    Re Meadow Vale
This company recently demonstrated and subsequently sold a massage mattress to an 86 year old known to us after cold calling.  This cost £2000!! when it was found to be unsuitable for purpose less than a week later they refused to take it back and would not speak to the purchaser, promising to return calls and never doing so.  On researching the item we found that they can easily be purchased from other retailers for under £500.
    How low can you get??

Report them to CAB/Consumer Direct (they are now combined).  You could also try Action Fraud.  They are really good and very helpful. You could also try the Flame TV site and report it to Dominic Littlewood.  It would be right up his street.

seems to me that most of the people complaining about this company, are a relative or friend of the person called by   "meadow vale". and the ones that are saying positive comments are customers of  "meadow vale". loss of inheritance springs to mind.

How do you get to cancel an order. I've spent up to three hours trying to find an answer.

I have nothing but anger for this co,they contacted my elderly mother making out that they were aware of her medical condition, what a load of cobblers...they took advantage of her trusting nature, made an appointment with her,the salesman Paul spent 3 hours at her house and extracted £2200 for mattress that was of no use to her,the salesman even phoned through her card details to the head office, what a lovely man.Bearing in mind my mother is very ill and recently had a tumour removed from her brain she was well and truly conned by this lot.We did manage to get the sale cancelled as we never took delivery of the goods and we lodged a dispute with the nationwide debit card.
As stated earlier in this thread,They get the details from some database, even though she is on the TPS they hone their telephone skills and dupe the elderly.
I did ask for the salesman to call to explain is actions,he never did.

I found this while researching Meadow Vale Mobility. My Aunt, 82 was called by Meadow Vale, she allowed them to call in March 2012. She signed up to by a scooter and part exchange her old one. They took payment and she received a letter thanking her for her business. That has been effectively the last she heard from them. They have not answered calls or responded to letters. She asked me to help. My Wife and I have called and emailed. Phoned the Sales Directors, Mobile left messages and nothing back. Beware I still have to pursue this further but at the very least you can say its atrocious customer service. I won’t say what I really think of it. Preying on the old and vulnerable and who can least afford to lose thousands of pounds.

My 86-year-old mother was approached by phone and agreed to a visit from a Meadow Vale rep.  She paid £500 deposit for a Ripple Therapy chair costing £2000, but the next day thought better of the purchase, rang the company to cancel and also wrote to them.  This was back in May 2012 and she has still not had her deposit returned, and has put the matter in the hands of her credit company.  I agree about preying on the old and vulnerable, and even those who are better off are very likely not in a fit state to make sensible decisions about major purchases.

seeing im like most people at the moment .. out of work and need a job .

after reeding this , im really unsure now , as i dont want to be apart of some scam . i wont do it .

im genuine  and look after people .

its not my nature to rob anyone or lie .

only job thats come through within 3 months of unemployment .

im in a position here where should i go for the work because im desperate for a job and need to live . or not and have nothing , and the worst christmas ever with no money and cant afford anything .

and be called a scrounger on benefits  because im not working .

i seriously cant live off benefits as its not enough to cover my out goings .

    i struggle to live

i would prefer a wage and security  than getting further in a hole creating debt

from a cofussed  person just wanting a job

my father passed away in january, my mother was contacted and a salesman for a stairlift visited, after 2 hours, manged to talk my mother into taking a deposit, calling head office managed to take £5100 from my mothers barclays account, have spent most of this year trying to get the money back. All letters were lost in the post!!!, even special delivery letters!!! Finally miss helen page a newly appointed director, gave a written letter of a promised refund within 28 days, this passed now miss page is not even opening my emails and cannot contact anyone via phone.
Googeling meadowvale mobility compliants brings up this info, and No im not a relitive worrying about losing my inheritance, i am someone who worries that how many old people are getting ripped off, those old people with no relitives or freinds to fight in their corner and just accept the loss of their hard earned savings to crooks like these.
Also i cannot understand how a company like this is allowed to continue trading.

My mother was also duped with a £2500 reclining chair.
Its in the hands of Trading Standards & her credit card company now.
Once this is resolved, I am sending a dossier to Watchdog, Rogue Traders and anyone els I can find.
Beware - they are a bunch of crooks preying on the elderly.

I was approached by phone and agreed to a visit from a Meadow Vale rep.  We paid £2500 for a Ripple Therapy Chair. The chair stopped working, loose cable underneath had been severed and were dangerous.
I have called and written to Meadow Vale, no reply.
My credit card company is now after them.
Watch out, they prey on the aged.

My mother has had dealings with this company, she purchased a massaging chair which she says is "ripple therapy". They asked if they could demonstrate said therapy to my mother who suffers with crippling arthritis. My mother agreed under the condition that I would be present at time of demonstration to which they gladly agreed. The therapy worked a treat making every day life much easier to deal with for my mum! I am not willing to disclose the amount we paid between us for the product as that is nobody else's business but in my eyes, the knowledge that my mother is now more comfortable is priceless and I would've gladly spent three times the amount we did to ensure that my mum is comfortable at such a difficult time. Who wouldn't be glad to see that? Who wouldn't want to try anything to ensure that loved ones aren't going through pain?

i used to work for meadow vale back in 2011. i was in the warehouse building the beds. i can tell you that during my time there if we ever had a complaint about a bed being faulty it was always seen to and repaired.
as for the telesales side, the only people that get "cold called" are thos on the disabilty register, i do know that they are sometimes using old data and may not know it someones circumstances have changed

i have no idea how the company opperates now, but when i worked there we always made sure complaints about faulty furniture were always sorted out.

I have been trying to contact Meadow Vale to arrange a service on my scooter, found a new 0800 number on their website, When I contacted them they said that the number had changed so that customers didn't have to pay for the calls.

I have read the comments on the previous threads and when I asked the girl about it, she said that they were aware of them and were sorry for the bad press. She did mention to me that they had been trading for many years and visit about 10,000 people a year so in my mind I only base my opinions on how they treat me, which to be honest has always been excellent.

There new phone number can be found on the website www.meadowvalegroup.com
