- Henri| 1 replyBloody hell, I ask them where did you get my number (a brand new number, in a new house, with BT giving me a new number instead of the ISP one) - hung up. Called by accident help line - had no accident.
TPS DIDN'T BLOCK THIS AND IT'S FROM 2008! Good thing new phones come with a bar caller option or else this idiot would call everyday- Caller: SCAMMER
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Peter replies to HenriGot a call from this number today for the first time but didn't answer.
As I understand it the TPS is a voluntary scheme and, judging by the accents, these calls originate from abroad anyway.
I've also had calls like this from other numbers beginning with 00049, 00163, and 00154. - occupierThis number been ringing my mobile everyday for several weeks.
strange reading posts be for this looks like it's not been used since 2008 and the calls were to Spain.
I'm uk its now 2014
so beware this number is a SCAM and certainly back in use of calling ppl. 😕 - AndyThis number just called me, second time this week, saying they were from Windows and for security reasons, they were going to block me within the next two hours. When I tried to tell him he wasn't as I only have a Mac, he talked over me so I hung up. He then called me back and before he could say anything I said " which bit of NO didn't you understand ?" Upon which he then hung up !!
- I JacksonCalled 28/11/14. Unknown number so didn't answer... Will block it now...
- fed up with calls| 2 repliesno matter what I do, I get phished!
- Gary replies to fed up with callsThere is one thing you can do to stop being "phished". Put the 'phone down without answering their questions.
- Danielle DunbarThis number called me my phone displaying it origionates in Texas USA. I have heard recently that a number of scam calls are coming from this number and if you answer it there is a reverse charge against your bill at astronomical rates.
- Caller: YA.COM
- AlbyThis number called me and an Indian gentleman in a noisey call centre said he was calling from microsoft and that my computor had not accepted the last 3 updates(a lie). If I was at my computor he could fix it for me now(another lie).
If I was silly enough to allow him external access to my computor he would actually corrupt it and then try to get my credit card details to charge me a large fee to remove the corruption. If you realise it's a scam and there was no computor fault, and try to stop payment the money has already gone and was taken as soon as they had your card details while you were still on the phone.
As I did not have time to let him go through the false computor repair routine before refusing computor access or card details, I asked why he was telling big lies and trying to cheat honest people, when I knew that Microsoft NEVER ever calls people. He denied this saying that my problem was important. I told him his god would punish him severely for his crimes and he then cut me off.
This is a long running scam. BEWARE- Caller: False computor fault scam
- Call type: Telemarketer
- simonI'm in the UK. They called this morning asking whether I was a BT customer. I suspect they are phishing. Don't tell them anything.
- Dab Badboy replies to fed up with callsHow thick do you have to be not to simply install a call blocker and set it to block all incoming International call for goodness sake !!!
- Lucy MayThe number came up on my mobile phone and it was from Taxes, USA. It was a recorded message with an English accent, she was talking about claiming PPI. After reading the above messages, this phone number is being used by all sorts of different scammers; claiming to be from many different legitimate companies like BT or Microsoft but this number is certainly not offering anything legitimate.
- Caller: No name
- thewizReceived a call on my mobile this morning. My display showed up with the call being from San Antonio. From all accounts, this number belongs to the Spanish section of Orange, here is their web address:- http://www.orange.es/?yacom. Maybe you could try complaining to Orange in the UK. In reply to Gary, 04-12-14, "There is one thing you can do to stop being "phished". Put the 'phone down without answering their questions." My friend, they've got you as soon as you pick up your phone. Get yourself sorted with caller display, and don't answer strange numbers, then block their number, they will soon get the message, if you are out, then turn on your answerphone before leaving the house, that will also help put a stop to these calls. It's only the odd few numbers that I get these days, and they are few and far between.

- Simon MReceived a call from this company called FirstCall Payment Protection stating that I was due monies back from a car payment plan (which I had and they named). I became suspicious when they informed me that in order to receive a home call/visit from their agent with the relevant paperwork and to allow them to claim their percentage (15%) back off the Gov. I had to go to a Post Office or shop dealing with U cash or UK Cash vouchers and buy a voucher for £85. Once this was confirmed over the phone _ an agent would come around to the house with the legal paperwork and hand me a cheque for over £2K !! I have never, and will never work with a company asking for cash up front - even though they gave me another number to contact them with two very English names - 02032872213 - to which I casnnot get through to!! Unless someone can advise that this is ligitimate - I would suggest avoid at all costs!
- Caller: Firstcall Payment Protection

From England x - Furios| 4 repliesGot a call from this number at 7am this morning. Said they were United States security and that my computer was showing as having security issues on it. The usual scam where they take you to events manager on your PC and that auto shows red crosses and then ask for money to clear the security issues. I said this is a scam, do not ring this again and she protested so I told her to "f... off" and put phone down and they had the audacity to call back which we then didn't answer. This is a scam number do not answer!
