I wonder what brought you and "Robin" to this site?  This site is to report unknown, unwanted and scam calls and share information.  Why would people who had such a good experience with a company search out a site like thi to leave a positive post?  The rates reduction business has been known as a con for about a decade now.  Check out Moneysavingexpert and other forums and you will see the evidence.  Positive posts are usually put on by the company being complained about to try and impart a positive spin on their ativities.

Hi. I recieved a letter from IDC recently offering additional services (which I won't take up because I don't need to). In the letter they mentioned they felt they were being unduly attacked on this site, and said if we felt inclined, to visit the site and give our opinion to give a fair balance. So in the interests of fair play and partly out of curiosity, I visited the site. When I read all the posts about them being a scam company and a rip off, I did feel obliged to give our account as in my experience they did exactly what they claimed they would. I can assure you I have no link to IDC other that being a client, and no link to that industry. If you would like evidence, you can email me on this private address midlifecrisis38@hotmail.co.uk (I'm not putting my work email on here) and I will happily prove it in private between you and I. I also have to say, I used another firm for a similar claim at a previous office premises around 10 years ago who were also succesful! So in my experience it is wrong to claim the whole rates reduction business is a con. I'm sure there are con-artists in it, but IDC didn't con me. I guess its like PPI claims, not everyone is going to be succesful. And yes, "Robin" is my real name!!

Interesting that they asked you to post on here.  Are they saying that all the people who have had a bad experience with them are lying?  What about the post from Old mother Riley, who had checked out the links IDC gave.  IDC also have not denied that they are connected with another Business Rates Reduction company in Bolton, with Directors of the same surname.  As they post the same sort of threats against people who post on here, it seems more than likely.   If you are a legitimate poster and what you say about their service is true, then you have been lucky.  As I said previously check out Moneysavingexpert and other forums to see the validity of our complaints.

Fair comment. As mentioned I have no link to IDC and wouldn't suggest those who have had a bad experience are all making it up. I can only say what happened to me. Maybe as you say, I was lucky. To be fair they did say the appeal may not be succesful, and I'll admit I was sceptical, but I thought it was worth a punt as I was pretty sure we were paying more in rates than we should be. No one was more shocked than me when I finally heard from the local council to tell me we were going to get around £5k back from them, plus a lower monthly rates bill moving forward. Sometimes it can come down to the 'sales person' you get on the phone. The girl I dealt with seemed pretty genuine, but I guess some will say anything to get your money. They're bound to all be commision based.

makes me laugh out loud these comments, IDC are linked with 2 companies in bolton 1 being Duncan Regents Associates & the 2nd being Higgins & Thomas they are all a con do not be fooled by these idiots

Interesting information.  Are their addresses "virtual offices"?  Hope that others follow your infromation and do not fall for these scams.

I have many contacts around the bolton area in the food industry and i have been told they are now opening a wholesale company think is wedding accessories when i find out i shall post the name so any one who been done by these low life scum can contact them through that as no one ever calls you back all i get is email email well no more

I took them to the small claims court and they settled in full before the hearing.
Unfortunately my rates have gone up because of them.
Rogue company do not entertain and don't be intimidated by their threatening to take you to court to recover monies.

A list of companies mostly from Lancashire and one from Essex have now been reported to the national media.if anybody has a complaint that they feel they have been scammed please could you respond.i will tell you where to lodge this complaint.business rate scams have never been more prevalent.the only way forward is to put an end to it and that is to give them the publicity they deserve.remember strattons and oldfields were the first companies to be investigated and their directors jailed.this will only happen if complainants join forces.

These con companies are all run by Gary Davies, Ian Davies, Carron Duncan and there siblings. Other scams run by these idiots include LMI UK Limited and diamond vacation club to name but two which were scam timeshare companies. I have put months of hard work into tracking down these con artists and i now have the information which i have posted. Also, to our delight we now Mr Gary Davies' personal mobile number which is... 07843393435 just in case anybody wants a "one to one" with him.

Is there any way you could contact me via solicitors and media as I am compiling a dossier on rogue rating firms

What I really need is a list of complainants who feel they have been scammed.one national newspaper is prepared to investigate these rogue firms so long as they have genuine victims

I wish I had seen this forum before.  Have paid the £450 over to IDC last month, our rates are due next week and we have no way of paying them. I only read the warning about rate reduction scams today on Bristol City Council website. Any advice on what to do? Thanks

Sorry to hear about your situation.you will have probably been scammed.it is all coming out in one of the national newspapers this weekend.there are a list of six rating firms who will be investigated.how I can help you I don't know but if I can i will.what I do need is the address of your premises so i can investigate what you can do.

I am hoping having been in discussions with one of the national newspapers that an article will appear in one of the Sunday newspapers.this will expose the fraud that is being carried by rating firms.i will wait until Sunday to see if the article appears and then let you all know which is the newspaper.

An article appeared in today's business section of the Sunday telegraph.it was about implying that there are many spurious claims being submitted for business rates reductions.the article was written by graham ruddick.i would suggest that anybody who feels they have been scammed should write to him.any further help let me know.

This is a message to ian Davies.i have just warned somebody off in West Yorkshire from using your company.you do not seem to be learning your lesson.without any shadow of a doubt you and your companies are scammers.for every appeal you put in West Yorkshire I will contact your contacts if i am sure there is no possibility of success.sue me if you want and it will be a pleasure to see you in court.i have had enough of this nonsense and a file rest assured will be sent to the various authorities.
