they are a rates consultants that just want your money

Definitely avoid this company.. We were convinced to make a rates appeal through them and paid the fee. All very convincing during the early stages where they pretty much guarantee you'll get £000s back. Several months later we were advised we had lost the appeal Throughout the process, our supposed advisor didn't speak to us once. We asked for our fee back but have heard nothing. They said that they could appeal the decision (for another fee down the line, no doubt) but once bitten...... Avoid IDC and spread the word! to other small business owners

Do not use this company .i have just took them to court for mis selling and they settled before the court date.as a result of this company's advice my rates will be increasing by £ 3000 a year .speak to them at your risk.

Think i might have a shot at trying to get my money back through the courts as well seeing as its worked for the last poster, has anyone got any succesful template letters i can use that will help me as i cant really afford a solicitor as im a small business..

Always check that any company that you use is either a member of the institute of rates,revenues and valuations or institute of chartered surveyors

Don't touch them.... Ive just been stung by them, i was given a case number, i handed over my money and nothing, they sent me a letter last week saying my case was not successful but have failed to tell my why.
When i call for answers they tell me email instead of phoning, nobody wants to speak to me.

My son was done by these pricks and also got the same letter little do they know they messed with wrong family iv had a drive to this registered office in walnut avenue and it's a residential home who's I dont know yet but this will not just be left there office is in Bolton my neice works for Bolton council she says if we do a protest outside the papers will come for there bit gossip which will put these [***] bk to the pit they crawled from obviously it won't be announced on here

Yes, the plot thickens, I have been contacted (cold call) and after reading that you pay £375 + VAT once you receive a reference number from the Valuation Office and they can only proceed once paid. This rang alarm bells for me. I was told verbally that you only pay if they get a rebate, no win no fee so why should you pay upfront. This forum has also put a nail in the coffin for IDC. STAY AWAY.

These guys did me last year, total thieving scum bags, i paid their fee after they told me i had thousands coming back to me. Once i paid them i heard nothing and every time i rang they just led me a dance so i gave up.
Just a con and if you if you are stupid enough like i was to fall for it then blame no one but yoursef as you have been warned!!

Yet again, I have to remind you that your threats have no validity because this site is subject to USA law.  If you look up the history of the site you will see that much larger companies than you have tried to take them to court and failed.  The only money made has been by lawyers.  If you contact the site Moderators and can prove that any posts are untrue them they will remove them.  They will not remove posts just because you do not like them.

Would you care to comment on whether you have a connection with Marcus Davies of Duncan Regent, also based in Bolton, who operate the same Business Rate reduction "Business"?  They also use the same semi legal jargon to threaten people who post on here.

I checked a good proportion of the links you kindly provided.      For those that worked, persons with responsibility for RAC or AA boxes may be very interested.      Looks like a limited market.

Do not sign from this company as they are a scam company, if you have already signed up and have the TCARS terms on your contract then change your bank details as they will charge you without your permission and because you've signed for the 2010 appeal they will charge you £450 in 2015 as they already have your bank details, the service they provide is a joke and mislead business owners and they say it's no win no fee, that is total rubbish and a lie, you pay the £450 when they put in a claim, no decision has been made and then you pay there fee then they leave it then 99% you don't receive reduction, change your bank details if you have signed in the past year and have TCARS agreement on your application, hope I've helped alot of businesses here

I can only tell you my experience with IDC & draw your own conclusions. I was aware we were probably over paying business rates, and had tried myself for 3 years to get a rebate & got nowhere (tied up in red tape which I didn't understand). I was cold called a few times by various firms on this subject, and finally agreed to take a chance on IDC. Basically it cost me a flat £300. My thinking was if they get somewhere, great, if not I've written off £300 which I was prepared for. As it turned out, pretty much everything they said worked out. Yes it took a long time (around 8 months from memory, which they said it might), but I finally got a rebate from the council going back around 2 years which amounted to nearly £5k. I also got a rates reduction of around £200 per month going forward. This all happened just under a year ago. So up to this point, I can only say for me they provided a great service and saved me a small fortune. Maybe they'll raid our bank account & clear us out due to some small print I didn't read properly, and if that happens I'll certainly be back on here to tell everyone! But until then I can only say they did a great job.

I too took a chance with them and paid the fee on the basis that if we won, great, but if not, it was only £350 lost.  As it turns out, they did a great job and we received a rebate of approx £7,000!  Would not hesitate to use them again if necessary.
