I am there right along with Waste of Company time.

Phone call received from 888-709-9874.  I always screen my phone calls and if I don't recognize the number, I let it go to voice mail. The person calling was Connie Cane. She left a message, saying she was with Anderson, Neiber, and Associates and to call her back at 888-709-9874, she never said what she was calling about.  I decided to Google Anderson, Neiber, and Associates and found this site...I won't be calling her back!

Have received another call from 888-709-9874. This time they left a message. Thanks to the information everyone posted here I expanded my search into the company in question. According to the Minnesota Secretary of State Online business record index I found the company listed as Anderson, Niebuhr & Associates, Inc. located at 6 Pine Tree Drive #200 Northpark Corp Ctr., Arden Hills, MN 55112. Their website is www.ana-inc.com
I called them back and confirmed this information and chose not to participate in their continued calls for surveys. Their website also shows they conduct research for government agencies FYI. They have been in business since 12/23/1975

I am on the do not call list and have been on the do not call list for years, yet this company called me. Luckily I screen all my calls so I did not pick up/ How can these companies get away with calling people that are on the do not call list?

First of all, it is a legit Market Research Company in which the Do Not Call does not apply.  Thier name is Anderson Neibuhr and Associates.  Look them up, I work in Research and get frustrated when uninformed individuals think it is a scam, unless they are selling something it is not a scam, they are paid by companies (in this case Health Care) to conduct research to better thier services or products.  A little research goes a long way.

This company is very unprofessional and shady. I WOULDN'T GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!!! A lot of people are having issues with them, they are crooked. No one at that company knows what they are doing and they lie to you. WATCH OUT PEOPLE just because it's a research firm doesn't mean you can trust them!!

The company is Anderson, Niebuhr & Associates. (this is the correct spelling).
    The website is www.ana-inc.com.

They are an independent market research firm, do a lot of surveys for health care, also for businesses and government agencies. The Do Not Call registry does not apply to survey research (or charities or political orgs).
They will take you out of the study you were included in, if you ask.
They call nationwide, so they do have late hours.
Privacy regulations are largely misunderstood -- health care agencies can use your information to conduct research. The regulations (HIPAA) cover how it is protected by the agencies and subcontractors. That doesn't mean that a hospital can't give your name to a research company. It just means that the hospital and the research company protect it from hackers.

The company is Anderson, Niebuhr & Associates, Inc., an independent market research firm in business for over 35 years.
    Our website is www.ana-inc.com.
The phone number for the Survey Center is 888-709-9874.
Our main phone number is 800-678-5577 or 651-486-8712.
I am the Administrative Assistant, and I have been with the company for over 12 years.

We are market research firm (not collections, attorneys, or telemarketers). We conduct research surveys for other companies in a variety of industries, including health care, education, business, community and government agencies, non-profits, professional associations, and more.
The surveys our respondents complete are used for, for example, improving products and services, measuring customer or member satisfaction, determining feasibility for new businesses, measuring quality of health care, monitoring patient quality of life, etc.

Because we want to give the best data to our clients, we try very hard to reach the people who are randomly selected for our surveys. This means we try calling multiple times, at different times of day, and on different days. We don't always leave messages, and we do call nationwide, so we generally have long hours, including weekends.

I understand confusion over privacy and do not call lists. The Do Not Call Registry does not apply to research, charitable organizations, or political organizations. However, if you do not wish to participate in a research study we are conducting, we will remove you from the list. We do not have a master list -- each study uses a new, different list of people; therefore, in order to remove you, we need some basic information. Usually a phone number or name is sufficient.

HIPAA, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, governs how health information is shared, stored, and transmitted. It means that organizations like hospitals and health insurance plans must protect your information from unauthorized access. It does not prohibit those organizations from using it for research, nor from giving it (securely) to research companies to conduct research on their behalf.

While some surveys may discuss sensitive information, such as your health status or ethical business practices, we never ask for Social Security Number, DL number, or ANY account number. Any occurrence of this should be immediately reported to the Survey Center Supervisor at 888-709-9874, or to the Administrative Assistant to the President and Vice President at 800-678-5577. We take this very seriously.

We take the training of our interviewers very seriously. If an interviewer was unprofessional, please do call me. Our main number is 800-678-5577.
I would also like to have more information about what you feel you were lied to about, so we may address it.
I have been with this company for over 12 years, and such a claim is upsetting.

Although Anderson Neibuhr does appear to be a legitimate research firm, I don't think it's appropriate for you to characterize those of us who are skeptical about their motives as "uninformed individuals".  This firm calls and leaves multiple messages asking us to call a person at a number, but never (and I mean never - in at least ten messages) says what they are calling about.  The only reason I finally called back was to tell them to stop calling me, and to inform them that I will NEVER grant the courtesy of response to a survey to a firm that makes contact in this manner.

In many studies, we cannot leave detailed messages about the survey topic. The reasons can vary; sometimes it is because the topic is sensitive and leaving the topic as a message (where we have no control over who hears the message) would itself be a violation.

I did not call anyone "uninformed."
Websites such as this are supposed to help keep people informed, but they can also misinform (e.g. the "collection agency" post).
It's appropriate to be skeptical and to be cautious about the information you give. Market research is sometimes illegitimately used as a cover for sneaky sales calls. Not all surveys are designed to be independent and objective. Identity theft is a common concern.
That makes our job harder, but opinion research is an important tool for businesses, governments, education, healthcare, etc., so we keep doing our best to provide independent, accurate, ethical research adhering to market research industry standards. I hope people continue to participate in legitimate surveys.

Received a vague message from this # at work, googled it and this website came up.  They told me they were doing a survey on health benefits.  I work in HR but do not participate in these surveys so asked them to remove the company name from their list.  Strange...

Call several different times and get several different answers. They don't tell the truth, they call 4x/day they are very rude. They continue to call even if you tell them you don't want to participate. They ask inappropriate questions. When you ask why they are calling they get uncomfortable and hang up on you. Harassment!!! I've never seen such an unprofessional company.

i don't care if they're legit or not.  in this day and age, unsolicited calls to cellular numbers are not cool. it costs money to use cell minutes, and i make a concerted effort to keep my telephone number private. i don't - and will never, ever - answer 800 or 888 numbers.

privacy is a very serious issue anymore. if you make your living calling people randomly, maybe you should start considering your next profession. my grandma used to answer phone surveys; i do not and i'm not alone.

When I get a voice mail at work, and they leave a name, number, company name, but don't say why they are calling, I do not respond.  That's what this company does.  They may be legit, but when you can't say WHY you're calling, I don't like the way you do business.  If your company is so legit, then why not say up front that you want to do a survey?  Afraid that most of us will say NO because we're too busy to spend 25 minutes with you?  This company just comes across as not being above board.
