We got an automated call from this number to a disused property (collapsed due to ground-water). Most was cut off by our antiquated answer-phone message. Just got the last digits "4343" of their ring-back number.

    Scam!
I quickly noticed this was a scam when the caller started talking about computer software failure in very poor English. Obviously, no one but me would know of any such failure. The caller then said 'stupid' and hung up. They would have asked for bank account details, given the chance.

This call would not have been from MoJ.  I work for that Dept and we regulate debt collection companies so they may have used that connection to try to gain credibility.  you can report them just look up the contact details on Gov.UK for MoJ.

Tam, calls from this number seem to be so varied (everything from PPI scamsters to Debt Collecting Agencies via Event Reminders) that I suspect that it is some sort of facilitating number for forwarding calls along the lines of the famous BT text-to-landline service (See 0845 602 1111). If the common denominator can be established (Internet-based telephone service such as Skype, for example?) then it may be possible to work out how to deal with the problem. The very similar  0123456789 seems to have been on the go for nearly seven years now and, just like this one, the posts are too varied to have come from one single telepest. Also, some of the Event Reminders seem to be perfectly legitimate.  What do you think?

Looks like it could be a multi scam number rather than a facilitator.  Several sets of pests in one call centre given a script each to work on.  Whilst I usually agree with Tam, I think the person claiming to work for the MOJ is quite right to give people the chance to get the number from the MOJ website.  I don't know about you but I woould be wary of using a number given on here. It is unfortunate but you cannot take a post at face value.

I see where you are coming from, George, and this is certainly a possibility although, as I said, some of the calls seem to have been pretty legit.  I'm not subscribed to Skype or any similar service myself, but I wonder what caller ID shows up when someone calls your Skype number and the call is diverted for whatever reason to your mobile or landline. Perhaps someone who is with Skype could clarify this.

As you say, could be either.  That's the trouble there are so many ways these pests get through. Thank goodness for my call blocker!!!

I get calls from this number 2-3 times per day, the phone only rings once so there is normally no time to even answer, when using call back the message states that I have dialed an incorrect number. Looking at all the other comments it loks like another company who will get a stiff talking to!

Found a good way of stopping this type of call , is to answer it, when the other person speaks, you reply. Can I have the password, if no password is given, say I'm sorry but I cannot give you any information without it. Whines them up a treat.

Received call today Apr. 30.  Polite gentleman with foreign accent asked "how are you today?   (So I knew that this was a scammer calling!!)   Asked who was calling.  Caller didn't answer question but asked "are you Mr. ******.
I said 'No' but didn't explain further.  (Mr ******* had this number before me, and it was allocated to me by B.T about 3 years ago).  Caller gave up!  I do try to keep scammers on the line as long as possible on the basis that while talking to me they are not annoying someone else
