I've been getting these too. The network can't block international numbers, only UK numbers - regardless of the telephone company you are with.
I expect they will give up once they realise I'm not going to answer their questions - it must cost them each time they call.

Although 0061 is Australia, this is probably a fake number via Skype or VOIP.

I just got the second call from this number. He asked for Mrs Devon both times. I told him "wrong number, Bye" and hung up. Male asian accent.

Been getting calls every day for over a week now from these I have always been polite to them as I always are to call centre workers as I think it is just there job. Today I started by saying Im not being rude but you keep phoning me every day and I keep telling you I'm not interested at this point he butted in aggressively saying "you listen here lady what's your problem what's wrong with you". As I am very certain I'm a man and sound like one Im certain he kept calling me a lady as an insult. As the conversation went on I merely said my only problem is you phoning me every day. Then he says "what's your problem what disease have you got" and finally he told me to go to hell and put the phone down. As you can imagine I found this disgraceful infuriating and actually quite upsetting. I've never had a phone call like it and can't believe it can be allowed for people to phone me in my home and speak to me like this.

very upsetting call from indian man. Called me everyday three times a day for the last two weeks finally picked the phone up today wish I hadnt. Asked for someone who hasnt lived here for years and when I told him became verbally abusive. Told me to go and F....K myself and more but you get the gist. I think its an indian call centre trying to establish if your line is active and other information about you.

Found out today from Indian nasty man that they have got my number through my bank. But dont know which one Halifax or Barclays because I had problems paying back a loan on my credit card. I have paid all my debts now and they are using still using my personal datal to harrass me. My sister who worked in India for many years said she had never heard Indian speak to people in such a foul way.....which makes me think are they being told to speak to people like this?

I would suggest you ignore these calls. 0061 is Australian International Code, so this scammer is obviously using a fake number via Skype or VOIP.  Saying they had got your number via your bank is, of course, a lie.  They random dial or pass numbers between their dodgy companies.  As the calls come from India they are outside our law, so the only thing to do is ignore them, or be as rude as you like.

The other day, i received a call from 006174554107. Initially, the person said some gibberish and i thought it was a wrong number so I hung up. the fourth time, the person said if i knew xxxx (my bf's name). When i  said yes, the person said if i talk to my bf again, he'll shoot him. That was really shock. What was worse that my bf also got a similar call. My bf abused the person for sayuch a thing and the person hung up in the middle of the call. It was really scary. Though none of us have recd any other call since then, it is still a bit weird. I am sort of scared.

I have in the past had some that get abusive and I can imagine that for someone on there own, intimidating.  Why can't they just get the message

I received a call from 0061398541201 about an hour ago - I did not answer it.  I decided to check online where this number originated from - it seems like it was Australia but after reading other 'victims' messages I realise that these calls are coming from India.  Whilst I was online checking out this number, would you believe it, I got another call, this time the number was 0912233905700.  I  answered it this time and a male Asian voice said, "Hello my name is William and I am not selling anthing".  I obviously told him I was not interested and put the phone down.   I am on leave from work this week, so it makes me wonder how many of these calls I usually get during the day!!!!!

Two calls today - hung up when answerphone responded, next time I answered with "Hello?", and they hung up. I am male, so as suggested above, they only target women.

Sorry pal, but you shouldn't put up with it.  Firstly call centre operators are a pain in the [***], even the legit ones but these people are crooks - end of story .  you owe them nothing so let loose, forget "polite" and tell 'em to go f'*&k themselves.  At least you will feel better about yourself at the end of the call, as you say, what right have they to call you in your own home and leave you feeling abused?

These lowlifes are calling me now six times a day. They say they are from a marketing research company..... liars.  They are after people who have had with difficulty paying off a loan... ie. my previous tenant. They will not take any notice when I tell them she left over 4 years ago. In fact I have been told I am a  F.....ing [***] and there is nothing I can do to stop them calling.
