- OklahomaI was scammed last night. After a sleepless night,, I worrying why I let my guard down and gave them my credit card number and my birthdate, I called the number to find out it was disconnected. They had given me a Customer Service Number 1-800-231-5064 so I called that # got an answer. I told them I wanted to cancel and they informed me they did not have an cancellation policy only a refund and that they would only refund if they could not give us a savings of $4000.00 to $5000.00. I told them I wanted to speak with someone they took my number and they said, someone will call me before the end of the business day. DO YOU THINK I'LL GET A CALL? I have cancelled my card and informed the BBB. The credit card company indicated the $1495.00 that Financial Protection Center charged my account will be disputed and removed. Everyone be aware you can't trust people like you used to.
- Anonymsame as everyone else, why would you continue to call people when they do not want to be contacted, I am also on the do not call list, I too would like to get ahold of one of these people, but I'd probably end up in jail - for a long time!
- Caller: don't know
- bouster34This is a scam. They randomly choose a phone number and use a machine that confuses the phone companies caller id system into displaying any number they choose which is why if you try to call them back, it will say the number has been disconetted even when you continue to get calls that display that number on caller id.
we have 2 home phone lines 1 with answering machine and other is just for alarm system and is never answered. The phone with no answering machine that never gets answered only received 2 of these calls, then never got another one.
The phone that is answered by machine still receives these calls.
my guess is if the number they call is never picked up, the number must drop from their call list after a few tries - charlienumber disconnected
- Glen EllenOkay, we've received many phone calls from this number in the past month. You answer and get an automated message stating that "today is the last day to lower the interest rate on your card if you press 1". Getting tired of receiving these calls considering that we're on the National Do Not Call List, my wife hit the "1" button a month ago and spoke to one of their agents. After stating that we were on the Do Not Call list and that we wished for them to not call us anymore, the agent said "sorry, but I recommend that you simply don't answer your phone if you don't want to receive these calls." DON'T ANSWER YOUR PHONE!?! Needless to say, my wife exploded and they hung up on her.
I got the call today. Knowing my wife's previous experience, I calmly pressed "1" and asked them which card company they represented. The guy wouldn't tell me. "All of them" he said. "Do I currently do business with your company?" I asked. "We work will all banks and credit companies, so yes you do." he replied. I then told him that we are on the Do Not Call List and I would like to speak to a supervisor. "Bye bye" he responded. "NO! Don't hang up on me... I need to speak to a supervisor!" "Gooood bye..." he says. "Can I PLEASE speak to a supervisor!?" "Byyyeeee..." he says in the most condescending voice imaginable and hangs up on me. - Anna HammondThis was my last chance to lower my credit card interest rates. Press 1 to take advantage or 2 to stop the calls. I have gotten this call probably 10 times in the past and I have pressed 2 so this time I pressed 1 and when the person (can't call her a lady) came on the phone and asked me if I was interested in lowering my interest rate I told her know that I was wondering how many more final chances was I going to get and have to press 2 asking that the calls be stopped. She said "I guess a thousand more times and hung up." Now isn't that professional. I wouldn't deal with anyone who had people working for them that handled a phone call in this manner. This is a land line on South Central Bell in Jacksonville, Fl.
- AnonymAutomated call. Pressed 1 to connect. Asked if he maintained list of numbers not to call. Said he didn't know. Said I was reporting him to gov. He said he "didn't care" and hung up.
- JoeWell it's after October 31st and they are still calling. 5 tims in an half hour and I don't have credit cards. Calls just started today. WTF
- ann perduecalled number back says it is disconnected
- OwenCalled at 11:46 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008. As above, "my last chance to get a more favorable rate." Have filed a complaint with the Federal No-Call List. Obviously a fraudulent "phishing" scam.
- Sandra Laragot call and due to being medicated heavily, i gave out info re
; a visa credit card that is over the limit plus last 4 of my ssn#, and zip code. was placed to see if I qualify to lower my ctr card interest rate. sole to a woman with name of chiquita. Fortunately, I am over credit limit so was asked for another credit card number, but instead
i asked to speak to a supervisor. I did speak to a person, with the name of Cristy, and I explained that I could not provide further information regarding my credit cards due to me being medicated. She was actually very understanding and told me they would try calling me again tomorrow.
[***], was I freaked out when I realized that I had given out such vip information to a complete stranger.- Caller: Credit Services
- AnnI have been getting these calls for several months. I called them back, as others have, to register a complaint and supposedly the number has been disconnectd. I though the "Do Not Call" registry blocked these numbers. I am going to report them to as many places that I can find so that I can get them to quit calling. Maybe if we all do that we can put them out of business!!
- Caller: Unknown
- OklahomaCalled and didn't leave a message. Tried to call back and it was disconnected. Who are these people and why are they not under Federal Investigation?
- Caller: Jacksonville, FL
- LarryS904-398-4657- "Credit Services" - This number is evidently an Identity Theft Ring. They tell you they will lower your credit rating, but need your Credit Card Number in order to do so. DON'T BE FOOLED INTO GIVING THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER.
- Caller: Credit Services
- OklahomanSame call as others. Recorded message saying today was last day to keep my interest rates from going up. Press 1 to talk to an operator or press 2 to be taken off list.
Obviously, I didn't press either, but held the phone open until they finally disconnected.
Have reported this to local Better Business Bureau. They report a Better Business Bureau in Florida has had complaints on this number, but that they have been unable to locate firm. - TerryAlso been harassed for @ least yr-I'm on no call list, they know-today when i told him that they were going to get fined-he told me i was going to get RAPED-i said "what did you say" he said "you heard me-you are going to get raped" It took me a second, but i said, well, you are going to go to prison. He said "for what" I didnt give him any more of my time. reported this to local sheriff dept & to FCC-have done the dog whistle thing, pressed "2" many times, politely asked to be taken off list, etc!!!! Now they are really pushing it.
- Caller: Credit card consolidation?
- ChickenROFL NAMBLA is North American Man Boy Love Association... That must be one nasty [***].
I called the 813-418-5811 number mentioned previously and the lady said she had no idea, but did take the time to take down my number and name. I am involved in telecommunications and made it a point to tell her that I track down these bastages and will carry forward with prosecuting them. Keep your phone log (mine downloads to my PC), document your communication with them (My cell phone records to a sound file, which I keep after telling them i am recording the conversation), request an email address from them and send them the documentation. If they call you again, you have their ass... good luck!- Caller: Credit Services
- MadAlThey've been calling in spurts, must be as John Byrd said, a loophole in the DNC registry. Started again yesterday.
- dannybGot another call from them to my (212) number. Same deal... a robot voice mumbling something about credit cards... "hit one for" an opertor. I did, but the connection this time was too flaky to hear him.
- Caller: they wouldn't say
