After accidentally texting a landline, I have been receiving a text from 900-080-004222 telling me that if I text back with a "Y," then I can have my texts turned into messages.  This is a promotional ad from Verizon.  If you text back in all caps "STOP" it is supposed to stop.  You can also call Verizon and ask them to block all promotional ads from being texted to your cell.  It is free.  Are these companies that stupid to think that we are going to buy something from them off of these stupid text messages?  Good luck everyone.

Sent text msg to gandson from cell phone and received msg to "reply Y to send all txt msg to this # as voice messages for $0.25/msg + std msg fee. Details @ vtext.com". I went to vtext.com and that is Verizon which is our cell phone service. Googled the 900 number and it seems to be spam.

What is the scoop?

just got a text from this number, no idea what it's about

I missed a phone call coming from 302-394-9517 today, February 15th at 11:33 A.M. I hit send to see who had called me and got a voice mail telling me I had won $2,600 to go to a resort in Cancun, Mexico.  I replied with a text to tell them not to call me again.  I received a text message following that reads: From: 900-080-004222   3023949517 is a landline #.  Reply Y to send all TXT messages to this # as voice messages for $0.25 / msg. + std. msg fee. Details @vtext.com, TexttoLandline

I see on the internet after doing some research that there are numerous people getting these calls and they are fearful of taking them and want them to stop.  I am going to contact the Attorney General's Office in my state!

just spoke with VZW. It is a legit business(according to the VZW rep) that converts text msg to a voice msg when you text to a landline. it cost 00.25 per text msg plus the cost of texting based on your text msg price plan. If you have unlimited texting the cost remains at00.25 per text conversion to voice. If no one ansers the phone it probably goes to a answering service if it is available.

I receive these type of messages at least 2-3 times a week, with different telephones to reply to. What a scam and the telephone companies state, "they cannot do anything to stoop these idiots from sending the messages..."

I just got the same message and called Verizon who told me to log on to VTEXT.com and go under text block and this should help you.  I am headed to do this right now. People are pretty sick to do this to others and I still am not sure why they placed this 900 080 004222 number.  We all need to be coutious about this garbage because who knows what they use this for?  Maybe to get information from your phone?  Bill Pay or Bank info? Be careful and DO NOT RESPOND but call Verizon.
