with Chevron. I wish the government should get rid of this phone number.

I got the first call today.  I've dealt with calls like this in the past so I thought I'd switch gears and give them a call.  It is part of a G.E. collection service.  I told them that I don't have any accounts with them and this is a new number.  The lady apologized and said they would remove me from the list.  FYI you will be prompted to enter in your account number or social security number by a computer voice but just keep giving the "I don't have it" response and eventually they will connect you to an operator.

Apparently I have the number used by some guy in the past who wasn't paying his bills and I keep getting hit with these calls.  If they keep calling just block their number from your phone.  Worked for me.
