i got a call saying that they are calling from the federal government and offered me free Medical Care for being a good citizen !! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHH.

I told them that i am calling the FBI and they hung up on me :)

Oh, the fun I could have with this one.

What version of Windows are you using?  Answer: Ubuntu, Debian, or any other flavor of Linux.
Even better, let him go through his whole 'troubleshooting' routine (while not doing anything), then tell him that

a) the computer is upstairs and you don't have a cordless phone  - but you've been writing this all down!
a1) the computer is at home and you are at work  - but you've been writing this all down!
b) when he's getting confused about why things on his end aren't connecting, tell him that [insert ISP] cut you off a week ago - this will still work, right?
b1) claim you have dial-up.  Bonus points if you actually have a modem, and use the terminal program to make it dial in his ear.
c) holler each instruction 'across the room', and get it wrong each time.
d) insist that you are a brain surgeon and 'you know what you're doing' if he corrects you on /anything/.

Stop spamming my work cell phone.

I got a call from this number too. An Indian guy was trying to convince me that i won a $400 "WalMart" gift card, and to claim the money and get the card in SATURDAY mail, i need to pay $1.99, using my credit card. For a minute, i believed it and was about to swallow it. The mistake was that he said my name wrong and was not apple to re-name my phone number again. He has 90% of my contact address,which makes me wonder how..?
The most exciting part was that accidentally i was in walmart store when he called. So i took him to customer service and they confirmed "It is a scam".
Once he found himself traped e statred sware me and said bad words..
i don't care what he said but i am warning anyone to give credit information that easy, espicially when you her an "Indian" accent.

Just rec'd a call from 973-735-0021 caller ID stated Newark NJ.....man with heavy Indian accent called to tell me about a virus I have on my computer....I told him he was full of sh%$ and to go to hell and then hung up on him.......my guess is, is that they get you to go on your computer to their site and you give them 'permission' to go 'remotely' on your computer and they access your info, passwords, bank info, etc.......

Essentially, yes.  They might get you to turn on 'Remote Access' to let them access your machine to 'fix' the problem, which wouldn't need you to use your browser, but it's got the same risks as far as your personal information goes.

I have gotten it twice and didnt answer it either time.. then i looked it up and it brought me here... when you call the number back it says it is disconnected!!!

ha ha just got a call from theses fools. they left a message said if i didn't call back within 24 hours my social security benifits would be discontinued for the next six months. i am 36 i don't get social security. what a bunch of idiots

I have a call from them I answer it and they ask for the person in charge of my electricity bill, the  accent is like from india... they speak very funny jejejeje

keep getting a call from this number.. claiming to lower my electric bill asking for info regarding my bill.... i told him i was busy and cannot take the call... he called like 20 times on friday and then started back again on monday..... very annoying and does not give up... i stopped answering but then i get the same person back on line with calls of  of different caller ids from bayonne, nj jersey city nj.

Every afternoon I get a call from this number.  When I answer a recorded message says "please hold"... and a few seconds later it hangs up.

I got a call and a lady with Indian accent asked whether she could speak with Tom Jones... I answered "No" and she is surprised to hear that.. and asked why???? then hung up... lolz

this caller is from somalia we must stop them from hassling us thet told me they will kill my family and we owe  them money we    do not know who  they are  so if they   come  to my door i will take care of them

They start calingl both my home phone and cell phone at around 7AM!!!  It's not legal to my knowledge to call before 8am and it continues until 10pm which again is not legal....

Received phone call from this number last night (September 23); caller spoke broken English.  Told me he had logged in to my computer and found it full of worms and viruses.  Told me if I would buy their maintenance packet, they would then fix my computer for 'free'.  He said he was going to transfer me to their technician to 'obtain my information', at which time I hung up.  He called back three or four times; I let the machine pick up the call.  He told  me it was urgent that I respond.

The person calling kept saying "you got a time share, right" as I asked questions like "what company are you calling from?" His response was CK Travel Surveyors, which does not exist.  When I asked if I would find the company online, he hung up.

Yep, got this 973 735 0021 on my home phone last night...we've had call similar to this many times in the past 2 years. When you call back the phone number is disconnected. Funny how somebody can call and 10 minutes later the phone number they called from is disconnected.

I believe it is somebody who is smart enough to know how to use disconnected numbers (phone lines etc.) to skirt them bein tracked. I would like the Feds to get a grip on this sort of behavior and protect the innocent in America.

Many elderly people are being scammed, and people like my husband who always believe the best in people get hurt. So, far I've been preaching to him and I hope he has been listening. Don't fall for everything people say, don't give out personal info, if it truly is a bill collector etc. You should be able to double check with the Better Business Bureau first and they should be able to send something in wirting so you can double check it out somewhere.

This seemed to start whe my husband gave his number to somebody who, shall we say, turned out to be less than steller in the community...They probably sold the number to an undersirable. Who the heck knows...but it does get one P.O.'d.

Well, I have been rec. calls daily, several timesa day.  Each time it is some foreign sounding jerk.  They start out telling you have won a large amount of money.  They want you to pay a delivery fee and or ins. fee. or a portion of the winnings to them.  You are suppose to go to a Western Union office and get a receipt with a tracking number, for the amount of money he tells you.  Could be 50 dollars or up to over 3,000 dollars.  I tell them I do not have any money.  They want you to borrow from family or friends...steal if nec.  Then they cuss you out.  Tell you F... YOU, you [***].  Don't F... with me!  Kiss my A..  I just hang up.  But I am very tired of it.  I wish I could yank him through that phone and I would show that sorry person just how much I hate him.I get calls  from # s  876-414-1914,  876-305-1926,  876-405-0460 and 876-565-7677   Even Tho the ID # is Viteous Corp 973-735-0021 or several other #s that when you call back are not good 3s.    I hope that the FDC will do something about this.

This time, the caller ID actually referenced Viteos Corp., which appears to be a consulting firm in New Jersey.  Still didn't answer.

Received the call this morning from Viteous Corp in NJ - Indian guy claimed to be from Windows Service Center and said my computer was infected with malware and viruses. Led him on for a while, asked where he was calling from and he said Texas. Guess he doesn't know the caller ID shows the area code. Gonna try to contact the Viteous people and the Texas Attorney General - who frowns on phishing scams.
