This number called but was hung up by the time I reached the phone.

When your phone rings just let it ring off, then press 1471 and check who has rang, if it is a number you know and trust then you can ring them straight back. if it is these pests and others you can just ignore them(as I do) and they will get sick of ringing and wasting their time. Remember YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR PHONE and not these pests.

Answered the call - silence. I hung up.

Got a call today from this number: 0012102490540 at 11:25. Recorded message spoke of a Kitchen Scrappage Scheme.

Sounds a bit fishy to me.

Received a call from this number @ 11.12 hrs. I was out at the time but no message was left on the answerphone. Judging by all the comments on various websites re: this number, I guess one can safely assume it is yet another nuisance call. Over the last few weeks they seem to be coming thick and fast, from various sources, some callers being extremely persistent. Some of the problem can be alleviated by having a telephone with a caller display along with a number blocker but it really is time the authorities looked into these cold calls.

Indian sub-continent voice: "Microsoft" scam. I started speaking in Greek (I'm Scottish but know a decent amount of Greek) - they gave up.

This number called my mobile today ...the phone indicated the call is from "San Antonio" I do not know anyone there and refused to answer in case the call reverses charges or gets my personal information.

I got this call today on a UK three mobile, it said it originated from Texas US. Did not answer as I don't to anything unknown. They did not leave any message and I serached the number and came up with this thread. Yet another nuisance number!!!

Also received this today --- thought for a minute it was from a friend in Texas and almost texted back then fortunately noticed although the area code was the same, the rest of it was different, so checked on the internet and got here.

So glad I missed the call because I think I would have picked it up - thinking she might have just changed her mobile or similar.

Definitely someone leaked my details from Sky - I am almost certain that is where the leak came from.  And two or three days ago I had another suspicious call from someone claiming to be from Sky and asking me to give all my details over the phone so he could "verify" me before giving me some special offer and when I refused, got very aggressively argumentative about it.  

These people are a pest but the ones I actually think are to blame are the Sky or Vodafone companies who cold call customers genuinely and that is what fools people into thinking the fake ones are genuine.  None of those companies should be allowed to cold call with "offers" --- then everyone would know that anyone doing that was a scammer.  Cold Calling should be made illegal and as for my bank (which does the same - and then asks me to give details to verify myself) what a joke!!!!  No way.  It shouldn't be allowed.

And (sorry long post) but don't be convinced if anyone offers you the chance to "call back" - I have read that that is another scam and somehow they work it so when you think you are coming through to a Vodafone or Sky or Whatever Bank reception it is in fact still them on the line - pretending.  Be aware!!

This number called my mobile today but I didn't answer as it said TX, USA......

I also had a call from this number, stating it was from TX, USA.  I didn't answer it either!  Would be good to know who it is and why they are calling!

Had a call from this company in February and again today.  Hung up and have now barred the number.  Seems they originated their calls in Spain and are now spreading around Europe, so no doubt a scam.

And me ... in Uk on an Orange phone. Yesterday at 19.14. I didn't pick up. I've no connection at all with Sky, and cannot think where they got my number from, unless it is a random dialling.
