Not a scam? Seems like they're not too legitimate. Even the major university of Kansas City is on to them.

I think the "pay your bills" poster needs to shut it.

These people have been calling me every day for 6 years.  I finally started blocking their numbers, I have blocked 29 so far and the list keeps growing.   They have left a wide variety of different pre-recorded messages.   The very rare times they have asked for a person by name, they have asked either for a Mr. Gonzalez or for a Middle-Eastern name that I can't quite make out.  Neither are me, and I have had this same phone number for almost 20 years.  I do not have any outstanding debts with anyone.

I have told them numerous times that they are calling an incorrect number, and they either do not believe me or do not care.    I have also invoked my rights and sent two formal cease and desist letters, both have been ignored.   I'm at my wits end.  I refuse to change a phone numebr that I have had for 2 decades just because of these scame artists.

I implore anyone who getrs a call from them, give them NO information and NO money.  They are absolutely scam artists.

I've been receiving calls from them for sometime now and never once they mention who they are. They sound so happy on the phone and leave a message that doesn't state anything else besides their name. Every time they call it's a different person.

These guys are usually collecting a medical debt.  They are not to be trusted and will not honor deals not in writing.    Do not send them money as it will still lead to a bad mark on your credit report.    They call many times during the day with precorded messages.     They will call any number they can dig up, no matter how old, and harrass anybody that answers, even though the person they want does not live there.

Very sad operation and I would advise you to not give them any info or money!

I just called this number back. They ansered KCI didn't give a name or anything. They told me they called looking for a Tasha and I didn't even give them the number that they called. They said they will remove my number from the list so we will see what happens.

thanks for the info.  to the guy who left the message PAY YOUR BILLS, yeah buddy, I do.  Currently working on paying off 3 in payments and there are many more to go.  But when it comes to paying the power or a medical bill what are you going to do.  Besides that, the ironic part of all of this is the medical bills are always conveniently submitted higher and then doctors will write 1/4 of it off at least and have already been paid.  But to you I am just some lowlife.  I guess b/c my 2 kids were in NICU when they were born, that is my fault.  Oh and by the way, just so ya know, apparently I make too much money to qualify for any type of government assistance and have never received anything although both my husband and myself work full-time and PAY into the system. Go ahead and sit on your high horse and judge others when you have no clue what their situation could be.  Just goes to show the kind of world we live in.  Oh and by the way buddy, yes, I believe in paying your debts it just takes some of us a little longer than the alloted time!!!

Got a call from 913-541-9925 someone named Brooke calling about an old debt that wasn't even mine. Folks don't be scared of these [***] when they call you ,  I had a good old time with her. She's busting my chops threatening to sue me for $200.00. My reply was simple , I said ok your going to sue me lets get the show on the road. You'll spend at least 3 times that amount retaining a lawyer not to mention court costs to file so in the long run you spent around $800.00 to collect $200.00 LOL. Let's do it , and the ho hung up on me LMAO.

As of me, if we pay our bills properly why they are going to call us, we miss to pay they call us to ask us to pay.... they are doing their job...

Here is a link to a Class Action against Kansas Counselors to force them to cease and desist their abusive pratices as they are in violation of FDCPA terms. Victims of this agency may gather signatures to report abuse in effort to generate a class action lawsuit against Kansas Counselors.

Kansas Counselors is a collection agency for old medical bills. I had a bill that was for only $70. When I called them to settle it, they could not find my info on file. They had my last name mispelled. Once they found my info I settled the debt. Although I paid the debt they fixed my last name but did not put in the debt was settled. When we were going to buy our first home my wife had to pay some debt owed to them and again they said that I still owed them $70. They also want you to pay western union so that adds on more money. I could have easily drove there to pay it but they said I couldn't pay in person. This company is based in overland park, ks. And unless you pay them they will not stop harassing you.

They have repeatedly called my number and leave message for someone I have never heard of to call so-and-so at 913-541-9925. When I call to tell them I don't know that person, they take my number off the list supposedly, but then it starts again before long! There need to be better systems--such as checking numbers people put down as their own number or a reference number or however they get our numbers in the first place!

I wish to not be bothered by this company anymore.

Yes these KCI people keep calling me. almost everyday!!! My dad answered one time and they tried to ask him for his credit card info, so my dad told them that they need to send something in the mail of whatever this supposed bill is... Its been about a month and we have not received anything in the mail, but they keep calling.. i dont answer. but they always leave messages...
