They called but left no message.  Isn't that illegal if they are a collection agency?

I am deaf and whoever call my number and they never leave the message on my answering machine so I cant' return call back on m TTY...  Who ever call...quit calling me if you don't want to leave the message..

they keep calling me and they called my job...wth...how harrassing? i don't even know why and what their calling for.

I will be sending these jokers a Cest & Desist letter ASAP.  Works like a law should.

As others have noted, this a a debt collection company with very rude employees.  On the rare occasion you can actually get one on the phone, it's been my experience that they won't bother to listen to what you have to say - so no point even trying to reason with these people.  My advice would be to seek out some of the excellent articles and advices others have written about cease & desist letters and other ways to fight back against unfair debt collectors.

They have a agent say is this ...your name... and then tell you they have call for during work hours. rude annoying and would cost me my job it crap I dont see why they dont get closed

Sorry i was mad. They will act like someone important is calling and put you on hold what put me on hold thats nervey and then you get this the guy sounds like he is on something. they are so rude!

Actually, you'll always owe a debt if you dont pay it.  Period.  However, there is a statute of limitations that differ from state to state, limiting how long a creditor has to pursue you for the debt.   Missouri has a limit of 10 years (not 5) on written contracts and promissory notes. -  You can get a better understanding of this by going to http://credit.about.com/od/statuteoflimitations/a/entirestatesol.htm  -   and be careful about paying on a dormant account.... that starts the clock all over again, and can actually provide the creditor with MORE time to pursue (or sue) you for the debt.

When they do get you on the phone, they use extreme bullying to try to pressure you into paying them, they're just horrendous to deal with ... one rep (despite over a year of unemployment and medical issues) wanted to know what kind of "games" I was playing and kept calling me a liar and cheat.  It was disgusting.  They now have another medical bill and call several times a day, I have my phone set now to send their call straight to voice mail.

I finally got a message today, and I could hardly understand it. My voice-mail to text said "Call Me", but there's voices in the background, and a whisper that says "call me". It was kind of freaky, but I'm definately not calling back.

It is illegal for them to call you at work.  So, the next time they call -- or if you have proof that they've called you at your work number -- keep a record of the call. An affidavit from your employer will work, too. Then, contact an attorney.  Not only will you not have to pay whatever the bill is that they called about, they will have to pay YOU money for violating the fair debt and collection laws.

This number calls all the time - it's Kansas Counselors and I have forwarded the PAID information three times and have reported them to the AG.....[***] using totally illegal tactics - REPORT THEM EVERY TIME!

They called for my wife, but let me take the call.  Then transferred me to someone else.  They indicated they were debt collectors. I confirmed our name, then they wanted our address.  I said "what address do you have?" and asked who they were collecting for.  I said I didn't owe anyone any money.  They said I needed to verify my address.  I said that I didn't even know who they were and had no intention of verifying anything until they told me why they were calling.  She hung up on me.

Does that even make sense if they had a legitimate claim?  Sounds like the posts above have these folks pegged right.

Kansas Counselors - Debt Collection. My daughter is on Medicaid, as is my Grand daughter. The State of Missouri screwed up the newborns ID card 4 times so there is one office call ($35) that they never filed correctly. I have forwarded all the information to the Physician's office as well as KS Counselors. They still continue to harass. I have call blocker (free app) and my phone doesn't even ring anymore when they call. They are on the UNIVERSAL BLACK LIST. That ought to tell you something.....sad
