Got this call this morning from a man with an Indian accent. Said he is from Windows California. Same scam to access my computer threatening to shut it down if I don't do what they say to stop hackers from using this computer.

I just got this call, too--same number and same claim that my PC is compromised. When I tried to get them to talk to my husband, a software development lead working for Microsoft in California, they hung up! Unfortunately, my husband said MS can do nothing about it.

1-975-964-2811, originating from Kansas City, MO, claiming to be Microsoft Service of some kind, that my PC with Windows Office newly installed is under security threat. Had they not hung up on me, when I tried to get them to talk to my husband, who works for Microsoft as a software development lead, I'm sure they would have tried to get me to give them control of my computer and hacked my various stored IDs and/or charged me some outrageous sum to "protect" myself from such predation.

Just received not one but two calls this morning from this number...  1-975-964-2811

First call, auto-voice on other end said 'goodbye' and hung up after I said hello.

Second call the man with an accent from India? said he was from Microsoft and that my computer was sending out warnings, error messages, and that it was in danger of attacks and was infected.  Wanted to know who, if I was the person in charge of the computer and if so would I follow his directions to 'fix' my computer.  When I told him I would need his phone number to call him back once I spoke with my Tech Dept., he hung up...  go figure!

This phone number calls my home that I share with my 90 year old great aunt. They call three and four times a day. When I ask them to please stop and take my number off their list they laugh and hang up. The worst was tonight when they called after 11pm. My aunt is 90 as I stated earlier and the phone ringing that late startles her and wakes her up and she has dementia and the phone ringing that time of night really confuses her and then she had a hard time going back to sleep. This is totally uncalled for!

They called twice -- 9:47 PM and 9:19 PM  -- didn't answer the first call -- second call I picked up but did not speak and it terminated after about a minute.

didn't answer, this is the number which callback told me had rung. Surprising since it would appear to be a US number and I am in the UK

called with the similar accented man from windows wanting me to get on my computer to fix a problem. I accused him of trying to scam me and told him to never call again. Then a long silence and he sighed loudly and hung up. Since the call this morning he has called back twice. First callback he hung up when I answered, second one I didn't answer.

This is harassment!

I have read earlier entries & have rec'd automated calls w/ a computer generated voice that says 'good-bye' upon my answering - also have rec'd unsolicited calls from a man w/ an accent suggesting India informing me that my computer is sending error messages.

I googled keywords & a search returned what amounted to a script that was documented by another victim.

Any ideas on how to get these unwelcome calls to stop?!

Called saying he was from Microsoft and that my computer was sending signals that it was infected and would shut down soon.  I told him I did not have a computer.  He asked "Are you sure??  There's no computer there?? And how old are you, maam?"  I said "I don't believe that's any of your business and hung up.

Call saying they work for Microsoft and want me to check my pC

This call came in at 8:59this morning when I answered they hug up  I suspect it is a Microsoft scam or ..the hello seniors..scam

A women called with an Asian accent. She said she was from the tech dept of Windows. Wanted to check on my computer. I then hung up.

called me twice today within 2 hours.  First woman called and I told her to stop calling, she hung out.  The second guy cussed at me and hung up.  this is such B.S calling ID is 975-964-2811

Called @10:30 PM

Have received two calls from this number. Silence!  Last call was at 10:35 pm waking us up!  When the number is dialed, it says the number has been changed, disconnected or no longer in service.  Someone is up to no good!  Same caller id as above!

Call type is most definitely "SCAM" but no such option, so I chose 'unknown'. They call from India - on a regular basis. Sometimes calls don't go through after you pick up, so after prolonged silence robo-voice says 'Good bye'. Other times, in real bad India accent, they claim to call 'regarding your Windows computer'.

I grew to find these calls amusing after a while. It used to irritate me greatly, after being cursed at, threatened - literally - to have me called - I now simply express delight to a caller's voice. Tell him to please not hang up, because I Am thrilled to talk to him.

They do not understand humor, whatsoever. BTW, called me 'madam' - I didn't want to correct him that in this country, good old USA, we say 'mam'.

I pretended to fall into whatever BS he was into. Something about how Windows server detected corrupt files on my 'computer' (never asked or provided any details!), and he would help me. Asked me to log in. I kept saying sure thing!, even though my comp was off. Asked me to tell him what did I see on the left Windows button. I started laughing hysterically and asked if he was serious, but eventually had to hang up - hard to talk to someone without any sense of humor and pretend to go along with stupid crap. LOL

This stupid number has been calling for weeks and just got a call again now at 10pm. Really frustrating waking my kids up.

I have reported it, and they still call. I am one of hundreds of thousands of people who report and all you get is a computer generated letter saying they appreciate my complaint and that they are "investigating" it.
They have called my work even. saying I owe 549 dollars to a cash advance. Never have and Never will. I was told by my local Sheriffs office that they buy American prepaid phones and call begging for money. The one guy who called said I had a case pending in boston. I said what county so that I can inquire about the case number he gave, me and he swore at me, and didn't know what a county was in the US! lol Then called me a prostitute and hung up! :)
