Can anyone rid us of this number?

Received call from number 00123456789 at 10.05pm.  The caller was female and asked to speak to me, she had my first and middle name but not my surname.  As I live in spain I answered the phone is spanish but told her she couldnt speak to the person she asked for because she didnt speak spanish only chinese.  That got rid of her.  The caller said she was calling from the Telefonica (spanish company)which is actually now called Movistar to offer a special deal.  I have since phoned Movistar to advise them of this problem but they were more interested in selling me their internet package than taking note that someone is phoning using their name under false pretences Neither the con artist or the Movistar assistant were Spanish, only spanish speaking. Will I get sued if I blow an extremely loud whistle down the phone?

What the hell are some of you people on. Giving a complete stranger who phones you your credit card details.
You must be the biggest muppets in the world and also the reason that scam companies like this continue to bother sensible people like me.
You do realise they now have your credit card or Paypal(which is linked to your card or bank account) details on record, so in the future when they take a new amount of cash without your permission from your card/Paypal and send you nothing in return your not gonna bother the good people at VISA/Paypal because you were to stupid in the first place.
The best advise is if you have caller display, don't answer it if it's a commercial number, if they are genuine and want to contact you they will send you a letter.
There are some scam companies out there that once you answer the phone your bill starts to get charged for the call. A friend of mine lost £50 in 4 minutes that way, £50 for a call he answered.

Received a call in The Netherlands today.  Ended call myself, didn't speak to them.

I have been receiving calls from 00123456789 for the last whole week on a daily basis. the calls comes around 1pm UK time. each time when the phone rings around this time I would look on the caller display and will see the number on then I don't answer it. Don't think I would take the chance to answer and be subjected to a barrage of insults like some of you received. I just don't think I am strong enough to fight with them what ever they are. This is depressing me terribly. good to know I am not alone here. I have a whole lists of callers and they are all scammers or some sorts as they are never genuine callers. otherwise I would know, as usual if a genuine caller, they will leave you a message and or will call back.
I look forward to the day someone here will have an answer how we can get rid of these nasty callers.

Pesks are calling me too and hanging up. Clearly some of them have posted on this thread to try to seem like an honest company. if you're that honest, you wouldn't hang up when people question you. Get a life and go away, losers. Perhaps get a job where you don't have to inflict your hideous selves on humanity via the phonelines.

Also I wonder what phone company everyone else is with? I've just changed to primus saver and have never had nuisance calls before this.

Keep receiving phone calls from this number in the evening. Nobody on the end of the phone but an automated message saying would Mr Walker please call SRJ Debt on blah blah..who is Mr Walker? Absolutely bizarre and very annoying.

This number came up while I was at work 3 days ago. now that I have read these posts I wont be answering and I'm in ChCh

Received a phonecall from these sheisters.... hung up on them as realised pretty quickly it was a scam call

i just got a 'polite' call on my private mobile from 'Michael' from 001 (234)567-89, 'good-day ma'am, etc'. When I asked how he got my private mobile number he rang off.  I checked my call list and the number is listed as 'Salem, OH'

This is the first time I have had an 'odd' call on my mobile, normally I am bombarded with callers with foreign accents on my land-line saying they can help me with my debts, mortgages, loans, etc., etc.  As soon as I say I have no mortgage, no loan, no credit cards, they ring off.  These callers are so intrusive!

Andy - don't YOU realise that those people who said they have given their payment details and all was well probably work for the scamming company!! Don't believe everything you read on here!!

Stop Press !!! I've just received another number, but the same message from Fredricks International. Is there anyway we can stop these callers.

Ich bekam nachts, gegen 0.00 h, von dieser Nummer einen Anruf. Erstmal furchtbar erschrocken und dann war niemand mehr in der Leitung. Bei Rückruf ist immer Besetzzeichen. Was soll das für eine Nummer sein und wer will nachts was von mir?
