One caveat: if a consumer asks a company not to call, the company may not call, even if there is an established business relationship. Indeed, a company may not call a consumer - regardless of whether the consumer's number is on the registry - if the consumer has asked to be put on the company's own do not call list.

I would like to update all the frustrated recipients of Evergreen and their harrassing telemarketing tactics.  Reading through the loads of emails I found the email addresses of the Evergreen execs.  Digging deeper I also found a huge list of email addresses for Comcast execs.  I sent the following email to the Evergreen execs and cc:'d about 36 of the Comcast execs (there were many more I could have included).
To whom it may concern at Evergreen Sales;

Apparently you are unaware of the DO NOT CALL LIST.  My phone number has been on it for several years.  Unfortunately, I continue to get calls from the following number 904.562.6659, YOUR COMPANY, Evergreen Sales and Marketing Services.  

According to information which I've gotten from the internet, you supposedly are calling on behalf of Comcast, which is why I have also included some Comcast individuals in this email, because obviously, if they were aware of your harrassing practices on their behalf they would do something to stop it (or at least I'd like to think so).  

My understanding, from my research on the internet, is that even if I bothered to answer these phone calls (that I shouldn't be getting because my number is on the DO NOT CALL LIST) I would either be hung up on or would just hear dead air.

So please take my phone number off your calling list IMMEDIATELY as it shouldn't be there anyway, since it's on the DO NOT CALL LIST!

I sent this email on June 3, today, June 4 I received a call from a Comcast exec letting me know that my number would be removed immediately from the call list and that they were very sorry for any inconvenience!

they have been calling me and when i do pick-up no on is on the other end and they called twic in a roll did not pick up and they didnt leave a message

I got a call today at 7:31:03pm EST, 6/10/09 at 7:30:00pm EST, 6/09/09 7:46:22pm EST and 6/5/09 6:03 PM. Caller ID looks like 1 904 562 6659> on my phone, but without the > in the call log...I've seen a few phone numbers now with > symbols at the end displayed and not sure what it means. I am unemployed and trying to save my cell phone minutes for calling recruiters and doing phone interviews. I pick up every call even when I don't recognize the number now b/c recruiters call from every area code in addition to my search area. It is extremely disturbing every time I miss a call b/c I think I could have missed a job opportunity. Every time I've picked up a call from this number it hangs up on me, when I miss the call I don't get a voicemail.

I realized these are coming through my Google Voice number that forwards to my cell phone, this number hasn't even existed for a year yet so I haven't even thought about putting it on the do not call list which my cell is on. It's the number I hand out when required to give a phone number and it's in my resume on job sites.

I'm so glad I finally looked up this number and now its spam since I can use my online Google Voice account settings to block it

This # calls all the time, I usually miss the call. WHen I finally answered yesterday, no one was there. But again the call today. It is getting quite annoying. I live in NY...why are they calling me?

SOLUTION:

I just emailed Shelly Green at  sgreen@evergreensales.net

and she responded immediately to confirm my number would be removed within 48 hours from their call list.

this number calling is from Evergreen Sales and Marketing company a company hired by most likely a Telecom company such as your cable or ISP. They use them to try and get you to upgrade or re-establish service with them.
I recently downgraded my cable to basic and they wanted my business back and tried to make me special offer to come back like free HBO and stuff like that.

I received a call from this number and they hung up when I said "Hello".  Wondering what the heck is up?

Just received a call from 904-562-6659.They won't stop calling and we have the do not call. How can we stop this ? Please advise.

This is a telemarketer from Florida.  It sucks especially after you have registered in the DONOTCALL.gov

if this son of a b!tc# does NOT STOP CALLING US I will not only try calling both the company number and the VP's cell number, which was kindly posted by "Sludge". I am going to have a LOT of fun bothering him, and I will also take this up to the FTC if they will not stop.

Ya. I have received 5 of these calls in the last hour. BS is what it is. Where are my rights? These people need to be shut down. Who the heck is Evergreen Sales & Marketing anyway?? How did they get my number? I think I might take the advice of a previous poster and call their cell phones 5x an hour. I work in a 911 center and am trying to save lives here! I shouldn't have to turn my sound or phone off because of these jerks! Don't call my phone!!!

Received a call from this number claiming to  be "American Services" on behalf of Comcast cable.  They attempted to tell me that I was receiving cable and not paying for it.  This is not true, I'm paying an arm and a leg to Comcast, so I hung up on his second sentence, and called Comcast to make sure everything was ok.  It was.  Not sure if he would have attempted to scam me in some way or not if I had stayed on the line.. not interested in finding out.  Just block/do not answer this number.
