I got my first call (on my cell) from the subject phone #, today. I answered the call, but nothing (tho I was still connected). I called this number back and only got a looping 'phone babe voice' who described the method (only option) to press a # to get on a DNC list, which might happen after 72 hrs. I use the term 'phone babe voice' correctly and not derogatorily. I was a lead R&D programmer sent to oversee part of ROLM in 1986, after my corp bought them. ROLM was a very legit, legal, highly respected pioneer in early business phonemail applications for very large companies. There are very kind people, here, taking their time to report after they've actually spoken to someone at 918.442.0729. Not all incidents come from the same home security group, but all are about that subject, in some form, with a nonprofessional stumbling through the pitch. No my, input.

Be Very Careful about just Blowing these Calls Off if you use a Home Computer and Access the Internet!!! NEVER agree to anything this 918.442.0729 requests. I fully believe it be a furtherance of a new scam. Please, please read on to maybe learn some things to protect yourself.

My computer has, in the last 4 days, been hit by iterations of the Fragus Toolkit and CrimePack. The latter advertises, underground, a turnkey user-modifiable program for those denizons still living in their parents' basement, who wants to be a famous Supreme Super Hacker. I was a Supreme artifical intelligence programmer (yr 36, same emp) when I was forcibly retired after nearly dying from an accident last year. One or more of these hacking programs has gotten past my superior versions of Norton, Symantec, the "thing" MS calls a hugely effective security program. My mainstay IP company can only tell me the activity seems to be coming from my computer (my computer has been zombied for foulplay). START reviewing the detailed descriptions from whatever security program you use. If you see the above names (Fragus, CrimePack) write them down. If you see your computer as the hacker, for example, GARRYsHP, add it to your list. Same if you start seeing Actors, PHDs, outbound intrusions, DeSerialization 'activites' from these things, or use of your computer's unused ports (extra physical holes into which you can plug devices, like a stick with all your vacation pix). Also, memorize your own IP address, like 99.999.999 (you can easily find it through the OS of your computer and browser). Then, Take Action!! You don't have to be a programmer; Call your internet provider, the Security Program company(ies) you use. READ THEM Your List. I've had my usage go up 1 GIG in a single day, when it's OFF the internet (I'm wireless, have an internal modem). I have 5G/month for free; overages near need a 2nd mortgage to pay. I've Never come close to reaching 5G, even less now that I'm bedridden, brain injuried, etc.

NEVER press anything on your phone pad for someone you don't know!!! My 94-yr-old parent kept getting 2 minute, $80 chgs on her bill (in my name, I paid). All she'd done was press a # for DNC. Common old scam utilizing inmates for extra $$ from their "employer". I finally had to pay her telephone comp for services that restricted incoming/outgoing #s. Preventing 3rd party/collect calls (911 is Always allowed/free - she wore a button. 24/7/265, anyway). I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts that this "security service" wants nothing more than your permission to come on your propery to 'hide' devices that allow more wireless access to things. Like, watching thru the thin air as you type in cc#s, doing your holiday shopping. Maybe as you transmit your driver's license for something (passports). DOBs, relatives, etc as you harmlessly expand your family tree thru research on real, legit sites, like Ancestry. Identify theft is Very Big Business.

Did not answer but got a call from this number

Has called twice in two days and doesn't leave a voicemail.  I don't answer numbers I don't know! :-)

i keep getting a call, too. I picked up because I thought it was a work call, but no one ever answers. thank you all for saying all of this because now i know not to pick up!

Called on both our phones several times, I finally got sick of interruptions, hung up.

call twice over last couple days. For a moment I thought it might have been a friend from high school who had moved there or something. This crap is sooo annoying

Went to donotcall.gov, tried to file complaint, and got this message:

We are sorry, but we cannot accept your complaint. The number you entered, 918-442-0729, had not been registered for 31 days when you received the unwanted call.

WTF?

Got a missed call from this number. Looked on here and found out what it was. Called them back and it went to an automated recording and gave me the option of having my number removed. I did so. Takes up to 72 hrs but worth it.

Hope my name says it all... Heard that, laughed,  hung up.

Telemarketer.

Got a call and it was a LIVE PERSON.  Said they were Dave from Home Security.  Blew a whistle loudly into the phone and hung up.  No callback yet.

Received on my cell phone - did not recognize this number - should not have called me.

You can call the number back and press 1 to be placed on their do not call list; we'll see if this works.

Got a call from this #.  Who is everyone else's provider.  Since i switched to Metro I get all these BS texts and calls.

This was a call from ADT Home Security Group. I've since reported them on the donotcall.gov list, which, by a simple google search, hasn't done much to curtail their obviously widespread telemarketing. I don't know if this is a scam or what, but the guy started telling me my house was chosen for a promotion, and all I had to do was display one of their security signs, etc ... bla bla

This is the second call today. I've told them TWICE now, "take me off your list and do not call me again".

Make sure to report them to donotcall.gov.

If you call back, its an automated message that instructs you to press 1 if you wish to be removed from the call list. I did it and hope it works!!
