- Sick and fed upHad call this morning from this number. Didn't answer so they left recorded message on voice mail. Urgent from British Gas re my energy supply. Checked this number and number left in message 08001077064 with British Gas website. Neither number recognised. Now on nuisance list with own ring tone - will be ignored permanently!!
- Caller: Don't know
- INTHESOUPBritish gas
One on many numbers they have.
They use local numbers to contact you usually when chasing for payment as there is more chance you will answer.- Caller: BRITISH GAS
- Call type: Debt collector
- JaneDThey say they are British Gas calling regarding an outstanding Bill Payment. I am currently suffering from a long term illness and am unable to work. I have an agreed "Payment Plan" in place with British Gas to cover my Bills. Question is why are these people calling me? I told them I have been in negotiation with British Gas and therefore do not to need to speak to them and hung up.
- Caller: British Gas ?
- Bev replies to NicolaInteresting Nicola. I am not even on mains had, I have a wood burner as my only heating fuel in the house. I have been in my house for over 10 years so how is it possible that I owe British Gas anything? This is a scam, it always has been. British gas said to me when I called them to enquirer and I quite "we are aware if this number using British gas's name to attempt to get bank or card details. The police are dealing with this matter and out legal team are working to help our customers who are being intimidated by this".
I take serious offence at you accusing myself and others on here of non payment of bills. FYI I have triple A credit and have never ever missed or not paid a bill on my life!!!!! - john kokas replies to ChrisI did get in touch wit brithis gas.
- lemonlemonsliceCast-iron scumbags.
And if you're on here defending them, either you're one of their muppets or - Congratulations! - you've just been fleeced and you're too scared to admit it.- Caller: e-burglars
- Archie PaceyI got a call a couple of hours ago. I tried to ring back, but was told that the number was not recognised. It's complicated, but this caused me a lot of bother.
- Chris Barratt-PhelpsPest call, looks like a proper number but when you try to call them back.....not a recognised number.
- Caller: none given
- PeggieI was called really early, still in bed. Caller asked for me by name, said he was from the gas board, ringing about my boiler, which I did'nt think funny at the time as l am due a service. He wanted to know if I would be free today, l said no, he asked when, l foolishly said it could'nt be within the next few days as l was going away. He hoped l would get good weather. I asked if he could give me an appointment date, no, he would ring back later. Now l'm worried.
- Caller: GAS board
- GSI am assuming, despite all to the contrary on here, that this number that called me, but I was unable to answer on my mobile, is in fact BG. The reason I suspect this strongly is that I had just called BG half an hour before this call came in. I called BG on my house phone, 10 mins later I received an auto call from BG wanting me to partake in a survey (Which is SO annoying) I declined, and then 20 mins later a missed call on my mobile from this number, no message left. I KNOW it is not for a debt I may owe because I pay by DD and I am completely up to date. However, I had just called BG to give them the final meter readings on my dads property after him dying, and I asked them to prepare the final bills off these meter readings and send the bills to me. I cant see how I can be in debt after just 20 mins of giving them the information to close the accounts, but nothing would surprise me with BG. If they are calling for me to pay them immediately they will get a shock wont they, as the final bills have to be sent to the solicitor handling my dads estate, I told them this over the phone, and IF that is why they are calling, I can only say, parasites.
- Caller: British Gas
- hmmmWent on to British gas website http://www.britishgas.co.uk/help-and-advice/c ... e-call-you.html They don't know this number. The guy had a really aggressive tone and repeatedly pushed for my card details. Also his "security" check was to ask me to say the end of my post code. All in all it felt really unprofessional and a lot like a fraudulent call, and if this IS British Gas then this is some pretty shameful behaviour!
- Caller: Supposedly British Gas
- JoolsIt's NOT British Gas!!! It's a scam call trying to get money out of you. If British Gas want to cut you off you'll have a letter first ... not a nasty call. Sickos! SCAM SCAM SCAM
- Caller: Scam British Gas
- Call type: Debt collector
- KaetJust missed a call from this number, oddly enough about 5 minutes after paying my British Gas bill through the website. Their "did we call you" says unable to locate the number. Very odd that they do seem to be calling just after some of us have had dealings with BG but BG deny all knowledge, makes me concerned that their data protection systems aren't as good as they would like to make out
- andyCaller reprted they were from scottish gas, but only called me by first name (noisey call centre background) couldnt offer any credible evidence they actually are scottish gas other than offerring to supply account number, and post code.
They stated bill was over due and I face late payment charge..LOL no paper bill, no late payment warning =no way to legally charge for latepayment.
Amount asked for was less than half summer use bills, so told him to bog off- Caller: Scottish gas bogus
- Pat of NottsI have also received calls from this number. What I do now for all numbers I do not know, (I have a list by my 'phone of people I want to talk to), and I think are scam numbers, is - not answer it. I make a note of it, check it on the internet and have second list of all the scam numbers that call, have called and I never answer them. It mostly works for me.
- Daniel AgateThey phoned me at 7:40pm today saying they were coming to change all my meters and I needed to give them a reading now! They knew my name and I paid the bills from my address
- Caller: British gas
- TamLegitimate meter changes take place every 10 years. The company employee changing the meters takes the readings on the old and the new ones and gives you a note of them, often by sticking a label onto the new meters.
Tap any number claiming to be British Gas into their website at http://www.britishgas.co.uk/help-and-advice/c ... e-call-you.html and you will be told straight away if it is genuine British Gas number.
This one shows FALSE. - IntellicatIt is British Gas. They harass with calls from many different numbers, even using local numbers. This occurs from the moment you receive a bill and I have known them start even before I receive the bill.
