So since yesterday I have been receiving phone calls throughout the entire day from a 00 1 (234) 567-89
Salem, OH. The Salem part came up underneath. Obviously I have not answered these scammers because I am no fool but I don't understand where they have my number from. I never put my number on anything or give it out.  Anyhow, does anyone know how to stop this calling?

I had a call from these, firstly I received a text from a mobile telling me I had money waiting for me from an accident, "txt confirm and a time to call". I thought I'd play along and waste their time so I txt confirm and shortly after I got a call from 00 1 (234) 567-89
Salem, OH, an Asian fellow then asked me if I'd had any kind of accident (in a car, falling over, at work anything) I said yes I had one at work, he quizzed me about it and after 10 mins he didn't think a cut finger that I'd put a plaster on was enough so preceeded to ask about loans and credit cards. I had time to spare and kept them on for 40 mins. He then put me on hold for a minute and passed me on to his collegue Luke who explained he was from a company called uk compensation. He thought he had a lead for ppi but I said no I'm trying to claim for a cut finger, dissappointed he told me they couldn't do anything. He thought I'd hung up and I heard him shout " Dennis Dennis what's going on here you said you had a ppi for me, I don't get it, he was going on about a cut finger". They then tried to phone back twice but I'd had my fun. Ambulance chasers I think the term is.

total scam beware of this. How on earth can these so called dodgy companys get away with this. This country has far to meny forgniers eating away at our econimy and goverment allow it.

where do these people get my number from? surely its illegal for companies to distribute phone numbers to each other without consent?? i get about 15-20 calls a day from these [***]! how do i make them stop??? anybody know???

Salem oh on the phone again today, begging me to go ahead with a ppi claim, "everything is done at our end sir you just have to sign" i had to reiterate several times that I couldn't be bothered, "but why? Why sir we done everything an can give you money back" nah mate don't need the cash I explained to which he replied "thanks for wasting my time you son of [***]" my pleasure do call again.

Keep getting phone calls from this number, started as coming though as Unknown. Nobody has actually spoken to me yet as it gets cut off every time - still annoying as hell though!!

I have received several calls from this number in the last few days but have never answered. I know it's a scam call but I would really like to know where the hell they got my telephone numbert! I am with Orange....but ofcourse they can't do anything about it.....unless I change my number. I am also getting several calls a day from this number 0025219532.....whats that all about????

I've just had a phone call from this number saying all computers in my area are infected with a virus. He didn't get any further than that as I told him to bog off and stop harrassing me - it's the 3rd one this week!

Just received a call from 00123456789, answered it, said hello a few times, no answer, long pause, then heard goodbye and line went dead.

I routinely screen my incoming landline calls - my reasoning is that, if it's urgent enough, the caller will leave a message. Well, when I 1471-ed the call I received at about 10:50 this morning, I was informed that it came from the ludicrous number 00123456789. I thought, "that couldn't be fishier if it had a Bird's Eye label on it" and, sure enough, when I Googled the number, I find this collection of scam alerts. Lovely old world, isn't it?

A male called foreign accent told me lots of viruses in hampshire !! wanted me to turn on my computer to check it, I refused ,called back a few times ,said he was ringing from middlesex ,Technic Budha !!!! why wouldn,t I believe him ,said I,d check it myself and not to call again ,not sure what he was after .

frequent calls. my advice let answer machine cut in and it rings off- anyone wanting you other than call centres will leave message

[In eastern Europe accent]: Hello mam, my name is Kevin... I want to help you with unnecessary files on your computer,[...] are you sat in front of your computer mam?"

Me: [silent]

Kevin: Mam are you there... would you like me to hold?

Me: please hold. [places on loudspeaker with young child making noises]

(3 mins into call)
Kevin: Mam, hello, mam, are you in front of your computer?

Me: just a minute

[6 mins into call]
Kevin: Hello ... Hello .Hello ... mam is your computer switched on? Mam are you there?

[8 mins into call]
Kevin: hello mam are you there... [hangs up]

Eight and a half minutes he was on the line for... not beaten my record, but average...

but then... [this is hilarious... ]

Kevin: Hello mam, I was just speaking to you about your computer, is your computer switched on?

Me: Hold on, I'll just get it... [pmsl]

A further 3 minutes before he hung up again!!!  

Thats 11 and a half minutes on the phone making an international business call... lmfao... still not got the record though Kevin... I think 19 minutes was my personal best!!

Never hold them on the line. Don't say a thing, and hang up right a way! I'm from Europe, and sometimes these numbers, and that story, get on the news. The problem with it is, when you keep talking to them, the bill starts to run. But they collect on it, it's a major scam.
Today, i've got a call from 001 701 000 1111, but as soon as i pick up the phone, the line is cut. I don't even here them/it hang up. It's like a computer that's calling me. It's been going on for a few days now, but even my provider can't help me with it. They just said it's coming from the US. But i live in Belgium...
Just strange, since i never give my phone number, because it's a private number. Can't even call it back, i'm just going to block it...

They said something about an e message so quick and softly spoken.

Keeps calling 2 a day everyday no answer when you try and answer it
