Agree with againandagain above - the ICO will prioritise those numbers with a large voume of complaints. This thread started 14 days ago and is already on page 17. If everyone who has posted also filled in the very brief ICO form we might get somewhere.

calls but no messges

I, like everyone else have been plagued by these callers. I have used TPS also, who are as useful as a  chocolate fireguard. So I bought myself a phone with an answering facility, the callers number is shown on the screen, which you ignore if you do'nt recognise it.,and they never answer the machine money well spent.

Another time wasting call about writing off outstanding debts.
I would like to "write off" the originators of these calls in the most painful and unpleasant way conceivable.

This has called me five times today on a number I have never given out to any business, apart from the phone service provider - Orange.

Recorded message saying I had opted in for debt relief (I didn't) and that I could write off 70% of my debt if over £10000. I selected 5 to speak to someone and tell them what I thought of them.
When I asked for the name of the company I was told "Debt Response Team".
Get these cranks off the planet and stop wasting my time. I feel sorry for the old people and people who may really be hard-up which these leeches are looking to frighten for their gain.

Informs you that you can get up to 70% of outstanding debt written off. Not so good as statute of limitations then re the 6 years total write off? GOT SCAM WRITTEN ALL OVER IT!

This number continues to harrass my mother about 'a debt'. I cannot trace any company name under this number. My mother has no debts and is deeply distressed by these calls. I suspect the calls to be an attempt to defraud. Why does the government not legislate and take action against these shysters?

Never press 5 they can access phone details. They call us constantly but don't leave a message.

I'm on TPS but they have no juristiction over automated calls - if I'd was my wits about me I would have put them on hold and played music at them.

01542842715 - has just called me with an automated message.
I will report it to TP, but never call these people back or press the number they suggest, as you can end up with large bills from premium rate numbers.

apparently unkown to me i have had an accident. Would love to know where they get their information from plus i am on the TPS they are a claim company for injuries

Got a call today from this number -never answered it.

Why do TPS make reporting such calls an ordeal? It's almost as if THEY try to put you off as they can't be bothered with the hassle!

All they have to do is look at this site. All that's really needed is to send the nuisance phone numbers then they could instantly identify the hundreds of thousands of rogue callers!!

Me too around 11am - recorded message re personal injury claim with a recorded message from the department for Compensation. Usual press 5/9.

I've just reported this number to the ICO

Received call at 10:46 on 25/3/13. Recorded message about writing off debt.

I received a call at 13:04 from these and have received calls from them daily for the last week or so, called my mobile company and they cannot block the number but suggested I go on TPS (now done) surely someone who calls you every day uninvited is harassment............

Received recorded message from this number this morning.  He claimed to be from the Department of Compensation, and that I am entitled to claim for personal injury!  Oh yeh?  I hung up.   But I'm sick of all these calls, I get half a dozen a day.... Mis-sold PPI, loans, energy companies, customer surveys etc, as well as international, withheld or unavailable calls.  I shall now report every single one to TPS, Ofcom or the gov site.
At least I will feel slightless less helpless!
