- RHi,
After reading all the posts I am surprised I fell for a similar scam. I graduated in the summer and was also finding it really difficult to find a job, until I found a company on the total jobs website. Initially I thought it was too good to be true but sent my CV in anyway. The next day I had an email inviting me to come in for an interview, which I went to. Vague is definitely how I would describe their wording of the job. I stuck with it and went to the second round interview. At this point I started to worry as how can an 18 year old who has not been to university show you round and interview you for a graduate job?
I started working for them thinking at least I could make some cash while I looked for a new job, but they started moving me round onto different "campaigns", talk- talk was the first, then Miller Patterson and finally the make over one which many on these websites have commented on.
The penny finally dropped for me when we went to the "rally" as they called it. It was in Birmingham, we had to pay to travel up there, but once I got there I was so shocked by how massive the "company" was. It is all over the country. They had a massive stage, a dance group perform at the start, awards were given out to the people who had done well (aka sold lots) and dance music on while no one was on the stage to keep the crowd hyped up.
After the rally I quit.
All I can say is be very careful when you go to the interview. Ask lots of questions and if your gut tells you something is wrong, then it probably is. I think I only stayed the few weeks I did as the people who I worked with seemed so nice. Do not be fooled by that. Some are genuinely nice and do want to be your friend. The rest are only their so they can use you to get to the next level and get more money.
The "company" I worked for was not in Coventry, but I would warn any friends throughout the country to stay well away from them, unless they really want to work for a pyramid scheme.- Caller: Jtm solutions
- Elle| 1 replyTwo words. Oh God.
I saw this job advertised on totaljobs.com and all I have to say is this: Any company that is looking for people with no relevant experience or education (which in my opinion is extremely important to show ones level of intelligence) and then eagerly call them straight away to offer an interview, there has to be a “scam” somewhere. I find it insulting and degrading, I feel very sorry for people who are fooled by this but then only a fool can do a fools job.

- DaveMy daughter worked for one of these last week. She put in over 38 hours for nothing amd she had to make her own way out to the place they told her (Manchester to Macclesfield one day).
I work for the HMRC and even though they claim this is a self employed position it does not meet that criteria and as such should be paying National Minimum wage. You do the hours that they state at the place they tell you and you have no control over the stock. I have reported them to the HMRC National Minimum wage team this morning, and if they have are above board they have nothing to worry about.
If anyone takes a job similar to this in the future you can check to see whether you are classed as employed/self employed on the HMRC website

- DREAMERSHaving been made redundant 2 years ago i was desperate for a job, and came across the AC Generations advert. You guys all know the story of what happens etc etc...
I worked there for a while, whilst searching for other proper roles (and am now in a full time proper job)
ANYWAY... noted a few things
- Nick Johnson (MD) lived in a flat-share with a load of others, and drove around in a 10 year old MINI One - not befitting of a £150k+ salary.
- Paul Angel (made it through the "management programme" under Nick) lives at home with parents, and drives a battered old 1997 Renault Clio
- Tom Wright - opened was forced to take some people andopen his own office...in BRISTOL, the rectum of England. ALL the workers here shared a flat... the company lasted a few months before they all returned, tail between legs.
The greatest thing of all... According to credit reports...the company has a net-worth of less than £5,000.- Caller: AC Geneations
- Minnie MouseHi i went for an interview at G10 Global. I wasnt sure of the company as all the information was very vague and the actually wasnt much information on the internet about the company. I went for my fir preliminary interview and he was asking me stuff like 7x7 and asking me what verbs n adjectives were. There was no talk about pay of much about the job description and the interview must have lasted no more than 5 minutes. Everyone tries to look the part with their suits on but underneth i felt their was something not right.
I then was called about 4 hours after my interview and was congradulated on getting through too my second interview, i then checked up on the company and done more research. I found a thread on google and people had been through the exact same process as me with different comany names eg in England Bour bor Creation etc and they were all saying its a scam, im so glad i seen this im not going too any interviews and that they were lucky they wasted some time and money and imagine they left their job too go and sell stuff and theyve got kids and house bill too pay etc.. Their picking on young vulnerable people that have only left school for a couple of years and get pulled into this scam. People are probly getting more on jsa than they will make in selling products. DO NOT DO THIS JOB!!!
So i then decided too not go for the second preliminary interview.
ps The whole company sounds like a scam and the man that interviewed me had a strange name that i cant even remember but sounds really dodgey.
Most jobs they tell you exactly what youll be doing, what youll be selling, how much money youll get and if you have any question but none of this was done at this job so STAY AWAY FROM G10 GLOBAL.. ITS A SCAM!!!- Caller: G10 Global
- DEMIIIIIThese companys may not be scams but they do rip the piss right out of u end of
- ConfusedHave any of you actually worked for TPR in Colchester?
Cos by the sounds of it, all you know about the company is that from ex employees, that are so pissed off with themselves that they couldn't even do the simplest task and talk to people.
