Hi had this number call me at 10.51, I'm in UK.  Added to my contacts under shisters

It is from USA Microsoft either about your account being hacked or suspicious activity. They are being precautionary.

As has been stated numerous times, (if anyone actually had the decency to *read* this message thread!) the calls actually originate from India using a 'Spoofed' number.

Jeez! How difficult is it to fit a call blocker and use it to block incoming overseas calls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Microsoft does NOT cold call people as far as I am aware.

Two friends who do not own computers have had calls (apparently from India those were) saying their computer was faulty!

Even if it was Microsoft, and legit, they have no business ringing you to try and sell you their protective programmes, or whatever they were.  Especially if you are TPS registered.

Had a call from this number the other day, .  I was out, no message left, so looked it up here.  Another scam it seems.

Hello. Got a call from this number today. An Indian guy talking about Windows on a computer, not on a house.

Knew it wasn't right so straight away so I grilled him. He said the company is based in Canada. Got all aggressive when I asked to speak to his manager. Any legit call centre would let you do that.

Keep getting phone calls like this and we are on a no call register. Not a happy bunny

3 calls so far today, two from 0845 numbers then one from this US one.

The truth is that the so called watchdog is all but powerless and the telephone companies make a lot of money from these people, call charges and equipment, so BT and the rest all whistle and look the other way when anyone talks of seriously stamping down on this nuisance.

No different from Royal Mail and all the junk mail we get, they get paid to deliver it so aren't going to make too much effort to reduce the flow.

0012102490540 keeps calling, my iphone says the call is from Texas, USA.  I never answer because I'm always worried the call charge might be reversed somehow!!
I don't know anyone who has ever been to Texas so I'm not really interested in receiving any calls from there (no offence intended to the people of Texas!).

Call from this number claiming to be from Microsoft. Caller called Ryan. Wanted me to log into my computer

Phone rang again while my wife, a nurse who works nights was in bed. Phone went dead when answered!

We had this on a mobile, claimed ( identified by mobile service) as from Texas, but silent.

i had a call from this number and it was about ppi claims, I can honestly say I wish I had never ever registered with the telephone preference service, before I had registered with them, I barely had one call a week or so, now I get three or four a day, I think personally, the telephone preference service could possibly be selling numbers to these people,i may be wrong,but because of government cuts, they may need to do this to fund their own salaries, and it needs investigating.
but seriously, before I registered with them, I only got calls from people I knew!

This number called me tonight in Scotland and said nothing then hung up!!!!

Just had this number call me and as other posters have said it shows as Tx USA number. I always reject calls I don't know to answerphone but they didn't leave a message ;)

They called me in the UK on the evening of the 7th Feb.
Phone was on charge in a different room so I missed the call. They didn't leave a message.
Showed up as being from Texas.
The call was to my work phone so surprised anyone would have this number that wasn't work related. I've never previously had "spam" calls on it.

I had same call on mobile today showing San Antonio texas I obviously didn't answer but my colleague had same last week!! I think they route calls thru Texas but thats not where they are phoning from!

Called me in the UK. Call showed up as being from Texas. I didn't answer, it only rang for a short time. They probably want you to call them back. Probably a scam.
