- Diana WalkerI had a landline call on 12/12/09 from 01234567890 on Saturday evening [6.28pm] and when I picked up my receiver an Asian voice said <this is the council calling> [as if!] to which I replied <who are you kidding, get off my line.>
When I replaced my receiver, I found I was unable to disconnect from this caller which had a lot of background noise, voices etc. I had to try several times to disconnect from this caller and after a few minutes I just had to disconnect my entire phone line to break this connection. - GULDEREN URASi answer the phone but there is no one?

- rosie replies to Allan MackintoshOmg!! I got a call of this number too. When I answered somebody said 'Hello' and asked what I was doing. When I asked who it was they hung up. But then when you dial it back it says the number hasn't been recognised. Hmmm :s
- InfiniteArcThis number 01234567890 rings me 2 to 3 times a day some times, and its been going on for about 6months now, surely some thing can be done since it annoys the hell out of me. There is no one on the line at all in my experiences.
Normally when this kind of call is received its a call center trying to find if anyone is at home, and soon after you will receive another call from the same call center with their offer or some unbelievable deal of the day, or the like.- Caller: InfiniteArc
- CarrotJust had a call from 01234567890, I missed the call, no message left, the number looks a bit suspect and my insurance is due on my bike and car so its probably a spam caller or telesales.

- MI have received numorous calls from this number, mostly of a foreign origin, they request all the details from your bank cards, they introduce themselves by saying they're from one of the many banks out there each time to see if you are an account holder, and ask if they are speaking to ............Name, at Address ............! I don't tell them anything, I just listen to them rant on, they then say that "our bank has overcharged you interest on a loan", anything relating to mortgages, and also make up nonsence about how they are straight away going to put all that money back into a "SECURE ACCOUNT".......???? They were getting really mixed up and i could hear them mumbling on with a supervisor, when i asked them what account, sometimes they reffered it to my account and then sometimes a "secure acount" when they asked me for my date of birth, i gave them a totally false one, and said that's correct, also when i said "where are you calling from" they just kept asking for my card number and getting really irate, and told me to stop wasting his time included with "DO YOU WANT THIS MONEY OR NOT?" So i told him "there's not a chance in hell you are having any details", he then ended the call with "You F*** OFF!!
The good thing is that they left without the details they needed.
The scary thing is they had my name, address and postcode even though i told them it was incorrect!
I don't know where they get their info from, all i can think of is that there's always sombody in any company willing to trade your info to cash to illegally run companies.
Beware!!!- Caller: Unknown
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- ErikHad two calls from this number, both asking about a Visa payment card machine for accepting payments. Just sales calls, indian origin (sounds like), probably just a call center trawling through lots of numbers. Not too hard to mask a call number.
- Call type: Telemarketer

- granny replies to noseI had a call from 00441234567890 on my Tesco mobile while I was on a touring holiday in Israel, crossing into Palestinian Bethlehem, it picked up a different signal and I got the standard text from the local network saying that I would not be able to make outgoing calls only incoming calls and texts... typical in those areas of the middle east. The caller was my daughter calling me from her mobile in uk and so I assumed it was a standard number they use with the 0044 to show it's a UK incoming call when they cannot display the correct one.
Reading the other posts for this number it seems obvious that scammers can hide their real number behind this one somehow - but it may be a legit call from abroad so don't be alarmed.
Never, ever even confirm your name address to any caller purporting to be from your bank or utility comapny - it just doesn't happen. Sure they will ask you to confirm your name, address and date of birth details if YOU call THEM but they would never ask for bank card number or pin number.
If in doubt ask for their name and number to call them back - if it's a legit uk number then ring it and you'll know. If it's a mobile, foreign or premium it is dodgy and they'll most probably know they're had and will have abandoned the call by then in any case. - notsure replies to Allan Mackintoshi just got a call. it was my friend who was on holiday abroad. it's a cheap tarrif prefixy thing for calling from abroad. both people pay. if it's quiet one of you has no credit.