I worked for TPR for around 8 months. And in these 8 months, i had an amazing time. The people that work there are so fun and outgoing, we used to go out of a weekend all together, go away for the week with work to a different county, and it was a great laugh. I would make between £500 to £600 a week. Rented my own nice apartment in Colchester, and was able to set up a savings program, which enabled me to move to Barcelona for the summer...
It may be commission only, but i like that, who wants to be told how much they are going to earn BORING!!
And it may be door to door, but can't be that hard when people actually make a living out of it.
I made it very high up in the company through hard work and determination, so what about the hours, i'l sleep when i'm dead.
Only reason i left the job was because i wanted to go travelling, more than i wanted to make money.- Caller: TPR
- Shocked!! replies to ElleOnly a fool can do a fools job??
BIT RUDE!!!!
I worked for a company like this, Very long hours, commission only. But i earnt roughly £500 - £600 a week, yeah that sounds foolish. But to a 19 year old when no one else would hire her because you NEEDED experience, which i was never gonna get because i couldn't get a job cos i didn't have the experience to get experience...Then it sounds pretty good. I was able to rent my own flat, buy expensive things and fund my trip to Barcelona for 8 months
Unless you've worked for a company like this, you have no say. It's better than being on job seekers allowance right? or do you like the fact that no good idiots are using our tax money to sit on their [***].
THINK NEXT TIME FOOL!! - Ha| 4 repliesThis place is a joke, worked their the owner is a joke:
Joshua Peace - borrowed the money from his Dad to buy an audi
He is all about himself
He got rid of someone for making no sales - yet self employed so how does that work? - connori started with one of these companies a few weeks ago and i love it! everything i have been through so far has been really professional and explained thoroughly. yes i am only 18 but i am not stupid. im going to carry on with this regardless because no matter what i am earning money and progressing fast so it sweet. these people who are calling it a scam just obviously dont have the motivation or dedication to succeed when this kind of opportunity arises.
- Modfather84 replies to Ha| 3 repliesI've just had a read through a few of these while bored at work as Josh is a mate of mine and fancied seeing the latest garb that is being posted about his company.
Fair enough some of you come on here to have a go at the business, it really isn't for everyone so you're entitled to your opinion...I even left myself as I prioritise my family life above my work life, however I worked in the Maidstone office that Josh was in and went through the field on a number of campaigns with him. I loved it while I was single and as I'm not the type to shy away from a hard days work I didn't mind the hours as I had little else to do every night! Besides I saw the extra work as a great way to not spend the money i was earning through guess what...knocking doors!!
I saw Josh get Promoted through the management scheme in under 14-15 months, and since know that he has helped in excess of 10 other people open their own offices in the last 2-3 years. He's a great lad and very truly goal orientated and is an animal when it comes to training other people to hit their goals also.
So as I said, have a pop at the company and your own shortcomings as much as you like... But having a go at Josh isn't really going to achieve anything is it? maybe a slight personal gloat while you sit in front of your computer safe in the knowledge that you earn a considerable amount less than he does in 4 short years in his job.
He's a nice guy, earns a shedload of cash, has helped numerous other people do likewise and in the current economic climate he's giving people the opportunity to change their lives! and their families for that matter.
So give him a break. - LOL replies to Modfather84| 2 repliesYou say you prefered family life surely 8 months in the field you could haved ended up like that and rich
And does he earn a shed load? When he has to borrow off his dad to buy a car LOL - Modfather84 replies to LOL| 1 replyAs I said I left the business to have a family life, you really are as thick as your post suggewsts if you can't see what I was saying....in simple terms for you now "for single, young people, with no real expenses or responsibilities it's a great business!"
I'm now engaged and have a child on the way and a really good job in sales in the city, the reason I got this job isn't down to grades at school because I didn't excell in that area, its down to the fact that if I can knock on doors for 7-8 hours per day then any other sales job is easy in comparison..
So grow a pair! if it wasn't for you thats fine, as I said it wasn't for me. But Josh is a good bloke and trust me he earns a lot more money than any one who works in his office knows about. He's not as flash as the other owners you meet. That's his choice though, he's a humble guy! and as for his folks lending him money for the car I guarantee that not to be the case, Josh would happily let you believe it as he puts his family ahead of anything and would want to make them look good at all costs. But I know for a fact just how much money Josh has helped his family out with since his promotion to management.
So before you start spouting more toilet that you know nothing about, take a second to look at the only genuine facts of this which is you couldn't stand the pace of door to door sales like a lot of people.....but it has nothing to do with Josh! he's proof that the system works! He was one of the worst people in the field you would ever have seen, he made less money than almost everyone else in the office almost every week...he just had a massive work ethic and followed the systems and trained others to hit the heights that he couldn't. - AlexHas anybody heard of or worked for spynx solutions because I had an interview today and it did seem to good to be true. Also Thank you for warning me about TPR enterprise I was about to drive to colchester for an interview tommorow.
