got a miscall this morning from a 213 number. definite scam. when u call a number and an answering machine answers round these areas, it entails a high cost flag fall. dont call these numbers back.

I also received calls today from that number +213 4084520 and interestingly my wife's mobile phone was stolen a couple days ago in the middle east, but I just answered that number again now and it was Citibank chasing a payment on my credit card....

Happened to me too, one missed call from 00213550914540 at 12:37 CEST. Also in Sweden.

country code +213 is Algeria (21 is shared between all African countries, and 3 is Algeria's specific number). Sounds like it's some kind of phishing scam or something, by the sounds of other commenters, if you pick up while it rings they present themselves as being from some bank investigating large payments, probably trying to get your account and card details.

I got call at 2:30pm on 21st June 2012,,,,,, I missed this call, I live in Pakistan,,,,, please explain what is the story behind this country code 00213 ?

I leave in Dubai and am receiving calls from all around the world (India, Europe, etc..)

They might be people leaving in these countries and calling their relatives and just called the wrong number.

I am fro India, i too have been getting crank calls from different nos,I dont talk ,no voice is heard they hang up, sometime its just a flash, somtimes they ring up few times. do not call back hose nos,huge amount of money is cut from your phone account those are fraud nos.
