- peterofcowfeedingWHO IS 000000000?
- downdoggie| 1 replyI get these numbers too, and boy they are a pain. So then I purchased a panasonic telephone with the option of call block. Didn't know exactly when I bought because I thought I had too purchase call block (but I didn't) and it is the handiest purchase I have ever made. So now when I get these strange numbers, I look them up and or google them and if they are scammers I add them to my blocked list directly in my telephone.. Its a wonderful thing especially since half of these callers call at 8am. Now the phone recognizes them as a number I chose to block and hangs up. I don't even get a ring. I love it. So that is for sure one way of stopping them.

- NeteagleThe caller said his name was Martin representing the HOME INSTALLATION GRANT RESEARCH CENTRE. The caller said that this organisation was employed by the UK Government to get grants to people to insulate their homes.
I insisted on knowing a trading address and telephone number before going any further. At this stage the caller decided he did not want to talk to me any more.- Caller: HOME INSTALLATION GRANT RESEARCH CENTRE

- Bones McCoy replies to dc| 1 replyHey there... heres an answer for you... Someone at your home who does either shopping online through Ebay or Amazon or some other site could be sharing your number with other parties because sometimes what happens is a computer hacker will go to a site like EBay or Amazon and get into their system, pull down names and phone numbers and then ZAP!!! just like thaty your name and number is sucked into another data base to be used for advertising products such as Cars, Trucks, Trips or Vacations... so you always have to make sure that when you surf online you best put up the firewalls and only go to secure web sites...
Kind Regards
Dr Bones McCoy - Bones McCoy replies to Bones McCoyOh yeah one other thing too... when you surf PORN..... yeah your asking for trouble... sometimes viral bugs reside in jpeg's and other photographs... those can hijack your browser and even grab any information you might have added to your browser such as that instant information for applications that you fill in online... those bugs are programed to collect that info and return it to a hidden data base which you are absolutely unaware of... and when your Browser starts to act really choppy and sluggish its a good chance your browser has been hijacked so you had best disconnect from the internet and do a deep scan of your PC... and then right click on your My Computer Icon on your desktop and then hit properties and then click on the System Restore tab and check the little check box that states "Turn off System Restore on all Drives." then reboot, once you do that and your back to your desktop, right click on your My Computer Icon again and then hit properties again, go to the System Restore Tab click on it and then take that little check mark out of that box, that will re-enable your system restore files... then reboot and you should be good.... doing this process causes you to do one thing and that is to delete your System Restore files... thats why it is always important to back up your system hard drive to an external hard drive... System restore is nice but its not always sufficiant because some trojan viruses will make there home in your system restore folders because who ever made that virus knew that your Anti Virus Program cannot open those folders to scan whats inside them, so the only other option is to delete those system restore folders.... you cant just right click on them and delete them... you have to go through that process that I just walked you through... by adding a check mark in that box in your System Restore tab will make it so that your System restore folders will delete not just whats inside the folder but the entire folder.. and taking out that check mark will allow your PC to Re-Enable your System Restore folders back to Original State, clean and you start all over again with no restore point... you will have to create a system restore point after all that work has been done. To Create a System Restore Point all you need to do is Google "How to create a System Restore Point" make sure you find the one thats according to your Operating System.
Kindest Regards
Dr.Bones McCoy - Ski MartinIts is some telephone call center that states that they are the National Research Center and can hardly understand what it is they are saying let alone what I am asking. Plenty of the phrase OK though. A one minute survey I was told. When I asked her where the center was based she said ok again and I put the phone down. Checking the number it was 000000000 etc.

- L Hughestwo phone calls & then hang up
- P. PantherObviously an internet phone (like Skype). If you use Skype, or another type, call your phone sometime and you will see you get a number that typically starts with 000.
Not much you can do about it because even if you have your cell phone company block it (like AT&T's managed calls ... which is an extra service and cost) it will not block the call because it is only 9 numbers instead of 10.
A tip, BTW, for other unwanted numbers that call you (actual 10 numbers). Check out youmail.com. It is free and I started using it several months ago. It has helped cut down unwanted calls to only a few... and no, I don't work for youmail, just like their service.- Caller: likely an internet phone
- NJVeryyyyyyyyyyyyy annoying...These people have to be stopped...grrrrrr
