Got a telephone call 30/06/2016 at around 11.40am from an Asian sounding guy who said his name was Emmanual Jason saying that he was from BT.  He informed me that they had deceived an application from me to disconnect my broadband and land line.

He kept insisting I said yes to this application which would cut me off at 8.00pm on the 1st of July, obviouslyI did not.  I am not even with BT, anyone else had this?

One would hope that most people would realise it was an overseas 'spoofed' caller and simply block it (or not bother to answer it in the first place!

2nd call in the 3 days. 1st time I kept him talking for about 5 minutes before accusing him of being a scammer. After a bit of blather he finally told me to F*** Off before hanging up. 2nd time, I managed to string them along for about 45 minutes across around 5 calls. Windows installing updates, just got something on the hob, eating breakfast and finally no internet connection (must be the modem problem they told me I had). If you have some spare time, keep them interested so they are not defrauding other more vulnerable people. Also called from 00220202020

Just had a call from someone who claimed to be from BT. I told him the line was indistinct and to call back. He did. I told him again that the line was not clear and to give me his number and I would cal back. Checked on here to find it is a spoof.

Claimed to be from BT and requested access to computer because of a fault that would end in a disconnection.  Total rubbish!
This caller is bogus and to be ignored.

Same as above, very nice man, who said he was calling from  was calling from BT London. I politely hung up.

Several calls from unknown number. Said from BT technical services and problem with router that would make my computer vulnerable. Asked for call back number and they gave this one.

Similar to the above. Allegedly from Bt openreach and trying to persuade me that he is to help me fix my router. I called his bluff. I asked what is my current broadband speed and what it should be (as the Openreach web site will tell you!). His response: 100mbs download, 75mbs upload, which is funny since I live in a village without fibre broadband. I kept him on the line for half an hour and to his credit he did not break, but we did end up in the Orwellian situation where he was asking me to prove he was a scammer - which brought us back to the broadband speed question. Bottom line: they are trying to get you to allow them access your computer, when they will presumably skim all your sensitive data. Beware!

Same here. They got a bit upset with me at the end and called me an [***] ! Thats when I was 100% certain they were not from BT !!

Just had peter on the phone claiming to be from BT I told him I would ring him back an insisted he gave me his number googled it and guess what ..........................

Just had same sort of phone call from Asian guy wanting to increase broadband speed - kept him on the phone for a while knowing it was a scam.  Be very careful these guys sound so convincing ........ scum of the earth

Received phone call at work saying my internet connection is slow and that he can fix it.
Gave name of Sam Lawrence and claimed that he worked for BT Open reach. Kept him talking for 15 minutes to waste his time.

Just got the same call. Spoke for a while.........did not understand a word he said!! Asked for his number for me to call him back which he gave as this one!! Very convincing I must say. I am a pensioner but still have my wits about me, they wont catch me.

Said they were from BT . We're not even with BT. Called for 40 mins trying to set up a server and need access to my computer to link them up.

Just had a call from an Asian speaking woman insisting that they had reason to believe hackers had used our IP address and they needed me to sit in front of the computer type something in and they would check my router. They sounded very convincing but I asked for their number and I would call them back. She gave me this number but then said she would now be disconnecting our internet! She said she was from BT in Fort William UK?!

Got a call from this number stating they were the BT security department. Asked for name and he said it was Jordan Wilson. I asked for his number so that I could check it and he gave me this number. However he told me that there was a quicker way to verify HIS identity by ME giving him details!!! Hahaha!

Five spam calls from this number today claiming to be BT.  Bit of a giveaway when they referred to it as 'British Telecom' which it hasn't been known as for years.

Two calls from this number saying I am going to be cut off shortly as its being hacked from abroad. I took the number and informed them that i will refer this number to the police.

They also called on 0161 8189289 ...thats Manchester

'Michael Angelo' really? Called me today - he was Asian sounding. Saying some problem with my bt line and computer not secure. Do these people really think they are credible?

Asian sounding guy. Said his name was Sam Lawrence ringing from Open Reach re my dropping internet signal. I told him I had to go out and could he give me the number to call back 00441793596931. He said he was British Telecom Technical Department and that I should make sure I called back as it is very urgent.
