yep got a call today at my parents and this is what i figured

This is about the third time I've delt with this company....Works and Lentz.  It is ALWAYS for a medical bill with St. John's or it's affiliates.  This was for a bill I was making payments on with St. John, but St. John has a policy it has to be paid in full in 3 months, or they send it to these guys.  What really bugs me, is they call and say, in a very sweet tone, "this call is for XXXXXXX.  My name is XXXXX.  Please call me back at 918--592-2420.  They NEVER identify themselves as Works and Lentz or as an attorney's office or a debt collection agency.  I'm currently on a three month payment plan of $25 per month.  I actually paid MORE than that the past two payments.  However, the informed me at the beginning of this that because my bill was so high (over $2000 for medical) $25 a month would not cover it and in three months I'd have to renegotiate.  I was unemployed at the time, so $25 was generous.  Now they are calling me with no identification.  If they want to renegotiate, TELL ME!!  "Hello, this is XXXX from Works and Lentz.  We are calling to see if there is a change in your situation and we can renegotiate your terms on your medical debt."  HOW HARD WOULD THAT BE.  I hate dealing with them!  They are so difficult.  And it's MEDICAL.  It's not like I asked to have a a torn calf muscle and then an extremem allergic reaction to morphine!!!  It's not like I'm some deadbeat watching my new 60" TV I refuse to pay for!!!

Are you serious when you talk about blowing a building up?  That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my life.  You cannot 'get back' at someone who has been a little stern with you by blowing them up or destroying their lives.  It sounds like you need to rethink your life choices.  You must be living a very sad life.

Most of you are idiots! Pay your bills and they won't call you, magic huh? 2nd they don't OWN the debt, they did not pay it off. They collect for the hospital. Yes, they will sue you if you don't pay, it's a law office smart one. Why is your original bill 1,400 now it's 2,000? Because you were taken to court and now you have been charged attorney fees. Pay it when it's due and magically...no other fees crazy isint it? Blowing up a building? For trying to collect a debt YOU owe...smooth. Some of you should really learn oklahoma law before you start typing on one of these. Do research, credit card debt and medical debt are not under the same laws so stop comparing them.

To the rude debt collector. Why is it people forget what it's like to struggle the minute they are on the other end of the  spectrum. Don't be such  jerk. Your a debt collector that's nothing special. Try watching the men who serve your country turned into hamburger meat than come home to rude unruly unforgiving folks. Who could care less about anyone other than themselves. Blowing up the holding was a little extreme. Tho I understand your frustration I would be careful about that one lol.

Actually I don't work for them, but i do work in the field and know the laws. Most places set up a payment plan and if you miss a payment they garnish your wages. 95% of law offices in debt collection work this way it's nothing new or illegal. I'm sorry your luck has been so bad but bills are bills and life doesn't stop moving because bad things happen. But before you jump on a bandwagon of hate towards works and lentz understand the hospital turned your over to them they are doing what the hospital has asked them to do.

Did not identify himself as a debt collector or what company he was with but as Cooper Sullivan looking for me but with a last name I have not had in years and left his ofc number and extension. He sounded professional and pleasant on my answering machine.  I tried to call back and go dead air/static for about 90 seconds then it said to leave a message.  We will see what they have to say.  I haven't been delinquent on any monetary obligations in years until just recently ( a divorce, having to relocate, depleted savings moving-setting up utilities-buying furniture, etc and then to top it all off I was downsized on my job-no guaranteed hrs) all within a 3 month period. Yes, I am late on everything now.

This number keeps calling this number that isn't even my!

I got a call from this number with just a name and an extension and to call back.  When I looked up who the number belonged to it turned out to be a collection agency for a hospital.  For me it was either go to the hospital of die of Kidney failure.  I have insurance but the amount that the insurance paid still left an amount owing.  I am single and trying to make it month to month.  Yes, I am grateful that the hospital saved me but they alwo gave me gangrene and MRSA in the meantime.  Considering that I have to live with the mistakes the hospital made, that also left me with a partial disability, I would only think it fair they take responsibility in causing some of my injuries.

Please respond to this number for they can take you to court..I got served papers at my job from wertz and lentz for a hospital bill st john health system I couldnt pay.. i tried doing a pymt plan $40 week which the lady on phone was forcing me to do last year but I just couldnt do it.. then as time went on I forgot about it.. I have so many hospital bills and dr bills and other bills it just slipped my mind.. apparently my boyfriend checked mail in january and never told me I had mail he forgot.. so im going thru my old mail 2 weeks ago and find the letter stating if I dont contact them their gonna take me to court...I  go to court soon unfortunately...my bill was $300 now its over $1100 due to court cost and fees.. should I call them and see if I can work something out again or just go to court and dont call them?? What do you think will happen to me as I only am gonna have $50 to take with me?

Works n Lentz is an actual Law Firm that specialize in debt collections In Tulsa and Oklahoma.
If you have a steady job and are not one of the chronically unemployed, They will sue your ass!
So if you get sick, don't do it in Norman Oklahoma because this team "WILL NOT WORK WITH YOU"

They called my wife somehow on her number.They claimed to have been calling me but hadn't.  They are a collection agency and in this case they were calling about a hospital bill that is being paid under a payment arrangement with the hospital. Somehow they mistakenly think they were collecting. They have a reputation for mistakes like this among others. Just keep your records and file a complaint if they do.

They are attorneys and they had small collection cases.

It is still the debt collector works and lentz.  I just got a call from them and looked it up. Wasn’t even for me, but if I know they’re a collector, I never call back. You can tell people until you’re blue in the face you’re not that person and they’ll still call you.

I get that people in debt will lie to buy time, I’m just glad I have a phone that can block numbers as I learn if they’re for me or not.
