I keep getting calls from this company.  I took over the number from in November.  When I answer the call giving my name the person hangs up.  BT Nuisance Calls were unwilling to do anything except advise me to get the 'Choose to Refuse' Service or go to the police - HELP!

Keep receiving calls from 01252576434. I'm at work when they call so I cannot answer the phone. No messages have evr been left, so I figured that they were some sort of telemarketing co.

Googled it and found this site. I don't have any debt, so don't understand why they are calling.

Is there anything I can do to prevent them from calling?

Someone called asking for Miss Angela __________. I said she was not in and offered to take a message. Then the caller asked if I knew if Andrew Taylor still lived at #20 because he had important business correspondence for him. I said I did not know, they asked if I could find out. I said if they said who they were I could leave a message at that address for Andrew Taylor.

He said he was calling from the Telegrams Office and left his number as 01252 576376. I asked how he got my name and number, he said from the electoral register.

A debt stays with you until you are either insolvent or dead.  The 6 year period is only relative to an active credit file.  Of course the amount is relative also.

Phoned today from 01252 576376. Company calling itself Telogram. Asked me to confirm the fact that a neighbour called **** lived at the address. I asked why call me about it & he said because the neighbour didn't have a registered phone no. I asked why he wanted to know & he said because he had some correspondance for **** and needed to verify that they lived at that address. I said I found the call very dubious because either they could send it out regardless, or there were legitimate ways of veryfying who lives at an address (thinking of electoral roll). I said why call me as I am registered with Telephone Preference Agency and legitimate companies don't make unsolicited calls to people on the list - qite apart from how dubious the reason for calling was. The call lasted over 10 minutes - you'd think that after a minute or 2 they would realise they were not going to get the information they wanted.

just got a call from these lot asking for XXXXs address. Same as above, telegram needs redirecting, urgent etc. Asked how they got my mobile number and they told me a freiend got gave it.
Luckily I've worked in environments where "chancers" abound so didnt give any information but started questioning them. Having nothing better to do at lunch time i decided to have some fun and after about 10 minutes of asking where they got my detials, who they were, what is your business etc, why cant a telegram be delivered to the address stated by the sender etc, the guy hung up on me. I then googled the number and found this site. Thanks to all the scammers out there, because if they werent so prevelant I dont think we'd all be so paranoid about giving out personal information!

can this company make your address blacklisted or give you bad credit history when it has nothing to do with you?

Yes still up to their tricks that old one Telogram what a shambles.

Hope they meet their match one day soon.

had a letter from telogram 3 days ago and now a letter is waiting at the post office for me to sign can anybody tell me if telogram send out special delivery letters to confirm the deliverey any advice would be appreciated

These people rang me today with just the same stories as previously described, the phone number was slightly different 01252576371 they asked about a neighbour saying they had mail for them I gave them short shrift

just received a postit note saying that they r trying t trace my dad, and they gave me his address and another address which he has never lived at.

they are using a different number which is 0870 0842555

i will advice anyboby not t give any info out and to contact the police because some vunerable person will fall in to the hands of this scam.

The old 'parcel delivery' ploy, eh?  According to the OFT Guidance on Debt Collection, such companies should not use misleading tactics.

Had a call from 01252 576376, the lady spoke very fast but worked out she was from Telegram. She asked if I could confirm my address as I had mail that they were trying to deliver! After I asked her to confirm her company she said she could tell me who the post was from but I had to confirm my address first. I hung up without giving my details as I thought this very strange. And after looking at this website Im glad I didnt tell them anything. From what I can work out they are a debt collecting agency.Who do they think they are??????????

The methods they use to locate and prove whether someone is resident at the address they send their letters to contravenes many rules of the data protection act and trading standards.  It is in itself a method of subterfuge.  A simple call to trading standards will stop their tactics as a representative will be interviewed and even cautioned in a special interview room, the results of which may be used to prosecute said company.

My wife recieved a call on our home phone from a company wanting information about my neighbour. She unwisely confirmed our house number to them so I did a 1471 and called the number - 01252 576376.

The girl on the line said they were DVL (or DVSL?), a mail forwarding company. I asked them how they got my home number, she said I must have agreed to be contacted on that number in the past as it was on a database. this is worrying as my number is ex-directory!  

So CapQuest are still up to their old tricks, just using a new front name!

it's interesting I had a call from this number, but didn't answer it as i don't answer numbers I don't have in my phone list. However I then got a text to say I had a missed call from 02084958600 which suppose to come through at the same time.

This morning I had a text with my name and telling me to contact Capquest? (deleted text)

I don't have any debts, so it they think I am going to call them back they will be waiting a long time.

Had a pre-recorded voicemail asking me to ring Capquest.

Capquest is a debt collection agency with a dubious reputation.

Therefore they havent a hope in hell of me ringing them back.

I am annoyed these companies manage to get my phone number

I am getting around 4 x calls a day! very rude wont give information. bunch of bullys..... capquest aka telecom
