Rang and left an inteligable message on my answering machine in a scottish accent,at 6-20pm on a Saturday evening!!

Unfortunately, this is not necessarily a foreign number. It is possible to set as your outbound phone number 999 if you have VoiP and a provider who is happy to not be too stringent on their rules. Therefore sending 00845 as the outbound number copuld easily come from a UK operation.

It also couldnt, in the interests of fairness.

This number just left its questionnaire about which rooms I use the most (in a Scottish accent) at about 19.40 this evening. It was unable to understand the reply not given by my answerphone and rang off. Shame I wasn't around to take the call, as I love wasting their time.

I'm a TPS subscriber but I expect they would say that they were doing "market research".

I had a call from this no. yesterday 12.8.11 at 13.01pm, the no. was withheld (tracked it down thanks to these forums) - caller left a voicemail message about a "lifestyle questionnaire" promising that if i enter, i'll be put into a draw to win M&S vouchers. Pressing 9 does nothing! A registered with TPS, have complained to them and ICO yet this is the 2nd time they've called. Argh!

I have e mailed the company to ask where they obtained my telephone number. There is an "opt out" button on the site but be aware they want your number before doing anything so this could be counter productive.

BTW - when I got the call I hung up but they were still there when I picked the phone up to dial 1471. As I didn't want to dial 9 I pressed 00 which stopped the call. Hopefully this didn't cost me any money!

Who pays for CTPS?

No money is received from the Government to run the CTPS, the direct marketing industry pays for it by purchasing the CTPS data file.

Recording of a Scottish woman calling herself 'Kirsty' from ??? Marketing Solutions wanting me to answer questions about home improvements.

Like others here I am TPS and ex Directory. Very annoying.

I got a call from this junk caller. I had to unplug the phone from the socket in order to re-set the line.

Re-run the search with the first zero removed from the number. It is quite revealing...
It is from a UK number and not from overseas.

attempted to carry out a survey, the had my name I told them that no such person lived here and to take this number off their database.

Telephone number 008452863822 called today on our home telephone.  Is this a legitimate number or a scam?  Please help.  We called the number back (stupidly!) but nothing happened.
